Oh yeah,I wanna say Xbox One sucks, yeah I know it's not out yet but I'm talking about the system itself, not necessarily it's game library(yet).

Here are my top 10 Playstation 3 Exclusives. Remember this is just my opinion so you don't have to agree with it. These are the games that made me a very proud PS3 owner. All the images are the European Box Art. I am also doing this as a 2 part blog to keep users in surspense as to what my number 1 PS3 Exclusive is and to not make people get bored of read it in one big blog.

10,Resistance 3 Whilst I thought number 1 was great number 2 lacked I felt in many areas but number 3 certainly delivered with many interesting places on Joe Capellis battle against the Chimera. An excellent pacing and whilst the multiplayer was far from perfect it was still good fun and I loved the story. Normally games fade in the 3rd installment but I felt this was the best of the bunch.

Resistance 3 Boxshot

9.InFamous: InFamous was an open world Sand Box type game which gave you alot of freedom and some awesome electricial powers. As Cole McGrath you had the choice of doing either good or bad at certain points in the game. It had alot of replay value and alot of upgrades. The  melee combat was a bit lacking though.

inFamous Boxshot

8.Ratchet and Clank Future A Crack in Time: The last good Ratchet and Clank game. A Crack in Time featured an amazing story and some returning favorites as well giving both characters about a good chunk of each section. The Clank puzzles were tricky but very good espically those that you go for when you try to get a Golden Bolt and the ability to navigate the sector made it a verygood feeling to explore. The downside no multiplayer and the lack of new weapons to the series was a dissapointment.

Ratchet & Clank Future: A Crack in Time Boxshot

7.Heavy Rain: One thing I must complent Sony on this gen is giving us lots of new IPs and Heavy Rain was a very interesting concept. You play the role of 4 characters. Ethan Mars a dad who has to find his son,Madison Paige a journalist who is interesting in finding out the Orgami Killer, Norman Jayden from the FBI sent to find the identity of the Orgami Killer and Scott Shelby a former police officer. The game has so many different outcomes at various locations and with multipul endings it is worth doing certain parts again. While some diss that it's mainly a movie for me it's genius.

Heavy Rain Boxshot

6.God of War 3: Whilst it's not as good as the first two games because of the lack of puzzles and the story isn't as strong the bosses really make this game shine from the beginning. Battles against Posideon,Hercules and Cronos are some of the best in the series. Also it showed what the PS3 is truly capable of.

God of War III Boxshot

So that is part 1 concluded stay tuned for part 2 to find out what PS3 exclusive is my favorite and also please comment on the games list.

With the news that Ford Australia is closing shop after 85 years because they now

feel that their business is no longer sustainable.

Holden is the only producer of automobiles left, will they now be in better shape?

After all they do have a history of fantastic trucks, utes and cars.

not to mention the absolute best advert of all time.

When Microsoft revealed the 21st of May as their showcase for the future of the entertainment medium I was excited by the prospect. Having been disappointed by Sony's offerings of sequels and pseudo Frankenstein controllers, I was hoping MS would offer something more...much more. Well we all saw the console which is more than what Sony did, however upon feasting it's rather bland 1980's vhs player styled design should they have showed it at all? A small part of me thought it was deliberate in an attempt to make the console look similar to those of old, those from my generation. Maybe they wanted to grab the attention of the Space Invaders elite?

If that was the intention then they failed as the new Xbox One (it's now official name) looked more akin to a set top box than a console with the same features enjoyed by that said medium. As I sit here a cool breeze gusting through the balcony doors and a refreshing Orange juice greets my lips I wonder if this is the future of gaming? The Xbox One reveal seemed nothing more than MS wanting to get into a territory already frequented by other companies who quite frankly have much more experience with the subject matter. Has MS decided to put the other entertainment mediums first and games second? Such a prospect is so bizzarre and non coherent I dread to think it.

Then there is the rather more alarming concern of used game fee's and one user per console mentality. Do MS honestly expect a married couple to both buy the same version of the same game so both can enjoy it on the same console? In another world it would be comedy gold the kind of content that Laurel and Hardy would use to captivate audiences worldwide. The worrying feeling however is that this situation is no joke and it's a nightmare that we will never awake from. No matter how one looks at it the reveal raised more questions than eyebrows and alerted the gaming world to some very serious questions.

