This is one of the games i am really looking forward to the next gen. Being a big racing game fan, it's something interesting about Driveclub that appeals to me. The social aspect of this is something already attempted in Forza and Need for Speed, but hasn't been completely succesful as of yet. This is something that really interest me in how they can use the potential. The game also looks really good and i hope it's as good as i think it is.

Watch_Dogs:

Watch_Dogs has an interesting open world concept. Making it a realistic story about hackers and crime. It seems like an interesting approach to a game, and it also looks like a next gen game. It also seems to give the player a big sandbox game to explore.

Assassin's Creed 4: Black Flag:

Even after the mixed bag that was Assassin's Creed 3, i am still looking forward to the new setting and what they can bring to use with the new gen. I also hope they go back to the formula what made the earlier games so good

The Crew:

This looks like a new take on racing and social gaming. It looks interesting and i am interested the depth of the game and what options you have in this.

Battlefield 4:

Battlefield 4 looks really good with the new engine. Bigger maps, biggers scale and just more awesomeness. It looks like something the next gen consoles can really take advantage of. It looks amazing and i have been a Battlefield fan since the 1942 days.

Dragon Age 3: Inquisition:

This game is something i am really looking forward to. The series is something that stands close to my heart and has really been my favorite RPG with the Final Fantasy games. I hope they can really show us something special.

Star Wars: Battlefront:

I am so looking forward to this game, this is the game i am looking forward to the most. There have been doubts and whispers this ever being made. But it is! I hope it's as good as my expectations are for it.

Final Fantasy 15:

I hope this is also as good as the trailer and expectations are for this game. It's been a long time since we have seen anything. But it does look like it has potential and looks great.

It feels weird to have been gone so long. So much has changed. I see my old friends are still here which is really nice to see. Most will be shocked or stunned to see me back. The state of unions was loosing ground when i left and now it seems like unions are all but dead. gamespace banner union's demise is nothing short of shocking. I figured most unions would die except this one due new game spaces needing art to represent them while old games needing a fresh new look, things have changed. I hope to get caught up with old friends and hopefully make new ones. I am trying to get used to the new gs layout and hope that my achievements get loaded soon. I have alot to sync with gs so it may be awhile. Until next time....

When Namco Bandai stated last week that they'll be going in "guns blazing" and handle the upcoming sequel to their niche cult-hit Dark Souls as a "massive, massive" AAA release, it immediately put many Demon's / Dark Souls fans like myself on notice in regards to its future. The escalating potential of the series ultimately succumbing to a similar fate as that of Resident Evil, Dead Space, and all the other grossly misguided, bloated and compromised AAA commercial "failures" released over the last few years has become quite disconcerting for a good chunk of its modestly-sized yet fiercely dedicated fanbase.

In a recent post, Jim Sterling of The Escapist puts the legitimate fears of the game's fans and the broken mentality of AAA publishers into perspective quite well: click here for the video link.

The video pretty much covers most of my own thoughts on the matter. While I do cling to a mild amount of forced optimism that Dark Souls will somehow find a way to stay the exception to the same old tired industry trends, I'll admit it's getting harder and harder to ignore the writing on the wall. A part of me always knew the surprising success enjoyed by the series up to this point was like blood in the water, attracting corporate sharks who would inevitably seek to devour everything that made these games what they were.. all for the faint chance of being the next mainstream approved clone of the current western-developed cashcows.

Aside from their growing number of overhyped failures, there is one thing that I can say AAA publishers have consistently succeeded at these days: making it loud and clear to any niche title's fanbase that their loyal patronage will simply never be enough. They've firmly established that it's just more important to them to risk everything in an effort to appeal to larger audiences that'll never actually give a sh*t about their games, than it is maintaining the fixed audience that actually does. To them, why settle on the revenue their franchises can realistically produce, when they can shoot for a grander piece of the pie they can never truly have outside of their own personal delusions?

I never did leave really, I just went over to Playfire, so that I could work more with the Clan that I was associated with for the most part on here better, we (Combatsoldiers Chaotic Retribution) moved as a whole over to Playfire, but sadly the Powers that be on Playfire decided to remove the groups function & so our Clan currently is in abstentia. For some odd reason, the rumour was that I had left here & I wasn't partaking in anything on here. I did frequent the site, but just not as much, nor was there any thing to comment on. Then I saw something that caught my eye & I made a comment regarding it & someone else saw my comment and assumed that I had left & had returned, if someone wants to know where I am or what I am doing, message me through PSN ( DaMiGiSan) or send me a message through here.

School's started back up which kind of sucks for me. I had to leave my old school for very complecated reasons but now I'm the new kid in a different county. So far I still don't really know anyone to closely but I do have quite a few acquantices I talk to in the hallways andin class and such. I plan on joining lacrosse so that I get involved in school events and what not. Should be fun.

As far as gaming goes, I've been pretty idle. I've been playing Shadow Compex a lot, love that game to death. Well worth $15. I finally got around to playing God of War 2 so I'm also thoroughly enjoying that. It has a very epic feel to it, great fun. Lastly, I'm playing a lot of Halo 3 online. I love all things Halo so this should be expected of me but this is the first time I've really felt attached to Halo 3 like all the other Halos.

