It's sunny outside, there's baseball on the TV and I'm on a laptop trying my best to sum up what fu7ked up set of events landed me here. I'm also reminding myself of how bad I am at creative writing.

I arrived in San Francisco yesterday where I'm staying for about a month to work alongside the US video team in the run-up to E3. Back in 2005 when I used to stay up until midnight to watch On The Spot, I dreamed of another life where I could work in the GameSpot HQ, and be as good at talking about games as the people inside that 640 x 480 frame. I'm not sure if ever really thought it was a possibility. In fact, I'm sure it was just a pipe dream.

Would you employ this man?
Would you employ this man?

I'm sitting here, thinking about the past five years of work to get here, and the only emotion I have to describe this situation is bafflement. I am fu7king baffled that I am sitting here.

I'm baffled that that super-green, idiot kid managed to get this done. I'm baffled that all those people took a risk with me and gave me opportunities. I'm baffled that my fiancé moved to the UK with me so I could try get a job in the industry, and then allowed me to live in a different country for another two years once I did. I'm baffled that anybody watches my videos at all. That my Irish accent carries, that my opinion of games matters, that my jokes are funny. I'm baffled that my professional heroes, the men and women who inspired me to try this line of work, actually know who the hell I am. And that some of them even like me?!

But the most baffling part is that I'm not even the least bit anxious about tomorrow. I've been waiting years to work with the people inside that building, and sitting here with the baseball on, and the sun outside - it's like some strange version of Christmas Eve. Where on Christmas Day you work like a horse to collaborate with talented people and create amazing videos about video games. I cannot wait.

Before posting this, I just spent a few minutes reading my old blogs and I spotted something. Tomorrow, the first day I walk into that office, is 3 hours shy of being exactly 7 years from my first blog post on GameSpot.

Baffling.

It's been a year and a half - a year and a half since I last stepped foot into my GameSpot profile. Sure, I posted on the forums now and then to fight off withdrawal, but now I feel like I'm stepping into a home that I abandoned. I don't know how many of you are still around, but it would make me happy to know that some of you are alive and well.

My life's been all over the place, but in a good way. First of all, I'm a student at the University of British Columbia, where I'm half-assedly getting my Bachelors in Political Sciences. Why a half-assed degree I probably won't ever put into practical use? Because I'm going to be a cop, which pretty much means that any degree will put me up for hire. I'm already joining the Canadian Forces as a member of the Army Reserves to get my foot in the door of law enforcement. Why these changes? It's a mix of becoming a bit jaded, and wanting to become Batman. I also drink now... sometimes.

Gaming-wise, I've slowed down tremendously when it comes to variety. I finally got around to playing Persona 4 last year, which was an amazing experience. BlazBlue is stealing an unfair amount of time from my other games, as usual. And finally, I've recently become addicted to League of Legends, which continues to sap hours of my life, daily.

With the change to a more military-driven life, I've picked up Longboarding as a new sport of mine. You get hurt a lot doing it, but the fun outweighs the pain. Nothing like going 60 on a hill, only to drift through a corner with your buddies next to you.

And my girlfriend? Still with her, and going strong.

So there you have it. I don't think this means that I'll be coming back to GameSpot, but a good friend of mine recently reminded me of this home I used to have, so I just wanted to blog it out for the first time in a while. Hopefully, I'll be back someday.

Black ops is much easier to play less frustating except 2nd chance and mw3 what the hell is the point of death streaks your not suppose to reward ppl for dying you should punish them; idk this is just my opinion but still i feel black ops is a better game and treyarch does a better job than infinity ward simple.

OMG!!

The trailer for Resident Evil 6 is out and from the look of things it appears CAPCOM has ramped up the game. There were scenes in the trailer where it look like Chris and Leon had the ability to duck into cover and the fighting engine has been altered too. They have brought back characters from the previious games, exactly who, I cannot say at this moment, but if you view the trailer you will see for yourself. The game is slated from a November release and from the looks of thing I will be anxiously awainting this game. Below is the link to the trailer:

Didn't really predict much xD 2011 seemed pretty void from the start I suppose. Last Guardian never came out, and I decided to pass on Team Ico Collection. As for 2012, I predict I will buy:

-Persona 4 Ultimate Arena (PS3)
-Ni no Kuni (PS3)
-Blade and Soul (PC)
-Blazblue blah blah blah (PS3) (i forget what the title is)
-Persona 5 (PS3) (if it comes out)

Well then, till next year.

Will I still have time to play the games I like with the friends I love. That may sound silly, afterall, I dont have any kids, im not married or anything so sure I should have the time. The truth is, im a VERY competitive person and I love to win. With that said, I use to play for hours to get the right combos down for a fighting game, or learn the maps to the tee in a FPS. But now, with all that is happening in my life, I dont know if i'll have the time for it. I guess all I can do is wait and see and hope for the best. I need to get rich quick already so I can have more free time! But for now i'll be content, afterall, they just opened a Dave & Busters nearby so maybe, just maybe, there is still hope for me.

It's easy to become ignorant of how much great storytelling can affect us in today's world, with all of it's advents. It can be hard to find stories that are truly extraordinary, those that will you to ponder them, even long after the story has concluded. It is a remarkable story that can accomplish that, and that's what I wanted to talk about briefly.

Memento

Memento

This movie was just recently unveiled to me by a friend, and I can't believe that I hadn't seen it for so long. I suppose I was not nearly old enough to comprehend the storyline when it was released in 2000, but I regret not seeing it sooner. With that being said, it was absolutely fantastic. I find it hard to describe the movie, because it is, well, undescribable. The way the story is told in backwards segments with black and white events going in chronological order is simply invigorating. The way Guy Pearce plays the protagonist in Memebto is superb; you'll be following his tale, paying close attention to every scene, constantly quesitoning the truth that the protagonist seeks, far beyond the credits. The ending, or the beginning I should say, leaves more questions lingering, and demands another viewing for further comprehension.

