Sony Computer Entertainment is currently fixing the problem. Users are advised not to update their PS3s until further notice.

So earlier a firmware update for the PS3, according to their twitter account, "PS3 system software update 4.45 coming soon, Trophy notification options and improved system stability are on the way." However, it seems as though this update had some strings attached to it. According to a number of reports, many users have been locked out of their systems, claiming that they were unable to boot up after the update.

Other reports claim that it bricks immediately after the update, but apparently it only happens to those that upgraded their hdd. And that this issue only effects those who have upgraded their hard drive.

Sony has released the following statement:

"We are aware of reports that the recent PlayStation 3 system software update (version 4.45) has caused the XMB to not display on a small number of PS3 systems. We have temporarily taken 4.45 offline and are investigating the cause of the problem. We will announce when the system update is available for download as soon as possible. We apologies for the inconvenience."

It's currently unclear or at least not immediately obvious how Sony will roll out a fix for those who can't access the XMB. One option according to this site suggests that the fix will include a downloadable file to put on a USB stick or hard drive, then asking users to boot into safe mode.

Here we are.

Watch_Dogs

Publisher: Ubisoft

Developer: Ubisoft Montreal

Platforms: 360, Wii U, PS3, PS4, XBONE, PC

When this was first revealed last year, I didn't think much of it, especially when the most interesting open-ended action adventure game that interested me most at the time was Square Enix/Eidos and United Front's Triad/Police adventure, Sleeping Dogs (which I still need to play). But overtime, even before this year's event, I started to grow more of an interest. I always did thought it had a unique premise though, around hacking and spying and from what I see in trailers, it makes for an interesting take on being a vigilante.

Super Smash Bros. 4

Publisher: Nintendo

Developer: Namco Bandai

Platform: Wii U, 3DS

Finally revealed and pretty freaking hyped (for my own sake). New fighters, both from Nintendo's own franchises (Animal Crossing Villager and...Wii Fit Girl), and so far, ONE third party character with a strong Nintendo legacy (Mega Man). Who knows what other characters will be in next (be it first or third party characters), but either way, who's up for a good ol' Nintendo crossover beatdown?

Bayonetta 2

Publisher: Nintendo (funding), SEGA (IP owner and advisor)

Developer: Platinum Games

Platform: Wii U

Controversies aside (as well as the fact that I haven't yet played Bayonetta 1, which I'll get for 360), I'm still looking forward to this one, because after a hiatus from publishing M rated games (and having less than pleasent luck save from when they did it the first time when they still had their old buddies at Rare), I'm still heavily backing of Nintendo's will to save this game. From what I see of footage, it's still has that high octane action, brutality and raunchiness of the first game. So those who think Nintendo will censor this game, can we please get off their back for that? I know their censorship is... weird (they censored Thraja's butt in the NA version of Fire Emblem: Awakening and even censored "Damn" in EU and international Trilogy versions of Metroid Prime 3: Corruption for unknown reasons, but there's has been no major reports of third party products being censored by them, not since Mortal Kombat II on SNES), but they seem to be leaving this one alone (didn't think they would mess with it due to SEGA still advising for the game).

Sonic Lost Worlds

Publisher: SEGA

Developer: Sonic Team

Platform: Wii U, 3DS

Speaking of SEGA, time to look at their mascot, Sonic the Hedgehog. With his recent Colors and Generations faring him very well, they announce the Nintendo exclusive Lost Worlds. Some compare it to the cancelled Sonic X-treme for SEGA Saturn, others compare it to Super Mario Galaxy. Me? I just see something retro and new at the same time. For some of the new things, I like the sound of Sonic doing some parkour like things, I mean, with how he runs so fast, I'm surprised he isn't vaulting over obstacles.

Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain

Publisher: Konami

Developer: Kojima Productions

Platforms: PS3, PS4, 360, XBONE

I may be a more recent Metal Gear fan (though MGS2 got me started, it was MGS3 that made me more of a fan), but I'm still looking forward to several things on this one. One thing is the open world gameplay, though not a new thing in stealth action (didn't Eidos' Thief use that first?), it does sound like a great concept for the series at least, another is Kiefer Sutherland as Snake/Big Boss. I admit, I will miss David Hayter as the character, but I have no doubts that Kiefer will do a good job as he is a pretty good actor.

