I found this game on PSN for $2.50, this game was a waste of both time and money. I can't believe this game debuted for $14.99. This game is broken in every way. The screen tearing is atrocious, the graphics are painful, and story is almost non-existent. There is absolutely no reason for anyone to purchase this crap. Even though it's discounted for a special time, just pass it up. I played this game for 47 minutes, that was 46 minutes too long. Just say no to Amy! Graphics - Horrible (Screen Tearing, to many trails on character models) Sound - Grating and Annoying. Game-play - Awful (Clunky Combat, Stiff Character Models, Horrible Collision Detection) Replay Value - NONE! (If you beat the first level and not die of boredom first, Kudos to you!) All-in-all, this game sucks, please do not buy! Thank you!

First words that come to mind, Oh My god (lower-case "g".) I have never played a game that has such a deep and rich story. Don't even get me started on the game play. I mean, the hell with Skyrim, COD, GOW, Borderlands 2, etc. This game is where it' s at. You would be passing up a major gem if you missed out on this fantastic game. I can't stress enough how awesome the game is. The developers of this game have truly spoiled us. Not only do we get to drive down a rich and crisp detailed street, but we also get to simulate the experience by cleaning it too? I could easily play this game for 8 hours a day, but the fact that it is so amazing, I feel like I don't deserve the awesomeness of this game. So I'm stuck playing crappy titles like Borderlands 2 and Dishonored. I think if they make a sequel my head would explode due to the fact that there is too much pure awesomeness in this title to make it better! I only have one more thing to add. PLEASE, Excalibur Publishing Limited, bring this spectacular game to consoles; possibly as a release title for the Xbox 720 and PS4. Although I don't think the consoles can handle the graphics and the smooth game play. Thank you for reading my review of this amazing game - now GO! and buy this one of a kind title, it is definitely worth the $50 price tag! Have fun, and enjoy! :)

Sat, 19 May 2012 16:49:00 -0700 Arthusbuttkick reviewed The Elder Scrolls III: Morrowind for the PC... http://www.gamespot.com/the-elder-scrolls-iii-morrowind/user-reviews/794180/platform/pc/ ...and gave it a 9.0!

This game is worth every dollar. You will spend hundreds of hours and replay with different characters a great many times. Though the graphics are now dated the environments and architecture are varied and very eye catching. The weather is also very beautifully animated.

Morrowind is a massive open world you are free to wander freely and and at will. It would take hours upon hours to explore the entire game. You came play this game for days and still have an endless amount of content still to explore. While this is one of the many things that make this game great it also work in the opposite way as well. There are fast travel spots at most of the major cities, and you can't fast travel from any were. You usually have to buy a ride or you can get a few teleport spells. You therefor will spend a lot of time walking across the terrain which can become a little tedious over a long amount of time. But the looks of the environment, endless dungeons, wandering monsters and bandits to occupy you while treading the long roads and woods of Morrowind.

You will also find a great many side quests and people you can help while traveling. Along with the open world and endless exploration you also have a very long and interesting main quest line as well as numerous guild quest lines. Though the role playing in Morrowind isn't as in depth in the ways of choice making like the Bioware RPGs such as Dragon Age and Mass Effect, in Morrowind you can pick up anything, steal anything, kill anyone, pick any lock, and speak with anyone. Though you can also get caught.

Sadly along with the truly open world you can easily break a quest line by finding a quest item in a dungeon and sell it. Hours later someone will ask you to retrieve it. By then you will have probably have forgotten who you sold it to. You can also accidentally kill a quest character. If you kill a quest character you will be advised to reload, but as for the guild quests you will just have to quit your life as a mass murder if you want to keep from breaking a quest line.

While doing the major quests you will come across some choices that will add to the replay value of the game. You will also be confronted with quests that you may not carry out if you want to roleplay that in depth.

If you have played Oblivion and Skyrim you will be amazed by the length and size of Morrowind. From the length of the quest lines to the size of the world they generally get shorter and smaller each game.
Along with the length of the main quest line in my opinion is the best. It is by far the most interesting. Though Oblivion's is probably just as good, but as I said shorter.

