Allow Me To Elaborate. http://www.gamespot.com/users/SNOOP_CAT/show_blog_entry.php?topic_id=m-100-26014441 amd

Sony gave a sneak-peek at its next-generation PlayStation®4 (PS4) game console coming later this year and, here at AMD, we couldnt be more excited. Bringing a supercharged PC architecture that combines next-gen hardware, software, and the fastest game network in the world. Oh, and this is all powered by a semi-custom designed AMD accelerated processing unit(APU) jointly developed in coordination with Sony!

In fact, the PS4 is the first announced design win based on semi-custom AMD APUs. This further demonstrates our commitment to take AMD technology into adjacent high growth markets as we diversify beyond the PC.

What exactly is a semi-custom APU? Let me elaborate:

At the most basic level, an APU is a single chip that combines general-purpose x86 central processing unit (CPU) cores with a graphics processing unit (GPU) and a variety of system elements, including memory controllers, specialized video decoders, display outputs, etc. Our semi-custom solutions take the same treasure trove of graphics; compute and multi-media IP found in our APUs, and customize them for customers who have a very specific high-volume product that could benefit from AMDs leading-edge technologies.

In the case of the PS4, we leveraged the building blocks of our 2013 product roadmap the same technologies you find in the latest AMD APUs powering PCs, ultrathin notebooks and tablets to create a solution that incorporates our upcoming, low-power AMD Jaguar CPU cores with next-generation AMD Radeon graphics delivering nearly 2 TFLOPS of compute performance! This unique APU architecture enables game developers to easily harness the power of parallel processing to fundamentally change the console gaming experience. Not only creating the opportunity for new possibilities in software design, but also faster and more fluid graphics.

This is going to be a very exciting year for gamers, especially for those with AMD hardware in their PCs and consoles, as we have even more game-changing (pun intended) announcements still to come.

Look for some more exciting things happening at the Game Developers Conference (GDC) in March when we will provide even more info on how we are working with game developers to make AMD the hardware of choice for running the best games!

I am back!

I haven't loged in to this site since 2009 but I finally got a chance to do so. No, I was not dead nor kidnapped nor taken (great movie!). I just forgot about GameSpot..for 3 years.

Anyways, it's good to be back. But I am curious as to who is still active here.

Leave a comment and let me know that you're still alive and kicking!

Talk to you later.

I had my previous one for 5+ years, and while it was still in decent shape and running well, I wanted a proper upgrade. I had to start from scratch, because upgrading from the old parts would have just been pointless because pretty much everything needed an upgrade.

Anyway, here are the specs, for anybody interested:

Case
COOLERMASTER HAF 922 MID TOWER GAMING CASE
Processor (CPU)
Intel® Core™i5-2500k Quad Core (3.30GHz, 6MB Cache) + HD Graphics
Motherboard
ASUS® P8Z68-V LX: USB 3.0, SATA 6GBs, ATI®CrossFireX
Memory (RAM)
8GB KINGSTON HYPER-X GENESIS DUAL-DDR3 1600MHz, X.M.P (2 x 4GB KIT)
Graphics Card
2GB NVIDIA GEFORCE GTX 560 Ti - 2 DVI,HDMI,VGA - 3D Vision Ready
Memory - 1stHard Disk
120GB INTEL® 320 SERIES SSD, SATA 3 Gb/s (upto 270MB/sR | 130MB/sW)
Power Supply
CORSAIR 750W ENTHUSIAST SERIES™ TX750 V2-80 PLUS® BRONZE

It's not right at the top of the line, but it's a really nice system. It runs Starcraft 2 on extreme and stays above 100 frames per second. I've yet to try any other games on it. I'll be looking to buy Battlefield 3 on the PC at some point and see what it can do.

Speaking of Battlefield 3, I bought it on 360 and I've played a bit of the multiplayer. It's very different to my usual Call of Duty, and sometimes it can be far too slow for my liking, but on the whole, I really enjoy it. The random stuff you can get up to in the game is really fun, and playing it with a few friends is a laugh. It will take a little while before I get "good" at the game, but I'm enjoying it so far.

Hope you enjoy Christmas and 2012 is a good year for everyone.

Im glad to see the back of 2011; no more uni and I can finally (attempt to) find a job. I already have an interview in the new year. I have to travel to London on the 4th. Hopefully it will work out well and kick start the new year for me.

If you look to the left, you'll see that there's emblems, but only now, there's more of them. And they didn't necesarrily come from us. This whole "Achievement" thing that's sweeping the videogame world has gotten big, and we figure we better get on board. Even though we've been handing out "achievements," and keeping a "Gamerscore" for our users, for a while now. We just have different names.

