Good morning, afternoon, or whatever it is where you are at. Got another review uploaded. I do hope you enjoy it. Not going to lie, there are a few mistakes, especially since it sounds like I am saying "Spider-Men" instead of Spider-Man, but I think I was saying it too fast, lol but it happens. Thanks for watching.

TV integration?  THAT'S A PROBLEM!

Instead of getting excited for the upcoming Xbox, I see a console that is no longer a box.  The box cannot exist without about 300,000 other boxes called servers spread throughout the world.  MS has put so much of an emphasis on the Cloud that they've spent hundreds of millions improving their networks.  The next XBox isn't what you buy at the store; it's what you pay per month.  Quite frankly, you cannot enjoy the Xbox One without an always online credit card connection.  At least that's the impression I got.

Oh, and of course, there's the reports about the always online crap and the used games fees again.

http://kotaku.com/xbox-one-does-require-internet-connection-cant-play-o-509164109

http://www.gamespot.com//news/xbox-one-has-preowned-fee-report-6408671?fb_ref=rec_features

(According to Xbox Support's Twitter, the GS article is false https://twitter.com/XboxSupport3/status/336937800702238722)

Obviously, MS wouldn't be spending any of their unveiling time denying or confirming these reports.  We probably won't receive official confirmation until E3, but damned if what I've heard isn't damning.

As for the next Kinect, I don't want it.  I made the big mistake buying one back in 2010, which is still sitting in its box.  The problem is, I simply don't have the room for it.  I won't have the room for Kinect 2.0.  Same goes with Illumiroom.  Why push something so hard that can't be enjoyed by everyone?  Push more games.  All you need for games is a TV and a controller.  Don't keep pushing Smartglass. Don't keep pushing Kinect.  Push games.  PUSH GAMES!

This is embarrassing. This is MS at its most embarrassing, and I'm talking more embarrassing than Kinectimals.  More embarrassing than Usher Raymond.  It's so embarrassing, it makes me embarrassed just to know that I own an Xbox 360. It is appauling to see a company who practically bullied their way into the industry full of people who felt they had no business being there and shut them up by bringing freaking gamesm into shifting so much into social and media integration and focusing on games as an afterthought (turning Rare into a shovelware Kinect developer is reprehensible).  Yeah, Sony's doing more social things too, but they're actually doing it alongside games.

All this XBL and Cloud fluff.  All this Kinect.  All this SmartGlass.  These futuristic integrations because we're too lazy to look for a freaking remote.  It's so god damned unnecessary, and MS will have one helluva time convincing me that I need to buy their machine.  It doesn't matter at this point now.  I'm so done with MS that I don't care how many new exclusives they release, it's not worth putting up with all the MS BS that comes with it.  Oh, and what the hell is with the name?  Xbox One?  The first Xbox was the Xbox One.  Is MS so inept that they forgot how to count?

Yeah, you can bash the Wii U all you want, but it's more of a gaming console than the Xbox One will ever be.  Don't agree?

As part of the agreement, EA will create new Star Wars titles for a "core gaming audience." These games will span "all interactive platforms" and "the most popular game genres." Disney, meanwhile, will retain rights to create new Star Wars games for mobile, social, tablet, and online markets.

"Every developer dreams of creating games for the Star Wars universe," EA Labels president Frank Gibeau said in a statement. "Three of our top studios will fulfill that dream, crafting epic adventures for Star Wars fans."

Battlefield studio DICE and Dead Space outfit Visceral Games are currently making new Star Wars games, joining BioWare, which will continue to support Star Wars: The Old Republic. The new games from DICE and Visceral will run on the Frostbite 3 engine.

"The new experiences we create may borrow from films, but the games will be entirely original with all new stories and gameplay," Gibeau said.

Financial terms of the EA-Disney deal were not disclosed. EA will report earnings tomorrow after market close, where more information about the deal is expected to be divulged.

The fate of Star Wars: 1313 and Star Wars: First Assault remains unclear.

Disney purchased the Star Wars brand last October for $4.05 billion.

honestly, with DICE and Visceral making Star Wars games, this is not a bad decision. now we can blow stuff up. here's hoping for a new Battlefront game.

I'm sitting here in my dorm and I looked back here on my Gamespot profile. I remember when I first joined, I was starting out in High School, now I'm sitting here in my dorm room in college. It's funny how fast and how far life progresses.

