I wanted to write about this subject last week, but I had so much work to do on my Master's research.

I know that this subject will cause a lot of controversy. Please remember that this is my opinion, you may like and you may not, either way let me know what you think.

There are a few games and franchises, which I think are overrated or over-hyped. I am going to list them alphabetically and will state my reasons as well.

1- Bayonetta: Totally overrated. Weak story, poor graphics, and ugly voice acting. The action in this game is so fast that sometimes I had no idea what was happening on the screen. I didn't like it at all.

2- Brutal Legend: Poor graphics, tedious gameplay, annoying sound track and an unbelievable story. Totally overrated.

3- Call of Duty (franchise): Don't get me wrong, I loved Modern Warfare when it first came out, but since then, every call of duty is the same. The same engine, the same mechanics and even the same plot over and over. What bothers me the most, is that reviewers use COD as a standard for comparison. Every FPS is compared to COD in some way, and every time COD has to win. I am telling you COD is not even that good. Many FPSs were underrated because of it, andthat is wrong. I know the game has a massive multiplayer mode, but that's it. Battlefield and Medal of honor are better franchises in my opinion.

4- Dead Rising (franchise): Poor concept, repetitive gameplay. You kill zombies and save civilians. That's it. Overrated.

5- God of War (franchise): This franchise is so overrated and over-hyped. I know, I know, God of War III was a technical achievement; the graphics, the scale, but that's it. The other games in the franchise are the same, the only difference is the boss encounters. Why would reviewers compare every action game to GOW, I have no clue. Why is it considered as a standard, I have no clue either. In my opinion Castlevania: Lords of Shadow, and Dante's inferno were better than GOW3. Both were compared to GOD3 and then underrated.

6- Prototype: Where do I start? I don't think this game belonged to this generation of consoles. It should have been released on the PS2 and the XBOX. The concept of the game is very good, but it was delivered poorly. Graphics belong to the past generation, gameplay is tedious and confusing.What really bothers me is that inFAMOUS was compared to it in many reviews, while there is a huge difference between both games.

I would like to continue, there are many gmes that I would like to mention but Idon't wantthe blog to be long and boring. If you liked this blog and would like to read more about overrated games,please let me know.

Movies

Thor : Watched the movie last week and loved it . The acting and the effects were great . I loved Loki and Thor's characters . The battles were epic , and the story was thrilling , however the part on earth lasts for far too long , is filled with cliches where i only found the part where Thor eneters the pet shop to be actually funny . It draws away from the epicness of the movie , but it's still great . And got me even more hyped for the Avengers !

Fast Five : Watched it about 6 hours ago , and liked it better than i expected . Chicks , explosions and fast cars ? Perfect movie for me . Vin Diesel vs The Rock was completely awesome , the vault part is one of the best action sequences ever , and the story itself was shockingly good . Overall , very entertaining movie , funny and exciting . If you were a fan of the previous movies , a must-watch .

Games

Again , me and my friends are still playing CoD4 Multi-player on the PC . And i still think CoD4 is by far the best MP experience ever . Also playing FIFA 11 with my friends , since i still need to prove i'm the best in the school . And finally , to the real awesome-sauce .

Also , playing angry birds , and GoW : Chains of Olympus on the PSP . Pretty damng good .

Portal 2

Amazing ! Only Uncharted 3 , LA Noire , Elder Scrolls and Mass Effect 3 might be able to compete with it . But so far , it is no doubt Game Of The Year . Makes the amazing portal 1 look like child's play . It is funnier , more clever , and brilliant-er !! The story is exciting and deep , the voice acting is the best along side uncharted 2 and ME2 in the buisness , it's mind-blowing to witness what Valve can still make with a 2004 engine in terms of graphics , and the puzzles are clever , brilliant , and mind-bending .

So far , Portal 2 is the GoTY and a must-play . 9.5/10 and the score can actually still go up

That's it for now , tomorrow we have our last few tests this semester and then it's a month of the so-called "revision" aka relaxation before the final exams and the beloved summer vacation . So expect me to be active again .

Civilization V

RUSE

My thoughts on two very different strategy games, please comment after reading your thoughts on each game and argument if you agree with my reviews or not.

Also I am very tired since I have been playing both these games incessantly, especially Civ V, I'd like to remind everybody that the release date for two really influential games of this year is coming

ASSASSIN'S CREED : BROTHERHOOD

CALL OF DUTY : BLACK OPS

Black Ops Thoughts:

Browsing some Youtube channels such as Machinima or NextGenTactics, I have seen that Black Ops is turning out to be a fine project, it seemingly has no flaws and from the gameplay videos I saw the purchasing system will be really innovative as players can decide what to buy and unlock and when. Also I am really hyped about the new wager matches game modes, which are:

Gun Game

Sticks and Stones

One in the Chamber

The one with the gun rotation( dont know the name)

And I think there was another, anyway to practice for these games, specially for Gun Game, I have taken the idea from and NGT director GUNNS4HIRE to play MW2 with a ****called litterbug, meaning that each time you kill someone uou must pick up their weapon and continue the cycle until you win. This will help the player gain finesse with every weapon available for use in the game.

Finally I would like everyone to put up their thought about how the multiplayer aspect of DEAD SPACE 2 will be and how will EA keep it from being broken or even monotonous.

This blog entry is to tell you guys that I will be leaving for a while. The truth is, I don't feel like leaving Gamespot. However, like many others, I need to solve personal matters that my parents are continually encouraging me to do. One example includes being highly motivated to do better in school. I probably won't post a blog entry next week and I apologize. If I can wrap things up as soon as I can and make my life better again, I'll return and talk to everyone a whole lot more.