The environment and architecture is also the most unique. You will find some traditional castles, Victorian style buildings, buildings and towers grown my sorcerers, and shacks and huts.

And to clock out all I've got to say is if you spen the un-godly amount of time to finish EVERYTHING in the game you can get two expansions along with player created content.

First of all, this is a very fun game. I find myself playing this game all of the time. If I am bored and have nothing to play I can always depend on Skate 3 to help brighten my day and give me something fun to do. Now let's move on to the learning curve. I will admit, I am horrible at skateboarding both in reality and virtually. The game in my opinion is hard even on the easiest difficulty, however that does not take away from it's overall fun factor. You can up the difficulty to make the physics and speed more realistic, although I have only tried that a couple times, as I am not that great at the game. I have beaten the game and it was very rewarding. You obtain many unlockables for your Create a Skate park. Create a skate park is very fun; I find myself here the most. There are so many options to build. If you are looking for a game that is very fun and that will challenge you, be sure to pick this game up. By the way, if you are looking for an online experience you might as well pass this game up as the online community is quite dead. Thanks, and I hope you enjoy!

Mon, 30 Apr 2012 16:42:01 -0700 Arthusbuttkick reviewed Dungeons & Dragons: Daggerdale for the Xbox 360... http://www.gamespot.com/dungeons-and-dragons-daggerdale/user-reviews/792846/platform/xbox360/ ...and gave it a 4.0.

The game seems like it was simply tossed together. The graphics are nothing special and the controls are a pain. The quests are about as cliche as you can get and the combat quickly gets boring.

You also don't have much customization. You have to be a Elf/hunter. You can mix classes and races at all. There really isn't much to say about the game. There is multiplayer, but the servers are very empty.

There is some enjoyment if you set your expectations VERY low and were to just accept it as a arcade style game. You can easily find a much better game if you want arcade style or RPGs. The game doesn't even have any Role playing which is a huge let down seeing that this is a D&D based game.

I'd say it might be worth it if you could get it for a few bucks, but you have to have the key code. Not that anyone would go through the trouble of pirating such a boring game. Don't by this game who ever you are.

Mon, 30 Apr 2012 15:22:12 -0700 Arthusbuttkick reviewed Silent Hill 2: Restless Dreams for the Xbox... http://www.gamespot.com/silent-hill-2-restless-dreams/user-reviews/792842/platform/xbox/ ...and gave it a 8.5.

The Good:
Interesting story-
Excellent environment-
A great many thrills and very scary-
Incredible main Antagonist-

The Bad:
Bad acting and wording-
Some of the story comes across very corny-
Maria is as annoying as hell...

Silent Hill 2 is a very grim and terrifying game. The story is very interesting and has it's share of surprises. You protagonist is a just an ordinary guy so therefor is no the best at combat. Making the game realistic in that way and gives you a good scenes of vulnerability and makes the game a true 'survival' game. The puzzles you come across are some of my favorite and really make you think.

Your character, James Sunderland, is haunted be a deep guilt. You find out at the end of the game. The creation of this guilt is a horrifying grim reaper known as the Pyramid head by most. This horrifying creature is the embodiment of James' guilt.

As good as the plot is the voice acting and wording is done very poorly and you often can't help but make fun of and laugh at the dialogue. James' voice is also very flat and often a plain mono tone. Not to mention that he is one of Silent Hill's more stupid inhabitants. Mind you he's still a very interesting protagonist.
Along with the bad acting you get a very annoying side character, Maria. What was intended for he was to create a character that would tempt James with a different life in contrast to him trying to find his wife. Think of Spider man and how he is often torn between his life as Spider-Man and his life as Peter Parker with Marry Jane. Sadly Konami only ended making someone who will make you cringe every time she talks. This could of been done well, but sadly did not.

As for game play Silent Hill does very well. The combat is intentionally clunky and difficult. This will often force you to either run or sneak past the various monsters. The difficulty is just right though so you wont be stuck for a ridiculously long time, but still provides a challenge.