My freshman year in college is winding down. Life has been great and college has been a blast. Classes are going well and one of my biggest worries turned out to not be such a big worry at all. That worry would my roommates. They turned out to be excellent. One is from California, who decided to brave the cold of Minnesota. One of the oddest things is that the winter that he comes turns out to be neverending. From November up until the day I write this, snow has fallen every few days.

My other roommate lives a few miles from school, so I still have someone local. It's been really great so far and I look forward to what the future brings here at Bethel University.

Cheers and God Bless ya,

Oblivionfan10

PS-I've been playing TES IV: Oblivion again recently.

That was a great statement in a song called, Oklahoma USA by the Kinks, Ray Davies really brought to light a simple question with not much of an answer but anyways that has nothing to do with my blog.

Obligatory Ray Davies pic -

It's been quite a while since I have made a blog(since December exactly), so there's some things to update on but not much.

Lately, I've just been working, playing video games here and there, and watching tv and movies.

Back in February I went to Katsucon, which is an anime convention. Had a lot of fun there and saw tons of cosplays and got a lot of pics during my time there. I bought a few figurines while I was there and a FLCL tshirt. I can't wait for Otakon this year even though that's not till August.

Anyways here's pics of my figurines and a couple things I bought at the convention -

Now onto other things, I recently went to a movie theater(first time since I was 2) and saw Evil Dead. I really liked the movie and thought it was a great "not-remake" of the original especially since that part I added of "not-remake". If you haven't seen it, you should totally do that.

Also, I did play Bioshock Infinite and I loved the game to death, I definitely recommend it to anyone that likes Bioshock already or even doesn't because it's different than the other two. Another game I really enjoyed was, Tomb Raider and I definitely recommend that to anyone that's on the fence about getting it.

Not really much more to add other than it's getting warmer again so it's time for sniffles and dying of allergies again but I shall end this on a positive note and that I won't wait this long between blogs again or try not to lol.

Happy image time -

That's enough of that, Choas shall return in...next blog.

Be good, the Forest Spirit always watches you.

I did however write a letter today. Something I don't think I've done since 2003 ish. Before the dawn of the internets anyway. I don't know why I did it, but I did. Who knows if it'll get sent where it's going... that's one thing Email has over normal Mail. You know it's gonna get there.

What's happening with you Gamespotters? I haven't commented in many blogs really, even though I'm here every day. I guess I'll go through a few now.

Plus it's a nice way for me to get some thoughts out.

After getting my Associate's degree, it took me a year and a half or so to finally decide on a degree to pursue. Considering how much interest I have in computers, I decided to pursue Networking to maybe one day eventually be a Network Administrator. But I have a long ways to go. I'm currently enrolled at Western Illinois University and close to the end of my first semester here.

I'm not working right now, but will be looking for something part-time for the summer and maybe even further in to next semester depending on the workload I'll have with school.

When I first arrived here at WIU, I met a girl. I thought she was this short, little blonde girl that was as innocent as ever. Turns out that definitely did not end up being the case. What started out with flirting and getting to know each other, lead to sexual conversations and a desire for each other in the deepest form of love. Having never been in a relationship and having very little experience with girls in the past, I rolled with it as I wise desperate and lonely, but also excited because I never thought a very pretty, nice girl would like me the way she did.

But things ended up starting out way too fast. The first time we actually hungout, within minutes, she was wanting to take off my pants. We ended up having sex. A week later, we started going out officially. She started telling me she loved me and she was really urking me to say it back. Knowing how blinded I was by the things that were going on between us, I said it back. I got attached and we started everything off with a boom. But two weeks go by, and she goes away for a weekend. She starts texting me and telling me how much she loves and misses me. She comes back and two days in to the week, she breaks up with me out of the blue. To save you some time on the specifics of it, I ended up finding out she did it to flirt with several other guys without consequence. I found out she pretty much used me for sex. I figured this out by talking to some of the other girls on the floor in the dorm she lived. They told me about how she'd have many different guys over the course of last semester after her ex-fiance left her for someone else. They said she was likely doing it to boost her self ego. She met me and finally settled on someone she thought she did love.

