This year was no different with a lot of great games shown off like Kingdom Hearts 3, Sonic Lost World, Fable Anniversary, New Halo game, and much more (games not on my top list etc..) but there are always those few games that stand out where you are like, when that game comes out I am so getting it.. Its always enjoyable seeing whats new and coming up for games and starting the hype for Xbox 1 ane Ps4. Heres my personal favorite top 13 games that i liked at E3, this may or may not have been revealed at e3 but every game on my list had to make some appearance at the event.. so lets get started!

13. Sunset Overdrive (Xbox one)

sunset-overdrivexbox-onetempjpg-50e733_1

-Its weird for me seeing Insomniac Games now turning over and teaming with Microsoft to make a new Ip Exclusive to the Xbox 1, it features an open world with stylize graphics and art, and features colorful yet mature game. With it being an Open World Shooter and being made by Insomniac i can't help but be excited about this game, at the same time ever since Ratchet and Clank Crack in Time the team has not made a game up to par with that game, so we shall see

12. The Legend of Zelda: A Link Between Worlds (3DS)

legend-of-zelda-a-link-between-worldsgen

-With Ocarina of Time 3D being a pretty big hit, it was time for the new 3DS Legend of Zelda game, and thus we have a Link Between Worlds, if you have noticed I am not a big Zelda fan, I enjoy the characters and gameplay, but with me getting lost in the games quite freqently its become a turn off for me. That being said this game looks really intersting and looks to be a huge Seller this Holiday Season

11. Yoshi's New Island (3DS)

yoshis-new-islandgeneraljpg-50e951_160w.

-Yoshi has always been a series that i have adored. Yos hi story was one of the 1st games I beat on the N64 and even though its an easy game, for a me as a kid it was a pretty big deal. Yoshi Island DS was a fun game and i beat it, but it felt like something was wrong with overall level design in that it was not as good as the Original on SNES. although i really liked the Baby Swaping mechanic, the game just fell short of greatness.. This time it seems like the classic gameplay is back and the art direction is awesome to me. I can't wait for Yoshi's next Portable adventure in 2014

10. Infamous Second Son (PS4)

images?q=tbn:ANd9GcQeCQbnXsGOlshQI2kgXbU

- Sucker Punch is one of the best developers we have today with hits like Sly Cooper, Rocket Robot on Wheels, and Infamous the company has always made quality games that i have enjoyed. Now its turning it up with the new console bringing the greatness of Infamous and having a new Protagonist Delsin Rowe and featuring a brand new real life city of Seattle, the game looks amazing and is one reason why I am looking forward to PS4

9. X (tenative Title) (Wii u)

images?q=tbn:ANd9GcQ1gDVzgZOf7dTy7zE-H2U

- I just can't get this game outta my head. The E3 Demo has to be one of the coolest unexpected games i have ever seen. A mix between Dragon Hunter, Robots, RPG, and breath taking graphics. X might be Nintendo's Best new IP coming to Wii U. Xenoblade was an amazing game i sadly never played but i am even more hyped to play this game with Transformer like Mechs and vast Worlds this game seems to have to whole lot of awesome moments.. That song is stuck in my head lol..

8. Knack (PS4/PSVita)

images?q=tbn:ANd9GcQYjE6lYs_Fp0H_N7UsAk1

-I wish more games could be like Knack, at least Sony Japan feels the same as i do in that we dont have enough colorful Character Based Platformer games that were so big in the 90s early 2000s Its something i really miss in gaming and I am so glad a game like Knack is coming for PS4. With a really cool character who can change sizes and gain new abilities this game seems to combine 3D Platforming with Beat em up action looks really fun to me