HP7

Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part II

Harry Potter is a story that I've grown up throughout my childhood, whether it be reading the books or watching the movies. Through the dividing of the final chapter of the epic series into two parts, the last book has been retained very faithfully, and part 2 did not disappoint, besides when the credits rolled and I realized that it was all over. The fact that a single story would suck me into it so thoroughly for a huge portion of my juvenile life left me with some post-Potter depression once the credits began to roll. It's hard to give up the things that you love, and the case is not so different here, and yet it is a feeling that is more happy than not. Thank you for my childhood, Harry Potter.

Mass Effect 2

Mass Effect 2

I received Mass Effect 2 as a Christmas present in the past year, and regrettably haven't had a chance to play it until, well, this week. What a week it's been, from the moment I popped the disc in, I was completely sucked into the world of Mass Effect again, just as I was with the first of the trilogy. Since I imported my character from the first game, the choices I made carried over, making the game already feeling more real. It's very easy to become attached to the diverse cast as you gain their loyalty over time, and eventually join together to run as the game coins the "suicide mission". It's an incredibly cohesive experience from a story driven standpoint, as Mass Effect 2 exceeds its predecessor with not only a bigger heart, but a better integration of characters that will inevitably feel real to you. The fact that everyone who plays it will walk away feeling differently makes Mass Effect 2 truly fantastic. Mass Effect 3 can't come any sooner.

The stories that we carry with us long after the tale has been told are the ones worth listening to; it's something that will always be important to us.

I have walked out in rain-and back in rain.

I have outwalked the furthest city light.I have looked down the saddest city lane.

I have passed by the watchman on his beat

And dropped my eyes, unwilling to explain.I have stood still and stopped the sound of feet

When far away an interrupted cry

Came over houses from another street,But not to call me back or say good-by;

And further still at an unearthly height

One luminary clock against the skyProclaimed the time was neither wrong nor right.

I have been one acquainted with the night.

You may also know I'm Polish and I live in Poland, in the city of Poznan. Something happened yesterday that made me very proud and happy. My local football team LECH POZNAN, the Polish champion, earns a 3-3 draw playing away to the three-time UEFA Cup winners, JUVENTUS TURIN in the first match of the EUROPA LEAGUE's group stage at the Stadio Olimpico in Turin.

Latvian player Artjoms Rudnevs, who joined Lech Poznan this season, had the first two goals of the match. He opened the scoring from the penalty spot in the 14th minute after the Brazil midfielder Felipe Melo brought down Slawomir Peszko, and doubled the lead in the 30th minute when left unmarked in the area. After opening half hour Lech Poznan led 0-2!

But Juventus hit back with a goal either side of halftime by defender Giorgio Chiellini (45', 50'). Alessandro Del Piero put Juventus ahead in the 68th with a long shot from outside the area. Rudnevs rescued a point for Lech just before the final whistle when he unleashed a rocket from 30 yards that skimmed off the underside of the crossbar and into the net to complete his hat trick. It was the second minute of added time in the second half!

The match was very dramatic - we could have won but we could have lost too, so I think a draw is fair. Considering it was Juventus we played against I'm very happy and satisfied with the result.

I was extremely active on this website, and i've soaked some time into it over the past few years. Here's an update of my life. I turned 20 this month, I'm a senior in college, and I've been working full time for a year. I traveled to my homeland this summer, and reconnected with a father I hadn't seen or spoken to in 13 years. An enormous relief was felt as I met and learned of his life and struggles, and as he was able to learn about his son, who had turned into a man since he'd last seen him. Anyway, i realize this site is for games, but I thought I would share an important thing that occurred since i last logged on.

I have recently purchased my own home, and have been focusing my life efforts at setting up my future. I decided a few weeks ago that I no longer wanted to devote the amount of time I have been to playing video games. I'm not trying to speak ill of what video games are, or those who play it, but I decided to take a break. After some time without playing I came to the conclusion that I could live without them. I sold my Xbox, and just a few days ago I sold my PS3. I feel a little sense of freedom, or maybe like an opportunity has presented itself because of its disappearance. My fall classes resume tomorrow, and I hope it all comes out well. i'm keeping my account, but I doubt I'll log on anytime soon.

Be well gamespot subscribers!

Deep on the Funk and Jazz-esque not much other rap artists have been confident about in the past decade, provides mature listeners with the wettest of dreams Patton's mind has ever revolved on. Yes, most of the songs are about sex but in a far more winning way than his solo-work Speakerboxxx he did back in 2004 alongside Andre 3000's The Love Below in a double-album as Outkast when they just about reached their peak of complex lyrics. The greatest verses you could ever hear from the hot lips of Big Boi are on Sir Luscious Left Foot, A more true MC solo rather than always being slightly worse than Dre since the birth of his career as a rapper.

His club-banger "Shutterbugg" is probably the most radio-friendly song on the album and has some great pop-elements that would be corny if it weren't for Big Boi. Featured artists vary from up-and-coming white rapper Yelawolf to 80s Funk singer George Clinton. Once you get to the jaw-dropping closer "Back Up Plan" that Big Boi takes off alone, you begin to debate whether Sir Luscious Left Foot is a modern hip-hop masterpiece or not. With the omission of fellow companion Andre 3000 being the album's biggest flaw, it still remains as one and showed that Antwan Andre Patton went through one of the biggest difficulties in the history of the duo's career, the making of the album.