So maybe she really did have feelings for me, and that she meant some of the things she told me. But something hit her and she made a crass decision that was at the expense of my feelings. Well, over the next 3-4 weeks after she broke up with me, she had me over nearly every other night and we continued to have a friends-with benefits relationship. It was quite something. But she eventually stopped this kind of relationship and wanted me to just be her friend. I knew at this point everything was likely over and in the end, I was used, likely as a rebound. I've been depressed and it's hard to get over things when I see her on campus quite a bit. So after making it hard for us to be friends(I still have feelings for her), she pretty much deleted me out of her life by a click of a few buttons. Things have been tough for me because I was lead on to believe we'd be together much longer, and she truly loved me. But it didn't work out that way. What do you guys think I should do? How should I view what happened?

Halo Legends:

The movie Halo Legends is actually several short films. In them are different main characters before and during the Human-Covenant War. Only one film is non-canon. The films display their own unique are styles and they all consist of good animation. My personal favorites are The Duel and The Package. The Duel is aboutan Arbiter who defies the prophets by rejecting the Covenant religion. The art style stands out from other anime and most media. It's like a moving watercolor painting. The Package is good CGI with Master Chief in action. There are other Spartans in the film which aid in creating a moving short film worth watching. I recommend watching Halo Legends.

Batman: Gotham Knight

Although unrelated to Halo Legends, it too is made of several short films. They each consist of different art styles and plots. Kevin Conroy voices Batman in all of them. He is known for his voicing of Batman in Batman: The Animated Series, Batman Beyond, and Justice League. Also, the Batman Arkham video games include his voice. I enjoyed them all overall except In Darkness Dwells' art style. It was dirty and gritty with a rhythm to it, but that did not feel like Batman. I recommend watching Batman: Gotham Knight.

So what are achievements/trophies and what can they do to change your gameplay experience?

What are achievements? A achievement is considered to be a special reward for gamers that play games. Achievements keep you compelled and motivated to continue playing games to earn them. The more achievements the more time a person is likely to spend playing a game to earn them. Some people think achievements are a waste of time. In my opinion they aren't. Achievements add replay value to games, they also inspire you to do things in games that you probably normally wouldn't do.

A fine example of this type of achievement is found in the game called borderlands. A person would probably never attempt this if there was no achievement for it. This achievement is called "You're on a boat!"

The Borderlands achievement "You're on a boat!" achievement/trophy

Description: I bet you never thought you'd be here.
Gamerscore: 15 points

To earn this achievement, one has to find a hidden boat on the game and simply walk on to the the boat. This immediately unlocks the achievement, "You're on a boat!"

Sounds simple right? Most gamers would probably skip out on doing something like this if there wasn't a achievement/trophy for it.

Before achievements/trophies existed, gamers bought games, completed them and most of the time set them aside and decided to play a different game. Some gamers even sold the game and used the cash to buy another game. Which that still happens today. But gamers now have more of a reason to keep the game/s and play through them again. If they are interested in getting the achievements/trohpies and seeing alternate endings, if the game has those.

How does achievements/trophies change the gameplay experience?
Achievements/Trophies motivate gamers to play games on a higher difficulty. Some games have achievements/trophies that can only be unlocked by playing on a hard difficulty or above. Like for example, the war hero trophy in Resident Evil 5. It can only be obtained, by completing the game on the Professional difficulty.

Trust me, that difficulty is a pain.
I do feel rewarded whenever I pursue a difficult achievement and I get it. Do you?

So.. what have I been doing lately? Hmm... a whole bunch of nothing but I guess I did do some little things in between. Here are some of them:

  • Went to two conventions in Feb and Aug
  • Birthday passed, now 24 which now I have a Vita
  • Went to Disneyland
  • My 4th year anniversary was in July

Yeah, I am still in school and this is hopefully my final year in community college. So... I will soon be transferring to university. I guess I am going to University of Kansas because I can't think of anywhere else to go.

Will I ever blog as I used to? I don't know. Even with being so busy I haven't had that much interest in the site anymore. I am sure you guys have moved on to bigger and better blogs about rants and gaming stuff.

Actually, I do have one rant left in me but I will save it for tomorrow or the weekend.

Oh, and it's a big maybe.. you might see blogs about reviews I written but no they are not for those dang profile points. It is just something that is just well overdue.