Microsoft showed off the XBOX One in a rather unimpressive showing (it's just like their past E3 presentations), and gave it a confusing name. How confusing? Watch AVGN's Chronologically Confused videos and find out. Already, there are other things that bug me about it, like paying a fee to play a used game.

In other news...

Mortal Kombat 9 is announced for PC after two years, though the port isn't directly handled by Netherrealm Studios. Instead it's... High Voltage Software. The SAME High Voltage Software who was just as guilty as other developers in developing a crap tons of Wii shovelware as well as have a hand in the piece of garbage known as Kinect Star Wars. Admittedly I DID like the Conduit, but even through Wii's limited shooter library, there were still better games (like the CoD4 port done by Treyarch and Eurocom's Goldeneye Remake was great too).

I really hope Netherrealm knows what they are doing.

Now a rumor...

A rumor appeared on TSSZ (shared by GoNintendo) that the new Super Smash Bros (co-developed by Namco) may not only have Sonic return, but may feature an appearance from Bayonetta. Should this rumor be true... why Bayonetta? Yes you could argue it's because of Nintendo's involvement in Bayonetta 2, but here's another issue, Bayonetta left no legacy to Nintendo gamers (at least not yet), so it would still make no sense to add her. Say what you will about Solid Snake's appearance in Brawl after the Metal Gear franchise being more present on PlayStation consoles, but at least Snake has left a deeper legacy with Nintendo deeper than Bayonetta ever will.

***SPOILER***

To end on something not news related, I was being really nerdy when playing Oblivion and named by enchanted Electric Akaviri Dai-Katana after Raiden (Metal Gear agent/cyborg ninja, not Mortal Kombat's Earthrealm thundergod) and I started playing Assassin's Creed 1.

I'll be forced to buy a Kinect that I have no interest in using if I want the new Xbox. Great.

Am I seriously supposed to be excited about the ability to watch TV on my TV?

For the small portion of the show devoted to video games, they announced that we'll be able to play Forza and Call of Duty on the Xbox One. Whoopty freaking doo.

If that's the best Microsoft can do to get me interested in their next console, I'll be playing all my next gen games on a PS4.

I'm getting old.

I joined when I was 16, now my birthday is around the corner and I'm about to hit 21. Yeah.....21.....what have I been doing with my life!? (And for anyone asking, no. I don't/won't drink upon my birthday.)

I'd say I've really only been here about 4 years or so because my internet had gone down for nearly a year through it all. And I was gone nearly ALL of 2012 due to stuff, then college. Yup, way to go to college rather late eh? To be fair I did sign up when I was 19. (later 20 ) I don't feel 20 though. I feel like....like.....like I'm still whatever age I want to think.

Well, since this is a grand occasion I decided I'll look back throughout the years starting from the top.

OK, here goes.

2008: I forgot what happened, blogged every second. Vanished due to internet.

2009: Depressed I forgot what happened, blogged every day. (And I THINK I met Laurie sometime that year, I forgot. )

2010: Depressed, but stuff happened! I nearly blogged every day. I think I met Alon sometime that year too, not 100% sure though.

2011: Err.....what happened? No longer depressed due to stuff.

2012: Wasn't here at all

2013/Now: Broke up with my girlfriend for the second time. Not really a big deal since we thought it would be better that way and we remain friends. Hey, it's better to have someone you really care about as a friend right? You don't tend to lose her that way.

Well, this time line is pretty much a joke. Sorry about that, I just don't remember much because it all blends in together! *throws cup of coffee* I hate coffee! But that's beside the point. I honestly couldn't pin point everything though, totally not being lazy at all. Trust me

Anyway, I met a ton of awesome people on here (many of which I still talk to on steam or other places like PZ forums, you know who you are ), but there are waaaaay too many to name though. So instead of naming all of them, and forgetting to list someone (in turn possibly making someone feel bad? ) I won't do that. If you've talked to me and you think I like you, then I probably do. And you deserve to be on my unnamed list. Actually, I don't think I've ran into anyone on here that I genuinely disliked. Sure, I may have been in a fight or two but in the end they were just misunderstandings from both sides. Other than that I guess I'm lucky to just have met, err....nice people?