Other games to note:

Pokemon X/Y (3DS)

Infamous Second Son (PS4)

Batman: Arkham Origins (Wii U, 360, PS3, PC)

Rayman Legends (Wii U, PS3, 360, Vita)

E3 was great and exausting. Too tired to write up stuff, so here is a video thing about some info and stuff that maybe didn't make it onto the livestreams. Thanks for watching E3 folks - we had record numbers and amazing feedback all week. Really proud to be part of it. Also some questions:

Q: What was your your favourite game of E3?
Q: PS4 or XBOX ONE?

Return of Resi. http://www.gamespot.com/users/resident4evil05/show_blog_entry.php?topic_id=m-100-26030179 Prestige Master on Black Ops 2 Now I now not a lot of people enjoy the game but I have been having a good time playing with friends and random new friends that I have made off of the game. Here's some (sad) stats

Time Spent: 271 Hours played T_T
Total Score: 3,967,125
Total Kills: 27,768
Total Wins: 901
K/D Ratio: .98
Score per Min.: 266

Looking at those stats is really sad, really that 271 Hours played and I look at my anime collection and just think how many could I have finished in that time guess we shall never know. Over the course of playing I do have many Golden Guns and only one group Diamond, which is getting gold on every weapon in one group. The Launchers I have Diamond, (Which took forever btw)
Assault Weapons Gold: Type 25, FAL OSW, and M27
Sub-Machine Guns Gold: MP7, PDW-57, MSMC (Working on Skorpion EVO)
Shotguns: R870 MCS, (Working on KSG)
LMG: MK 48 (Working on Hammer)

That's it I know these stats mean nothing and so does these golden guns, but they where a lot of fun to get. I have some crazy stories from playing with randoms trying to win domination without Killing us which was pretty strange. To the people making fun of me called me such and such cause of my Pony Emblems....then me rolling over them and never hearing them again. :3

Now to show you guys my Emblems right now I have 13 of them and I'm pretty proud of some.
Shout out to MachinaeZero on Youtube for making awesome how to videos.

Which one do you guys like the most? I love my Fluttershy one of her saying "You're going to love me!!" I'll leave you guys be now I'm going back to playing Spec Ops: The Line and reading my new My Little Pony Comic got to find out how this story ends.
See Ya Next Time Luckies!!
With a Anime Blog next time! Look forward to it

Well, any typing this on wordpad so not sure how it'll turn out since gamespot isn't being a bit glitchy don't really want to type the blog over again in case gamespot signs me out. Kind of surprised I was able to copy images from photobucket to wordpad didn't think I could.

anyway bought some books, and books on drawing and here is what I bought

Price: $10.79

Dragon Champion

Price: $7.19

Forged by Fire(Dragon Temple Saga book #3)

Price: $4.00

The Fire Within

Price: $7.19

not sure if this was the first book in the series or not.

anyway and if anyone actually has paid attention to my blogs, you would probably know that some of these have been on my list for quite sometime, others just got thrown on there recently.

Like: The Fire Within, Outlaw, Hidden Reality, Storm Cycle, The Dark Griffin and always wanted to read an Assassin's Creed book, Forged by Fire got put there recently along with the rest.

was going to get What the Night Knows, but ended up not probably will get it some other time along with 1984 and some other books.

As for Video Games

not really sure what I've been playing, have been playing Spider-Man The Edge of Time for a bit, not sure what is in my PS3 at the moment. Also played Grand Theft Auto IV, and Legend of Zelda Oracle of Ages for a bit.

and have watched Fringe Season 2, still got ways yet before finishing it. mostly been on gamespot following E3, which I'll probably mention in another blog later. after it is finished probably

Speaking of Gamespot, looks like it is a glitchfest espicially around every E3, which is why I don't want to take the chance of typing the blog on their wordpad type thing. Plus I can't access Fuse to see if I got all the E3 Emblems or not. hopefully I did. still trying to get to 100, which still may take a while since I am at 65.

and should also be getting Legend of Spyro Dawn of the Dragon(PS3), The Eternal Night(GBA), The Black Dragon(Book), Fringe September's Notebook, Elements of Harmony(kind of like Fringe September's Notebook I think), and Animal Crossing.