7. Puppeteer (PS3)

256px-Puppeteer_box_art.jpg

- Puppeteer Shows that PS3 Still has a lot of Kick left, and maybe the swan song for the console before switching its main focus on PS4 game production. But this game looks better and better every time i see the game. With unique Scissor gameplay and switching your heads using all sorts of objects as heads with different abilities, Puppeteer is very unique game i can't wait to play. For me i got into video games by 2D platformers and still they are my favorite genre today (although we have seen very little from the genre recently) Puppeteer looks to me like the first Brand New IP 2D Platformer i have been waiting for so long. I can't wait till September to play this exicting game. I was very tempted to put this higher on the list i just don't want to overhype it yet.. but i am excited to say the least

E3 has come and gone for another year and whilst it wasn't as exciting as I hoped it might be it was still great. With new games revealed and the end of the years release schedule taking shape, it's time for my most anticipated games. Any game that isn't official announced yet such as Zelda Wii U can't make this list and neither can The Last of Us or Animal Crossing New Leaf as I have both pre-ordered for today.

Honourable mention- The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker HD(Wii U)- I never had a Gamecube so haven't played The Wind Waker. As such I am looking forward to playing it on Wii U but as a remake and a game that over the years I have learnt plenty about I've decided not to include it in this list.

12. Donkey Kong Country: Tropical Freeze (Wii U)

I was not expecting another Donkey Kong game to be Retro's secret new game and I will admit that I am disappointed that it is. However that doesn't mean it won't be a great game and one that I am looking forward to getting. I will definitely get it this year as it looks to build upon the quality foundations of Donkey Kong Country Returns.

11. Rayman Legends (Wii U)

Originally a Wii U exclusive that was set to be a launch title, Legends has seen two delays and gone multiplatform. It will now be out at the end of August and while time has diminished my excitement for it a little, I am still greatly anticipating it. 2011's Rayman Origins was a sparkling return to form for the limbless hero and I expect the extra development time will ensure that Legends is even better.

10. Pikmin 3 (Wii U)

I haven't played Pikmin 2 and I found Pikmin very difficult to get into. However I am encouraged by the comments from Mr. Miyamoto and the previews I have read for Pikmin 3. It won't feature the pressure of a limited number of days to complete it and features new controls and innovations that should make it much more inviting to play and easy to enjoy.

9. Professor Layton and the Azran Legacies (3DS)

The Professor Layton series may not have evolved much over the course of its five games but the quality has remained consistent high. New puzzles and engaging storylines keep things fresh and I expect Layton's final adventure will be no different.

8. Watch Dogs (Wii U/PS3)

I am currently undecided as to whether or not I will get Watch Dogs on Wii U or Ps3 but if the Gamepad is utilised effectively as Aiden's smartphone then I am sure it will be the former. Ubisoft's new IP looks genuinely unique and clever and I can't wait to see the different ways in which you are able to use Aiden's hacking abilities.

7. Super Mario 3D World (Wii U)

The Mario Galaxy games are a tough act to follow and it was never likely that the latest 3D Mario game would be up to their standard. 3D World could of course be so but from I've seen so far it looks like a very good game but not up to their  standard. The new Cat suit looks like a welcome addition and I'm sure there will be plenty more to discover. As always with Nintendo the proof will be in the playing.

6. Batman Arkham Origins (PS3)

Rocksteady may not be developing this prequel to the previous 2 Arkham games but that doesn't mean it won't match their standards. Everything I've seen so far is promising and I particularly like the new look of Detective mode and how it is going to play a bigger role this time. Batman being younger and more untested should make for a good challenge too.

5. Pokemon X/Y (3DS)

Every new detail I found out about the latest Pokemon games is making me more and more eager to play them. I have already pre-ordered Y version and October 12th can't come soon enough. The new world looks good and the plentiful new mechanics should make the game feel fresh and exciting.

4. The Legend Of Zelda: A Link Between Worlds (3DS)

I own A Link to the Past on GBA but have never been able to get into it. That hasn't stopped me greatly anticipating its successor though. I think that the ability to become a painting and merge with the wall is a great idea that will be used for some interesting puzzles. The game is set to make good use of 3D effects and the gameplay should be as high quality as we've come to expect from the Zelda series.