Anyways, I hope everyone is doing well!

Announcements: last.fm on X-box live, video service redone and releced as Zune tv, watch/listen to movies/music with friends on X-box Live, partnership with facebook a.k.a. facebook on X-box live,Natal X-Box360's version of the Eyetoy only a thousand times better (or at least that's what their trying to say), The conference over all was pretty good even though I don't own an X-Box 360. They also had their own technical difficulties during the preview of Shadow . I was not happy about Metal Gear Solid 4 being ported to the X-Box 360 I nearly cried (Konami you sell-outs). Project Natal (as they are calling it) is like an eyetoy only it captures full body movements and has voice recognition. The only problem I have with this is that they say that it will take away the need of a controller and that anyone can use it. My question is doesn't that mean that your taking away from a portion of your other users, like people who are mute or people who are partially paralyzed?

Lets hope that GameSpot can get it together for the Sony and Nintendo conferences. If they don't I'll do this for the other conferences too.

That's one of my all time favorite lines from Cast Away . Anyways.....

I just thought I would make a quick blog to let you guys know that I am in fact still breathing. It's been almost three months and I realized that I had gotten some new comments on my October blog lol.

I responded to the last few, sry if I missed any. I still can't figure out how make a space so that I can post multiple responses in the same comment without it all running together. This new html sucks.... Anyone know how?

Nothing important though. Third week of school and already had a test today.....ridiculous. But there is some good news. Some of the people that were banned have been coming back to the forums over the last couple weeks. Although a few of them claim they are vets but won't tell me the name of their old profile.....suspicious indeed

I actually skipped class today to watch the Obama inaugauration. Man can that limo drive any slower up to the capitol lol. It's supposed to be historic and I can tell people I saw it so I thought wth it's only one day of class

Well guys hope that wasn't too long. Hope your holidays were fantastic! Good luck and God Bless!!!

I got quite involved in the forums and unions i was spending a lot of tme on them and was very busy posting. However over the past 6 months i have started to use the site less and less but not just that i am actually playing video games less and less.

The past couple of months i have bought about 10-12 games and have hardly played any of them. I have had Resistance 2 for nearly two weeks now and have still yet to even take the disc out of the box. That was just an example basically all the games i have bought lately are similar or i might of put an hour or two at most that is it.

This is why i have i wouldn't say grown out of video games but i just don't have time for gaming anymore with work and my social life which has been very busy and i just don't get drawn to play video games anymore.

This holiday i think will be my last big holiday season for gaming after buying around 10-12 games and not really playing any of them i think while the hobby has been awesome it has come to an end for me. I'm sure i will still play video games but it will probably only be an hour or so a weekat best.

This is it then im leaving Gamespot i will pop in every now and againand it will be the same with gaming i will be online every now and again that's it though.

I loved the first three installments of the series but didn't connect as well with Dual Strike and Black Hole Rising as much as I did with the first... Well this one, for me, brings it back. It takes it back to the basics but also revamps it at the same time... Cuts down the amount of units, obnoxiously powerful CO powers, and the RPG element that could rig your CO even more. In other words, they balanced this game out hardcore.

The storyline is much, much darker(and it's reflected in the art style). And this time around the story is actually halfway decent... Not really generic "lol im gonna take over teh world in my darth vader-esque outfit." So far, I'm on chapter 25. Haven't started 25 yet because I'm gonna go play SSBM for quite a while.

FC is 360901-546203. Comment/message me if you added me. I'm up for 2v2 against computers or 1v1.

Also: Elite Beat Agents is a pretty dang amazing game.

If there is one thing I am, its a mutha f*%king gamer. There has been way too many things happening in my life recently, some very personal, others game related. For an example, assasin's creed was overall disappointing, and UT3 made it out before 08. I sit here now at 6:15 AM unable to sleep because many things have been bugging the Sh^t out of me. The main reason is because I found out that my GF was planning on cheating on me by taking a week trip to visit a complete stranger in Chicago. Funny thing is she met this person on my PS3 in Resistance..............What the hell is going on!? Is nothing sacred anymore? My own PS3 turned my GF against me. But whatever, its better i caught her before it happened. Best part of my story is that I kicked her out of my house at 4 in the morning and told her I will never see, hear, nor speak to her ever again. Overall, it was all in my favor, i can't say I'm going to be in the best mood, but hell, its better than what was going to happen. All I have now is my Games and my friends (more than enough). I needed to make a rant because i have nothing better to do right now lool.

RANT SECTION:

GAMES

new extended FFXIII trailers should be floating the net already, they come from the Square Enix DVD entitled CLOUD. If you cant find them then try kotaku.com, they are on there.

MUSIC

If anyone knows where to get the song Sour times by The Blank Theory I would greatly appreciate it. Its possibly the greatest cover song ever, originally from Portishead.

NEWS

I pretty much covered this section in my rant .

RANDOM

I wonder which physics engine is better, Havok from HL2 or the one used in Crysis?