There are also a good number of thrills and terrifying moments that will have you on edge through the whole game. The horror is especially focused on the psychological terror/horror. You will often here noises that you will be sure that are a monster that may or may not be there. The environment is also vary horrifying and grim. Though some of the monsters are rather a little bit much to the point you not the scared of them. One looks like a table with feet.

Bottom line Silent Hill is an excellent game and is worth the time and money.

Sun, 29 Apr 2012 23:34:21 -0700 Arthusbuttkick reviewed Silent Hill: Downpour for the Xbox 360... http://www.gamespot.com/silent-hill-downpour/user-reviews/792800/platform/xbox360/ ...and gave it a 9.5!

The Good:
Beautiful look, edge, and feel.-
Endless thrills-
Best and most intriguing story line ever in the Silent Hill saga as well as the most credible-
Replay value is high.

The Bad-
Often will experience a sudden drop in frame rate.-
Open world will some times leave you lost as to what to do next.-

Silent Hill Downpour is in my opinion the best the Konami has created. Here I will tell you why.
First of all one of the biggest improvements are the story and voice acting. In previous Silent Hill games you often can't help but laugh and make fun of a good bit of the dialogue. I'm not saying that the previous Silent Hill stories were in any way bad. Many were quite amazing. But the acting and bad wording would often detract from the plot. In Downpour the acting and script have you begging for more at the end of each cut scene. Note the longest cinematic like in any game is the opening scene. So don't think that your going to be spending a long amount of time watching people talk and less time killing monsters because your not.

Another big plus to the game would have to be the large emphasis on survival in a slightly different way that the Silent Hill 2 did it, but just as good. In the last few Silent Hill Games it started to become to much action oriented. Especially Homecoming were you a ex-marine. I often found myself stuck in a action/shooter mind set and lost the suspense and the thrills. In Downpour you are always scrambling to find a new weapon once your current one has broken. You can virtually use anything to fight from a chair to a crowbar. You will come across a few guns in the game, but ammo is very scarce which is more realistic than coming across ridiculously powerful types of ammo in someones apartment.

You'll find a variety of new demonic monsters awaiting to rip you apart once you set foot in Silent Hill. Before you get there even. Although I would have expected a little more variety in the newest installment of the Silent hill saga, but they each have their own preference of tactics that make each one terrifying in their own way. One disappointment I had with one of the more terrifying and stronger monsters is that he will seldom follow you into another room. This often then leaves you running to these "safe zones" when confronted and ends up leaving you not as terrified of these brutes as you could be. Although just about all other monsters won't hesitate to give chase to you. It's easy to lose them while running on the streets, but when in the confines of the indoors you will often have to be very quick to get away from one of your pursuers.

The sound track is varied and helps with the story telling along with the horrifying and disturbing sound effects. There is an infinite amount of sound effects that will have you looking over your shoulder. Which you can literally do now in Downpour. You can also throw what ever weapon you holding at a distant enemy if it's nearly broken or you need to make a quick get away.

Along with the incredible main plot you will be following you also have a fair amount of side quests. These often will greatly increase what you'll get out of the story as well as influence the ending. In one you come across a bird trapped in a cage. When you release it you will have a quick look at a flash back of you protagonist's past. Each time you find a bird you get a little more of the flash back. Some of the quests aren't as interesting, but will often pull you in like this one.

All I can say is WOW! I have been playing the wrong type of RPGs this whole time! I thought RPGs like Skyrim and Oblivion were the most satisfying. Don't get me wrong, they are great games, but lets face it; there's no learning curve, no strategy, in my opinion. Basic turn based RPGs are fun aswell, but seem to be very repetitive. This is my first Disgaea game and I am very impressed by it. The gameplay is amazing, after you win a battle you feel like you have accomplished something. I have never played or even thought about playing a grid-based or SRPG after I watched my friend play FF: tactics. He absolutely hated it. I have a feeling that I may like it now that I have a new found resepect for this particular type of RPG. I have already put over 17 hours in, playing it 12 hours straight when I purchased it. All-in-all this is a very good game; easily a 9.5/10.