3. Star Wars Battlefront (PS4)

All we saw of this new game from Battlefield developers DICE was a very brief CGI teaser and the game is only in the ideas phase so won't be released for a couple of years. However I have been waiting for a new Battlefront game for years and I am so happy that one is finally coming. It may be a long way off but just knowing its coming is good enough.

2. Mario Kart 8 (Wii U)

One of the few reveals in the E3 Nintendo Direct that didn't disappoint was that of Mario Kart 8. It is looking stunning in terms of both graphics and gameplay. The new anti-gravity elements should bring a whole new dimension to the game and I expect the online offering to be even stronger than the previous two Mario Kart games. Spring 2014 is going to be brilliant when this is released.

1. Super Smash Bros 3DS and Wii U

This may technically be two games and I intend to get both versions as they will have at least unique stages, however I have included it as one entry here as I am anticipating both equally. Animal Crossing Villager and Megaman should be great additions to the character roster, although I am not so sure about Wii Fit trainer. Over the coming months we should get plenty of new info and I anticipate finding it all out. The gameplay should be as brilliant as ever but I am really looking forward to is a fully fledged online offering that Brawl lacked. If that is done right then these games will be something special.

Thanks for reading and of course there are plenty of games outside these top 12 I am looking forward too. Let me know your most anticipated in the comments.

Looks like there are some pretty sweet exclusives. A selling point of 500 Dollars and a release date of November. Still undecided which next-next gen console to go with. Hopefully the Sony press conference will have some tasty titles to show off.

Possibly the most important E3 of the last few years. Now that the PS4 and the XONE have been announced, we are awaiting more news on the details of these consoles and the bevvy of initial games we can expect on the systems. Naturally, a lot of these are expected to straddle the current generation and next-generation consoles, but word has it that there are an awful lot of new titles waiting to be unleashed. It's guaranteed to be an exciting week for video games. All of the DRM discussion regarding the XONE has been very unfortunate, especially considering the rise of always-on DRM on PC games. However, PC gamers like me have been living in a non-used game world for almost the last decade, so the entire problem blowing up now as a result of these new consoles is rather crazy. Still, it was bound to blow up eventually. Anyway, be sure to check out everything GameSpot is planning over the show including the usual stage show, interviews and the like, alongside our sister site Giant Bomb who will no-doubt be doing blow-out podcasts every evening and other nonsense. Also shout out to m'colleagues c_rake and edubuccaneer who are live in Los Angeles covering E3 for Entertainium.org (to which I've contributed a review or two including Fez and Poker Night 2), so be sure to check out all their content to.

Shipwreck Beach

In other news a lot of things have been happening which I haven't been telling you about because I've been neglecting this blog again. First off I've started infrequently streaming games on Twitch.tv. Already I've streamed some Curse of Monkey Island, FTL, Start Trek Online (in 3 broken parts) and Half-Life 2. Hope to continue to stream whenever I find the time convenient and I have a game that doesn't crash everything. For example I was experimenting with trying to stream XCOM and immediately my computer when to BSoD so I'm not trying that again in a hurry. Tune in some time soon (will announce on Twitter) when I hope to play through all of Portal (original) whilst discussing E3 developments we may learn this evening. Also feel free to suggest any PC games you'd like to see highlighted. Apologies for the background hissing on all the videos but this is just my bad quality mic and until I invest in a better one it isnt going away. In other news I've naturally been playing an innumerable host of video games, the major one being Tomb Raider (2013). I was pleasantly surprised by how downright great Tomb Raider was. Truth be told it isn't a Tomb Raider game anymore really, since the gameplay more closely approximates Uncharted rather than what you got in the old-style Tomb Raiders. Nonetheless, the rebooted Tomb Raider is an all-round great game to play, being a proficient third-person shooter with an interesting plot and great gameplay. Its internal progression of gradually giving Lara more and more equipment reminded me heavily of Arkham Asylum, as is its linear, hub-and-spoke approach to level design. Lara is a great character and although she very suddenly transitions from na ve archaeologist to bloodthirsty sole survivor, I had no problem with accepting it given all the downright horrible things that happen to her throughout the game.