I still hope to visit at least once a day. But I'll be heading back to college soon. But it's summer right? Yeah, but I decided to take one class this summer to get a jump on things.

I know what you're thinking. "That's one class!" Yup, it's one class. So I shouldn't be TOO busy. Except it's like triple the work for summer courses. In a way it's still like a small break, then after that I'm a full time student again. *scratches my head* I should have taken that time off but meh! I'd have nothing to do anyway.

Except....maybe play games or something. I don't want that though.

By the way..... STARBOUND!!!!

Yup, still keeping track of it. And the devs have done a lot of work lately so I'm really hoping for the beta to be during this summer (already pre-ordered as some of you know and it's looking AMAZING!) It's one of my most anticipated games next to....Animal Crossing. Shut up, I'll play whatever I want. Also looking very forward to more Project Zomboid updates. Some people seem to think there's been no work on it for over a year (That's a complete lie) but there has been.

The Release Candidates are on the forums, much, much better than the current build of the game (you can't play them without actually purchasing the game though ).

Ahem...again, if anyone wants to check out a game I personally find is looking fantastic then I'd suggest you click the STARBOUND!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Link.

Yes, the link is safe. It's just for the main blog...page of theirs. There's been daily updates recently.

Well, this totally didn't turn into some weird Starbound advertisement. :/ I better go now.

Good day everyone, and have a great.....errr...day! Bye! (I didn't feel like blogging weirdly today. I will eventually....soon....)

And congratutale me for my 5th year! Here's hoping for another year here, if I'm not TOO busy.

And, I'm not going to a lie, a little scary. The Wii U is failing harder than a Britney Spears comeback tour (and let's face it, she'd make more money), and there's lots of nasty rumors going around about both PS4 and Xbox Infinity. Yes, from now on I'm just going to call it Xbox Infinity because I really like the name and I hope it's the one, and considering they registered xbox8.com, I think it is. Now, there's a few things I need to see from the conference on Tuesday. I'm going to list them and talk about them a little, and this goes for Playstation 4 as well. Sony has yet to show the console, name the price, or confirm if it can play used games yet.

5. Gamertag and arcade games easily transfer - I'll start off with something simple. I'm quite sure the gamertags will easily transfer over as they did this generation, but that also means I want my gamerscore and all my arcade games to transfer over. Obviously they won't be installed (unless they have a transfer cable) but it's important they have all the arcade games available at launch.

4. Keep achievements - I'm not going to lie, I'm an achievement w****. I love to see the pop up gloriously telling me how many points I earned, and yes I realize the higher the points the more of my life I wasted. I'm very sad to see Nintendo is ignoring this, but I'll save my rants on them for a different blog. I love how achievements add value to even the suckiest of games. I played many games I wouldn't of gave chances to, some bad and some surprisingly fun.

3. Revamp Xbox LIVE - I'm not going to get into the whole is LIVE worth it arguement, there's people on this site who will argue until the end of time. What I do want to see is MS borrow ideas from PS PLUS and offer the paying members not only full online and multiplayer privilages, but free games and discounts on XBLA and DLC titles. Sony is making Microsoft look silly in comparision. I love LIVE and my Xbox, but I would never say I wouldn't want my membership to give me more. I think this is a must moving forward.

2. New Exclusive - I'm not talking about exclusives we know about like Halo 5 and Gears 4 and Forza 5 and so on. I'm talking about some mother effin' new IP exclusives like Sony is pumping out. I know MS is working on some, I just hope they don't require Kinect and are awesome. I have no doubt there will at least be a couple, and I'm sure there will be less 3rd party exclusives than last gen by far, but I know MS can be more aggressive with their game stratgey. They have a huge back party of IPs they could use *cough Rare cough* and of course some awesome development teams that can make some interesting new Ips.

1. Allows used games - I'm not sure I have to elaborate on this as I believe most gamers will agree with me and should agree with me. There should be no medium ever that can control what you do with your physical copy after you purchase it. You paid the money and as long as you don't illegaly upload it, you can damn well do with it as you please whether that's lend it to a friend or sell it. I can never support a system that took this right from me. Ever.