Graphics - 8.5/10
Gameplay - 10/10
Replay - 10/10

When I first heard about this game, my reaction was, "meh, it's just another cheaply made game for the PC" But in all actuality it's a masterpiece. The game itself is very addictive, and fun for all ages. Moreover, the difficulty is just right; not too hard, not too easy. There are also plenty of unlockables/in game trophies to keep you coming back for more. You could easily play this game for over 100 hours trying to complete the main story/mini games/puzzles/survival/shop items. I know its almost impossible to find a perfect game, but this game comes very close, especially for the replay factor. Please do yourself a favor and put down the angry birds and play a real game that gives you so much more to do.

First off, I have to say this has improved from it's last game. The regular Ninja Gaiden for Xbox. The controls are easy to get use to, and most of the time you'll have to do multiple attacks to different foes to process through the game. You'll learn new moves and techniques by picking up scrolls through out the game, as well as new power attacks and you can up grade them as well. There's also many different types of weapons you can use, making the game more in depth and more versatile. The graphics are nearly flawless in every way, making the Xbox get pushed to it's limit. You can tell that the creators of the game, put lots of effort into making this game very difficult. And, you'll find that each difficulty that you beat, gets much harder after you beaten the one you just completed. Which attracts many hardcore gamers to play this game. Just try the difficulty called "Master Ninja" you'll understand what I'm talking about, when you try that. This game also has a ton of replay value. From different costumes, and new game modes, you'll find yourself entertained for a long time. I don't want to give anything away to you of what exactly you'll unlock, but you will enjoy every bit of challenge that awaits you. I highly recommend this game if you want a challenge for the ages and you want to accomplish a game that most people couldn't do. You'll love every minute of it.

This game is simply amazing from start to finish. You will use every inch of Snake's stealth to get pass guards and other various challenges that will leave you breathless through out the game. Snake has a variety of different weapons at his disposal. However, the most important one, would probably be his way of sneaking up on people without them knowing. That is your best bet to get through the levels. The voice acting is breathtaking. You can tell that the creators took the extra effort into every character when came done to this. The graphics pushes the PS2 to it's limit, with great cut scenes, and marvelous display of different landscapes. The controls are easy to grasp, if you haven't played any of the Metal Gear Solid series. So, you shouldn't have a problem with that at all. There's much replay value in this game as well, giving you the opportunity to receive secret items that you weren't able to get through your first run through. All in all, this game is remarkable. And, should definitely not be missed to play. Not to mention it is extremely cheap to buy now. I hope you'll take the time to get this, you'll be wanting more after your finish with it.

This game is a great start for any RPG player. You have to appreciate the hard work and detail put in this game. The Unique characters in the game makes you really fall in love with all it's has to offer. Many of the characters have there own different types of spells and promotion classes. However, you do meet some characters through out the story that share the same qualities. For example, the wizard. There's many things to do as well, side quests to receive different weapons for certain characters. You can also gain certain items like the Mythril to make stronger weapons. It becomes very addicting trying to find all the Mythril so you can have all your weapons in the best of conditions. The type of battle system used in this game is turn-based. Kind of similar to some of the Final Fantasy series. For each character you have spaces you can move to. Kind of like chess pieces. Some characters can move in more spaces then others. You receive items at certain parts of the game that can help enhance your space moves. So, it can get really in depth and tactical deciding which people you would like to have more freedom to move then others. You get stronger as you defeat enemies and bosses through out the story. There's many characters to get in this game as well. And, you'll find your self playing this game a couple of times, just trying to get all of the characters in the game and seeing what they can do in battle. The story line begins with a King that gets taken over by a bad spirit that's been hiding away for centuries. It's get more interesting through out the game, making you become somewhat attached to it till the end.

I rate this game a 10. The creators weren't afraid to take chances and make a very unique style of play that now final fantasy tactics use. Not to mention this is one of the first and only RPG titles for Sega console. I highly recommend trying to find this game online. Since it's a very rare game to find it at a local hobby store. It's much easier going on Ebay or Amazon to buy. If your interested in getting a old school RPG, this is the #1 game. You'll love it from the beginning to the end!