I have more to say, but I haven't time since Microsoft Conference is about to begin! Hold onto your hats.

I watched the E3 TV Preview and noticed a couple of games I haven't been following! Is there any other games you're looking forward to this year? I'm keeping an eye on the gems and plan to follow the game page to get updates about them.

Things have been doing pretty good with the new gig. It sometimes doesn't feel like work because it is that much fun. Our game will be at the NVIDIA booth so if you're attending be sure to drop by to check out the tech destruction demo, currently not in the open beta. Oh, I guess the secret is out if you follow my Twitter (HWKJody. The game is HAWKEN.

Lastly, I can't believe my last blog reached over 200 comments. Thanks again for everyone's kind words. I only saw one rage quit from  the site, and even he wished me well. Also, if you don't already have me on Steam (xpcaligirl) or Raptr (CaliGirl), feel free to add me!

And.. have a Happy E3 week full of exciting news and hype! I'll have to make sure I take a peek in System Wars this week to see what you all think about the hardware and games. <3

Mon, 27 May 2013 08:46:13 -0700 david_lck writes: The Walking Dead Review http://www.gamespot.com/users/david_lck/show_blog_entry.php?topic_id=m-100-26025315 The stench of rotting corpses fills the air, alone and separated from your group, fear begins to set in. As you scramble gingerly and take a glance of the inhospitable surroundings, a slight misstep could spell the end. In the distance, the sound of chewing and gnawing is all too familiar. A horde of walkers have claimed yet another life. When will it all end?

Lee Everett, the games protagonist is first seen in a patrol vehicle on route to prison. A former university professor, his reputation is now tarnished and battered. What he doesnt know is that the next few days will make all that pale in comparison. Within minutes, a walker causes the vehicle to swerve and tailspin onto the side of the road, spiraling out of control into a ditch. Dazed momentarily, Lee makes his way out of the wreckage by breaking the windscreen.

Lees very first encounter with a walker is truly memorable as the policeman, or at least whats left of him is crawling menacingly towards you. A quick glance to the right, you notice a shotgun beside you. Left with no choice, you are forced to put it out of its misery. Fumble and take too long to react, and it could get messy.

The walkers here are no pushover

The Walking Dead presents you with many different choices to play the game. Do you shoot someone to save them from the unimaginable pain of being eaten alive? Take supplies that isnt yours out of sheer desperation or risk starvation? Choosing to spare the life of a maniac isnt so easy when the opportunity presents itself. Be the guy who thinks of nothing but the safety of the group or one that everyone would loathe and despise. These are just some of the choices that the game presents to you. How you choose to respond, whom do you pledge your allegiance with, or decide to rescue they ultimately go a long way in altering the game. Which is why, playing differently on your next session just to see what other alternatives can unravel is very much encouraged.

No zombie apocalypse would be complete without a well diverse cast, and this is where The Walking Dead delivers. Staples of the genre; college jock, the journalist with a keen eye, an overly protective dad, and an orphan are just some of the different people you will meet. Their motives and hidden agenda bring much conflict and tension once food and medication supplies run dry. Often at times, Lee will have to play peacekeeper and attempt to diffuse the situation.

With top-notch writing, initiating conversations isnt a chore but an integral experience. Friendships turn hostile, uneasy alliances are formed out of sheer desperation, romance could spark as you get to know someone, this game has emotion down to a pat. And in an industry marred with many one-dimensional characters that fail to engage, the cast here are well-rounded and relatable.

Amidst the chaos, humanity is very much alive

Players use the left analog to control Lee while the right one is reserved for looking around the environment. Everyday tools such as shovels, ladders and wrenches can be used to get out of a sticky situation or to fight off incoming walkers. Conversations are more often then not, timed as you are forced to choose from four options to respond. Get caught telling a lie and you will be called on it, raising further suspicion on Lee. Your actions are also tied and timed to the D-pad. Be too quick and press on the trigger, and it will alert walkers to your presence. With the onrush of footsteps and no escape in sight, scanning the environment for an exit or a tool that you can use, is bound to set your heart racing.