Of course I want to see an awesome controller that isn't motion controlled or have stupid touch controls. Of course I want to hear everything is playable offline (and I'm sure it will be, all games can be played offline but probably have to connect to use their new cable thing) and of course I want it a decent prize. Of course I want to see lots of great games, and I care oh so very little about everything else. I don't give 2 craps (and I crap alot) about much else in a console, just the awesome games I can play on it. That's why I bought a 360 when it launched, Microsoft was aggressively pursuing hardcore gamers by stealing exclusives from Sony and really fighting for space. I feel that MS has lost that hunger and drive and fight they had in their first decade of gaming. It  almost feels like they're just resting on their laurels at this point. Not to the extreme level of Nintendo, who refuses to adapt. But I have to believe that will change, as will Sony going forth in next gen. Or there's always that top of the line PC....

I just wanted to jump on here and thank you all for your support recently. Some of you may have seen the report on MCV -- if you haven't, please check it out. Loads of people have since been in touch with some very kind messages, mostly expressing their opinions on what happened, and what's happening to GameSpot UK in general. The GameSpot UK Podcast page offers some particularly interesting feedback, all of which I've been paying very close attention to.

Subsequently, a lot of people have been in touch asking what I'm up to now. The last couple of weeks have been really exciting -- I've put out the first episode of my new weekly podcast, which not only reunited me with Jane Douglas, Lucy James and Dan Maher, but also went to number one on the iTunes chart. I've also been busy writing for Wired, appearing on BBC and Sky News, and updating my YouTube channel with new videos. In the next few weeks I'll be sitting on a BAFTA games journalsim debate, interviewing Rhianna Pratchett at the Hay Festival, talking about the next Xbox on CNN and BBC, and of course heading out to E3. If you're going to be attending any of those events, please say hi, and if not, I look forward to hearing from you over on my website or on Twitter. There's loads more coming down the line, but for now, please let me know what you think! See you all again soon.

It's been a few months since I logged on here to write a blog post and I see nothing has changed. I see the content from the UK branch and Kevin VanOrd's reviews are still stellar, but the website doesn't seem to be under any of the promised overhauls. The communities I used to be a part of are still dead. It's a shame.

What's up with me? Not much. I'll be leaving school in about two months - off to college and then university. Can't be bothered to talk here about non-gaming related stuff, so I'll say I finally got a proper gaming PC and leave it at that. What's everyone else been up to?

How it began, GameSpot contacted me to ask if I knew of any competitive Unreal Tournament gamers for E3 2005. I provided a solid professional gamer and it didn't take long for them to offer a community manager position for the GameCenter service that allowed you to build your own game servers. I've pretty much done everything at GameSpot, from a daily show to stage show assistance but one area I never touched is reviews, and for good reason! It's a tough job.  Outside GameSpot, I've dealt with other games media networks, events, and services but now it's time to see how games are built from a developer's point of view. The game I'll be working with has two of my favorite gameplay components: rocket packs and rocket launchers! LOL But yes, the game is a competitive shooter so I fit right in.

I'll miss all of you but I know we'll keep in touch. As for whether or not you're in good hands, GameSpot staff is working diligently around the clock to rebuild the site. I can't wait to see what's on the horizon!

Well, actually, let me rephrase that.  I know what it was about, so I don't need plot explanations, however... WHAT WAS IT ALL ABOUT?

This movie annoyed me, not least because of the pedigree of talent involved in it.  Premiere Sci Fi Director?  Check.  Enormoulsy talented cast? Check.  Big budget special effects?  Check? Cleverly written script? Che...no wait.

The first third (maybe) was pretty good, Fassbender alone on the ship captured the isolation of space perfectly, but it all seemed to go to shiiiii when the crew woke up.  MY GOD THE CREW!  I cannot entertain such a crushingly STUPID bunch of people and they are supposed to be scientists.  The brightest of the bright.

I am pretty sure all of this has been said ad infinitum by others more adept at critiquing movies, however I would like to point out some exasperating plot holes:  (SPOILERS AHEAD)

1:  The map guy.  The guy with the little drones that go off and map an area, also equipped with high tech GPS, gets lost!  Really?