Anyhow, it seems like I've been working on this project forever. And we have about a zillion improvements, enhancements, and new features planned, so it looks like I'll be wokring on it forever. And forever plus forever is a long time.

So, link your account with Raptr, get your achivements imported, get your friends to do the same, and enjoy the magic that's happening. This is only the begining.

Now... I have to go back to fixing some bugs from this launch...

Today I finally completed God Of War 2 and was really impressed by it, the ending was really cool and sets up the third game nicely. Speaking of whichI probably will get God of War 3 but it won't be for a while. I'm still in dire need of Uncharted 2 which friends have told me is amazing

Since the last blog I have completed Assassin's Creed and Modern Warfare 2 MW2 is just an epic game even though the story is quite messed up AC is a good game but very repetitive and the ending is just appalling I doubt I will get AC2 anytime soon if at all.

I have also recently completed Resident Evil 5 for the 3rd time (in the processI unlocked the infinite rocket launcher and have a number of weapons fully upgraded with infinite ammo ). Surprisingly the infinite rocket launcher isn't too difficult to get and I was able to finish the story in under 5 hours without a great deal of difficulty (although shotguns and magnums with infinite ammo are rather helpful )

I've been doing great. Had an awesome winter break back home in Singapore. Got my PS3 (at last) with street fighter IV and RE 5 (I know... both Capcom right? But it was unplanned believe me). I didn't enjoy Street Fighter IV as much as I would have imagined but still it was good fun (once in a while when I just want to do something mindless and hit away) but RE 5 Boy was I pleased with it. I like how Resident Evil is evolving. Moving away from that much overused dark crammed place to a more open environment concept. It's like the story is progressing and many games seem to talk about a progressive story but gameplay mechanics and settings don't change much making playing through them difficult. I prefer RE5 to RE4 actually. RE4 was revolutionary it changed the way Resident Evil games were made with new aiming and gameplay system but it was still very dark and very gloomy and at sometimes slow moving. It was a pain to go through the castle in RE4, I enjoyed the starting parts and the ending parts but I hated the castle parts. As for RE 5 why I love it so much is that it doesn't dwell in one area too long, it keeps the environment fresh and with the constant outpouring of enemies make gameplay move at a more commendable pace then RE4. If I were to rate RE5 I would rate it just as gamespot has rated it (lower than RE4) but if you ask me which game I'll recommend, I'll definitely recommend RE 5 period.

So anyway, besides getting my PS3 I did the usual things I did back home. Hanging out with friends, catching up, watching movies, eating good food etc. But I guess this was the best winter break given how I actually had a chance to go have some outdoor fun. Thanks to my girlfriend(and potentially future wife) who really is just awesome to be with. So if she's reading this thanks babe. So sad that school had to reopen, would really like to spend more time with her but well I believe the seeds have been sown and that I've done all I can. God's gonna provide the increase and the favour with her. Amen.

Right now, I'm kinda working on my thesis back in Perth. Stuck at 550/15000 words which is kinda a pain I really believe it'll be finished by the due date. Don't know how don't know why, I just know it!!! Praise God for the sound mind and the confidence. My trust is in You.

Oh yea, coming to the main thing I wanted to post about. Marvel is reairing the 1994 Spider-man cartoon (for free at the moment just stream at their site: here). Yay! I always wondered why there wasn't a dvd for this series. Probably one of the best Spidey cartoons out there. But I'm contented just to be able to watch it again. Another thing for me to thank Jesus for heh. So yea I don't know how many of you loved it as much as I did but I thought I'd just post it up here. Note that new episodes air every Wednesday and this past Wednesday (5/8/09) was episode 1: Night of the Lizard. I just pray to God that this free service will remain for all 52 episodes in Jesus name. hehe

Thats all from me. All the best and God bless you all~

I got quite involved in the forums and unions i was spending a lot of tme on them and was very busy posting. However over the past 6 months i have started to use the site less and less but not just that i am actually playing video games less and less.

The past couple of months i have bought about 10-12 games and have hardly played any of them. I have had Resistance 2 for nearly two weeks now and have still yet to even take the disc out of the box. That was just an example basically all the games i have bought lately are similar or i might of put an hour or two at most that is it.

This is why i have i wouldn't say grown out of video games but i just don't have time for gaming anymore with work and my social life which has been very busy and i just don't get drawn to play video games anymore.

This holiday i think will be my last big holiday season for gaming after buying around 10-12 games and not really playing any of them i think while the hobby has been awesome it has come to an end for me. I'm sure i will still play video games but it will probably only be an hour or so a weekat best.

This is it then im leaving Gamespot i will pop in every now and againand it will be the same with gaming i will be online every now and again that's it though.