I liked it. Pretty good game play and replay value. Truly enjoyed it. It's amazing how this series continues to amaze me with it's quality of in depth value of searching through cities. I hope they continue to make more of these titles, the creators prove that you can actually have a good series of titles consistently without boring or being repetitive with the same ways that made the games successful. I also like the voices in the game. You can tell they put a lot of effort into each and every series that they made. It makes me want to repeat the talk again I had with a random person in the game, it sounds beautiful. Be patient with some of the tasks that are given to you through out the game. Sometimes it can be very tough at times if your an average player that is just starting. Patience is key, but you'll feel more gratifying once you accomplish the missions. Which it makes it much more sweeter beating the game and all the missions. I highly recommend getting this game as well as the others, if you truly enjoy a unique experience.

Mon, 05 Dec 2011 20:45:53 -0800 Arthusbuttkick reviewed SimTower for the PC... http://www.gamespot.com/simtower/user-reviews/782428/platform/pc/ ...and gave it a 9.0!

Much like its counterpart Sim City, Sim Tower is a simulator were you build a skyscraper from the ground up.
You can choose from a number of things to put into your tower. You can rent out business offices, apartments, or sell homes. Your tower will get bad ratings if you put different rooms next to each other due to noise.

You can build up to 100 floors and get special items you can build when you get a higher rating or more traffic through your tower. Working with the elevator system can be frustrating, but once you get the hang of it it's a blast.

You also want to make you tower nice so you get a better rating. Once you get a better rating you will start to get VIP visitors. Usually if you have apartments. If they are pleased with there stay your rating goes up even higher, and you will sometimes unlock different thing you can add to you tower to make it better. Such as underground parking.

As for graphics they are very basic, but you generally don't care about the looks in this game. They are bearable. The building tools are very convenient, and the level of speeds you may choose from are also done well.

I recommend this game to you. It is altogether a addicting game as well as rewarding.

Mon, 05 Dec 2011 20:23:16 -0800 Arthusbuttkick reviewed Black & White for the PC... http://www.gamespot.com/black-and-white/user-reviews/782427/platform/pc/ ...and gave it a 7.5.

Well ahead of it's time, this game makes you a God. It is your choice to either choose good or evil, Black or White.

This game is a very unique real time strategy game, but very different from any other RTS. Instead of building an army, you raise a pet. That pet becomes the symbol of all who follow and worship you. You pet will watch what you do and imitate it. Over the course of the game he will grow, become more intelligent, and more like you.

One fun little thing unique to this game is that you can pick up almost anything, and then set it some place else, or hurl it into a village building.

The other unique thing about this RTS is one of the main thing you spend your time doing is getting people to worship you. You preform miracles at villages and can teach you pet to do so as well. Or if you take the evil path you get people to worship you out of fear. You toss thing at there villages and cast fire and lighting down on them. You also teach your pet to do the same. Soon your pet will get my follower by either healing villagers and bringing them food, or casting fire and lightning at them. Also the more powerful he gets the better he will be at fighting other God's pets or creatures.

You also will end up working against other Gods and trying to win the worship of the villages before any of the other Gods do. You can also command your follower to build thing that allow you village to grow bigger and get you more worship. The more people you have worshiping you, the more power you have to gain belief of other villages, or destroy another God's temple.

It's also difficult to get used to all the unique features in this game. Such as sing command and attacks with miracles.

The down side to this game is it can get very drawn out, and go very slowly. Training your pet can also be tiring, but very rewarding when he starts to do your majesties will with out question. Be it to please and bring healing to you follower, or feast on their flesh and bring fear to them all.

The expansion pack, Creature island gives you a choice of several other creatures you may choose to raise. You also can go to creature island were you may further train your creature, and play a wide variety of mini game that are apart of a story line you can do.

All in all, this game is very fun and enjoyable. I recommend this game to you if you enjoy RTS, have patience, and enjoy a very unique gaming adventure unlike any other game out there.

Being a simple beat 'em' up shooter is what makes this game so great. You play this game, you are going to kill things. It's one of the only shooter were all you do is fight that is enjoyable, and dose not get boring after you have killed 10 or 20 demons.