2:  The biologist guy, brought along on the journey to help with the discovery of our supposed progenitors is scared of a 2000 year old corpse, and yet is happy to entertain, and get stupidly close to a sentient worm thing THAT HAS ACID FOR BLOOD!

3:  The ridiculous connection between Wayland and Charlize's character that just wasn't explored.

4:  Why, oh WHY, if the moon our hapless crew landed on was a site for WMD did our supposed progenitors provide various maps to the location?  I mean, seriously, the whole premise about the Engineers wanting to wipe humanity out after creating it is around the idea that each progeny secretly wants to kill their father.  The Engineers it seems, were trying to do that before we could get around to it, so WHY LEAVE A MAP TO EXPOSE THE PLAN?

5:  Don't even get me started on the running vertically from a falling ship when running horizontally would have been signigicantly more effective.

6:  Alien pregnancy?  Really?  That is just f**king lazy.

7:  Noomi Rapace perfectly able to rappel from and climb in to a beleagured escape pod with very recent lower abdominal surgery, but struggles to run and perform otherwise fairly straight-forward activities.  I have had a c-section, and I can assure you even sitting up is excrutiatingly painful, let alone hulking the inanimate Fassbender down a 10ft drop.

8:  What were the Engineer crew running from in the holographic impression that Fassbender manages to uncover? It just wasn't explained.

I find the whole thing just inexplicable.  Alien is an incredible movie, in my opinion.  Perfect blend of science fiction, horror and drama, Prometheus is just crap.  What happened?

Has anyone seen an extended Director's cut?  I ask because some of the narrative leaps suggest to me that there was an awful lot of editing, so many scenes didn't make sense.

SO, I moved on to Wool , winner of the 2012 Kindle Indi Book Of The Year. To say I blasted through this would be a understatement. Then, last week I picked up the second book Shift , I think I read it even faster than Wool.

Wool: Omnibus addition is actually Wool 1-5 combined into one book. Shift Omnibus is Shift 1-3 in one book. The third and final book Dust, no idea of a release date. I can not say enough how much I have enjoyed these books.

Now, as I wait for two "final" books, I used Amazon's feature of "if you bought this, you would like....." and ended up with Extinction Point , this book starts of very fast and throws you right into it. Very short read, about 300 pages. I'm 25% in (started last night) and so far so good. Only reason why I did not read more last night was because I just could not keep my eyes open any longer after a long week so far.

As my desire to game has almost completely fallen apart, I find that I am reading more and more, almost can't get enough of it, I fogot just how much I LOVE it! What books can you all reccomend? I'm open to pretty much anything, but tend to stick to mostly fiction.

Oh, and if I remember correctly, someone here, maybe JohnS knew someone who put a book out last year... something about a watch? Anybody know of this, it was someone from GS.

Some other books I also recently read..

World War Z

Pride and Prejudice and Zombies

Abraham Lincoln : Vampire Hunter

Time Ship

Extremely Loud and Incredibly Close

The Hobbit

John Carter

Tarzan

The Sex Lives of Cannibals: Adrift in the Equatorial Pacific

And the Hunger Games series

As part of the agreement, EA will create new Star Wars titles for a "core gaming audience." These games will span "all interactive platforms" and "the most popular game genres." Disney, meanwhile, will retain rights to create new Star Wars games for mobile, social, tablet, and online markets.

"Every developer dreams of creating games for the Star Wars universe," EA Labels president Frank Gibeau said in a statement. "Three of our top studios will fulfill that dream, crafting epic adventures for Star Wars fans."

Battlefield studio DICE and Dead Space outfit Visceral Games are currently making new Star Wars games, joining BioWare, which will continue to support Star Wars: The Old Republic. The new games from DICE and Visceral will run on the Frostbite 3 engine.

"The new experiences we create may borrow from films, but the games will be entirely original with all new stories and gameplay," Gibeau said.

Financial terms of the EA-Disney deal were not disclosed. EA will report earnings tomorrow after market close, where more information about the deal is expected to be divulged.

The fate of Star Wars: 1313 and Star Wars: First Assault remains unclear.

Disney purchased the Star Wars brand last October for $4.05 billion.

honestly, with DICE and Visceral making Star Wars games, this is not a bad decision. now we can blow stuff up. here's hoping for a new Battlefront game.