So I'll be playing those all day tomorrow since I don't have work tomorrow.

Animal Crossing New Leaf I am already going to name my town Enterna and use my first name for the game which is Cynder. Kind of hoping the villagers I get are Tangy, Victoria or Kiki.

and I have work 11am on Sunday, too bad I wake up at 1-2pm. they said it won't be as busy as Mother's Day, which really wasn't as bad as I thought it be....

Speaking of which, guess I've been told if the place I do work at had an Employee of the month thing I'd probably get it, though they don't have that so... And here I am ultimately convinced I do a poor job at everything, and doesn't help I second guess about everything I do, which I pretty much only do since I am also convinced my perception of reality is messed up.

and apparently they hired someone new recently, and hear that on Moday or something they got out at Midnight and the place wasn't even busy so that would be 600PM to Midnight I think, and it wasn't busy yesterday and I got out at 9:30PM and I start at 6:00PM, and here I thought I gone slow, guess not.

But anyway guess I'll mention E3 next blog probably when E3 is over with.

and will also put my Friend code for Animal Crossing Next blog too.

and here is my facebook out where I usually upload pictures and some videos at

So, perhaps it is time to reiterate. At the Xbox One's unveiling several weeks ago, Microsoft gave the impression that the console was 'always on' and would have to be physically unplugged to prevent the mandatory Kinect functions measuring sound and identifying the faces of people in the room. More recent information however suggests that some of these fears may be unwarranted.

According to Xbox One's own offical website, 'you are in control of what Kinect can see and hear' outlining clear privacy options that can be determined by the user at set up. The website also insists 'when Xbox One is on, and youre simply having a conversation in your living room, your conversation is not being recorded or uploaded' and that Kinect, when on, is only listening out for specific voice commands.

Anyone who is familiar with Alienware technology may know most of their computers arrive with software that is able to recognise the face of the user via an integrated webcam instead of a standard password when logging into Windows. This feature can be turned on or off at will. If Microsoft is to be believed, the Kinect features similar options.

Stephen Totilo of Kotaku recently published an article suggesting the Xbox One may not be spying on everyone after all and the confusion surrounding the console stems from mixed messages and unclear advertising from Microsoft during the unveiling. A Microsoft representative explained to him via email; 'yes, you can turn the system completely off' implying the existence of a power button. While Microsoft tauted the consoles ability to be 'always on', their failure to specify that the console could in fact be powered down if the user chooses is likely what sparked the controversy to begin with.

Some concern may have been brought about by the vastly superior Kinect sensor; the ability to see in the dark, capture facial expressions and the option to remain on stand by while still listening out for voice commands may give the impression of being watched.

On article on Digital Spy also confirmed the Kinect sensor itself could be turned off and would not record or upload without permission.

At the moment, the information being released by Microsoft suggests the console will not be spying on its users. The privacy options stated to be available appear to be similar to what is already available on the Xbox 360 which allowed players to block or allow Kinect and the recording of movements and fitness information.

I'm keeping an eye on the gems and plan to follow the game page to get updates about them.

Things have been doing pretty good with the new gig. It sometimes doesn't feel like work because it is that much fun. Our game will be at the NVIDIA booth so if you're attending be sure to drop by to check out the tech destruction demo, currently not in the open beta. Oh, I guess the secret is out if you follow my Twitter (HWKJody. The game is HAWKEN.

Lastly, I can't believe my last blog reached over 200 comments. Thanks again for everyone's kind words. I only saw one rage quit from  the site, and even he wished me well. Also, if you don't already have me on Steam (xpcaligirl) or Raptr (CaliGirl), feel free to add me!