So the story is you get in a car wreck and die. You end up in Purgatory and God sends an angel to you. You are offered your life back if you hunt down and kill the dukes of Hell. The story of the game is okay, but not great. You get one cinematic after every 5 levels or so.

As for Game play as I said earlier it's a beat 'em' up shooter. The weapons you get are just vicious. On shoots wooden stakes and often pins the unfortunate demon to the wall. Often producing a gruesome yet pleasing effect. You have a compass always pointing you to were you need to go. So you don't waist time walking around aimlessly, and get to each fight all the better. The quick saves are often so you don't always have to stop and save yourself. The game play, fighting, and chain reactions you get in this game are very solid and few glitches.

The look of the game is rather unique. It's almost random at time. One level you will mow down cultists is a cathedral. Another you will run through an asylum killing possessed looking patients, and prisoners. It always leaves you wondering what and were you will be next.

The boss fights give a moderate challenge, and are very impressive. There are few games that match this one in the size of the bosses. They are so massive. One will swing it's are from an extremely long distance and easily hit you. They use a wide range of powers and provide you the challenge of adapting to the situation.

Another interesting feature in this game is the tarot card. At each level you can unlock a tarot card the gives you a special bonus to you fights. To unlock the card you must accomplish a certain task set for each level. Such as get max amount of coins in level or kill all monsters will only one kind of gun.

The only thing about this game I could think of that I don't like is it sometimes get a little repetitive. Although it rarely dose since it is so well put together. So I would recommend buying this game. Thank you. :)

Fri, 02 Dec 2011 19:56:58 -0800 Arthusbuttkick reviewed The Legend of Zelda for the NES... http://www.gamespot.com/the-legend-of-zelda/user-reviews/782157/platform/nes/ ...and gave it a 10.0!!!

The first of it's kind, The Legend of Zelda is a highly addicting game were you are confronted with numerous puzzles. You are Link out to save Princess Zelda. You start out with nothing, and must travel through out a large map gaining power and items to save her. You play looking down on Link and must solve many riddles to beat the game.

The Good: Challenging riddles, Unique boss fights, Classic adventure story, one of the only NES games that you can save.

The Bad: Large map is hard to remember were anything is, Few save points.

As you progress through the game you come across better items that allow you to overcome stronger bosses and fight different monsters more easily.
The combat is difficult, but entertaining. You also have to really think when confronted with a difficult riddle or puzzle. Often ending in frustration ; though the reward is worth while. All the dungeons are unique and present different monsters that compliment their surroundings and have different way to defeat them. Though Zelda isn' to much about the fighting as it is the puzzles and riddles.

As for the graphics their what you should expect from an NES game, but are instantly classic, and grow on you. If you are already a Zelda fan then this game will give you one fun filled adventure, and a look at Link when he was first created. The best fights are the boss fights. Each one is totally unique from the other and take awhile to grasp sometimes, but are entertaining and challenging.

The most angering aspect of this game would be it's scale. You didn't have a map so you have to rely on memory for the whole game unless you either sketch out the map or find a picture of it online. You also get hit by many monsters while looking for the next dungeon, and sometimes enter a new dungeon with hardly any health.

Tue, 29 Nov 2011 13:04:14 -0800 Arthusbuttkick reviewed Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic for the Xbox... http://www.gamespot.com/star-wars-knights-of-the-old-republic/user-reviews/781876/platform/xbox/ ...and gave it a 10.0!!!

One of the best Star Wars games yet, KOTOR bring to life a unique aspect of the Star Wars universe to you. It's is set in a time were there are just as many Sith as Jedi. The Sith being it's own faction. Since this is a role playing game you may choose the light or dark side of the force and learn the force abilities.

There are a great many choices and paths you can take to get different outcomes. Along with your choices the story is very imersive, and makes you want to keep playing so you can find out what happens next. The look ans sheen of the world and it's environment are just beautiful, and imersive.

The story is worthy to be made into a movie. (but we know that's not gonna happen. :P ) You will think of Star Wars in a totally different way when you play this. In a good way too. The graphics are very good for it's time and the game play easy to get the hang of. May the force be with you.