And.. have a Happy E3 week full of exciting news and hype! I'll have to make sure I take a peek in System Wars this week to see what you all think about the hardware and games. <3

I've been uploading my work to this website for years now, but as I grew and gained more experience - my writing skills improved tenfold. I even received the "Top 500 Reviewers" badge here on GameSpot, which I'm still very proud of. I think I was fifteen years old at the time. Unfortunately about four months from my seventeenth birthday now that I'm writing a book in Polish, revising for exams and my backlog of unfinished games grows... I've decided that I should stop. Forever? I don't know. I've been putting too much of an emphasis on writing in my leisure gaming to a point where I refused to play new games until finishing the reviews of games I had already completed. And with so much going on in my life lately, I just can't be bothered with this anymore. As much as I love writing, sometimes I just want to sit down and enjoy a game with no strings attached.

So, I guess I'm writing this blog post just to say farewell to reviews and let all of you know (even though it has been ages since anyone has given me feedback on a review, since most of my GS friends are gone and others simply don't have the time or will to read my stuff). It's a shame that I'm choosing to quit at this moment... I won't get to tell you how much potential the new Tomb Raider had, how Call of Pripyat almost perfected the S.T.A.L.K.E.R. formula and how brilliant Last Light is despite of the shocking Ranger Mode pre-order bonus. Well, I guess I still would be able to do so if I kept posting on GS, but in much less detail. Anyway, I'll still rate my games and keep my Top 30 list going (I like to keep a track of games I liked and games I didn't like), but no more reviews.

There is also a lack of Ben Paul from The Walking Dead, so that's pretty negative. On the bright side it has zombies and pretty cool graphics, so it's pretty much the Citizen Kane of gaming.

Picked up Grid 2 on Friday and am loving it so far. One or two framerate issues which is slighly disappointing but apart from that a great racing game. Haven't played anything else since.

Watched Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter on Friday evening, excellent movie, interesting take on American history and plenty of violence! Well worth a watch.

Then on Sunday afternoon finally got round to watching The Hobbit on 3D BluRay on our ( fairly ) new 3D TV. Hadn't seen the film before and really enjoyed it. The 3D effects were very good and had a constant "oohhh" and "my god" etc from my kids

Oh yeah - my second eldest became a teenager on Friday so that's 2 in the house now.....RUN

That's all for today

Second, a few people know the purpose of my trip to Canada, but most dont. It has to do with me and Miss fablesway. Let me explain:

2 summers ago, I came across her profile through the comments system of a friends blog. I was curious, so I read and liked how she did things. She then proceeded to ask a great many questions via PM She invited me to a union, we chatted a good amount there, and also continued to PM each other. Eventually we moved to FB for most of our chatting, and we continued to get to know each other. We had gotten very close by that point, so I asked if maybe shed want to try a relationship, and she said yes ^^ For almost 2 years, we talked for hours almost every day, just shooting the breeze and asking how the other persons day was going, leading to other conversational paths

Wed gotten as close as we could via chat, so I finally got the money together to visit her in Canada and stay with her for a week (this past week). It was such a great week! We watched movies, played video games, went to the mall, talked, snuggled, etc. =3 She also gave me more manga than I could take home with me as gifts

It was sad having to leave her, but at least now we know how we truly feel about each other. I love her very much, and she feels the same Were going to continue to visit each other every so often (when time/money allows), but eventually well be together to stay, once we get some job/school stuff out of the way ^^

So GS, while you may be a pain at times with your glitches and whatnot, Ill always be grateful for you giving me the opportunity to meet such a great girl. Thank you!

Love you Ash ^^

Work as hard as you can; achieve whatever you can. Publish, research, propose, discover, conclude, produce theories, launch websites, yada, yada, yada. It's great stuff.

The negative part?

You're hemmed into a specific method of doing something - such as writing. You can write what you want, but it has to be about this [insert random topic here]. You can have whatever colour you want, as long as it's black. You know what I mean? Sure, I love some of my classes, (and hate others) but as a writer I feel that we aren't given enough freedom. While others might write about themselves or their lives, I'd rather write about alternative universes, aliens, magic, the future, and whatever else comes to mind. It's partially because my life isn't that interesting, but it's also because I feel there's more to literature and university than complying by the rules. In some boring lectures I think about a new short story and by the end of the 2 hours I have about 1.5k of words down. Probably not something I should admit, but whilst university is a great place to expand your mind, they should allow you to think freely in how you do so.

Anyway, enough of my ranting: I've got some studying to do and some lectures to attend, although my mind will likely be elsewhere....