Point and click games will always have the issue of certain items and objectives not being highlighted clearly enough which is bound to frustrate and cause moments of aimlessly wandering around, but as they occur so rarely, it doesnt detract from the experience. If you appreciate a well woven tale that is high on drama and intrigue, $20 is all but a small sum. Ironically, The Walking Dead revives the slumbering point and click games from its grave to new heights, and sets the benchmark for others to follow. Season 2 cant come soon enough.

yum

Most bizarre moment (LOOK AWAY IF YOU HAVENT BEATEN THE EPISODE): Episode 2 will leave you disgusted once the motives of a group is revealed. Something about the St. Johns just doesnt seem right. With those shifty eyes and Brendas willingness to cook up a meal for our whole group, surely something is up. You see, they have a well thought out plan, survivors who wander onto the area will be presented with an offer that is too good to pass up on. Food for gas, you say? Fair trade in a world gone to shit. We will just keep you alive long enough and feast on your flesh. Its downright gory and sick, but thats what make this episode so awesome.

I just wanted to jump on here and thank you all for your support recently. Some of you may have seen the report on MCV -- if you haven't, please check it out. Loads of people have since been in touch with some very kind messages, mostly expressing their opinions on what happened, and what's happening to GameSpot UK in general. The GameSpot UK Podcast page offers some particularly interesting feedback, all of which I've been paying very close attention to.

Subsequently, a lot of people have been in touch asking what I'm up to now. The last couple of weeks have been really exciting -- I've put out the first episode of my new weekly podcast, which not only reunited me with Jane Douglas, Lucy James and Dan Maher, but also went to number one on the iTunes chart. I've also been busy writing for Wired, appearing on BBC and Sky News, and updating my YouTube channel with new videos. In the next few weeks I'll be sitting on a BAFTA games journalsim debate, interviewing Rhianna Pratchett at the Hay Festival, talking about the next Xbox on CNN and BBC, and of course heading out to E3. If you're going to be attending any of those events, please say hi, and if not, I look forward to hearing from you over on my website or on Twitter. There's loads more coming down the line, but for now, please let me know what you think! See you all again soon.

I am back. I feel bad for leaving without notice. I did send my good friend angelbless a long message on Skype to send to the Final Fantasy Fans Union, where I am officer at, not sure if that got through, so I guess all of you felt like I just left you... Which I guess... is understandable if you hate me now.

But anyway, for those of you who don't hate me, THANK YOU, because I don't hate you either

Anyway, for the past year and my absence on GameSpot, I have pretty much been... well busy actually. Like, I don't know... I really missed GameSpot. I would come on PSN sometimes and see people from GameSpot. I would sometimes check the unions throughout the last year and see people are still there being loyal and posting... and I felt guilty

I was under so much pressure with everything, and to be honest, the pressure isn't even off me yet, but I guess you can say I've learned how to handle it better. I got a new girlfriend who I have been with for over a year and four months now. This is probably my longest lasting relationship, and I really feel like I am going to always be with this girl. She's made me very happy, and while there have been the usual normal common problems here and there, it's been going well

As for school, well... I am 6th in my class of 900, so that's pretty good, with a GPA of 6.0. This is my last year in high school and I am on my way of getting the International Baccalaureate (IB) diploma, a very high prestigeous diploma that is better than the average high school diploma.

Apart from school, the girlfriend, I have also been applying for colleges, and a job. I got accepted into Florida International University so I am on my way to becoming a Software Developer, yay me As for with the jobs... well I applied last month, 2 weeks past, haven't heard anything. Any advice from you guys?

I can honestly say that I have missed my friends here on GameSpot. This was the place where I pretty much expressed myself and to be honest was more closer with everyone here than I was with my own friends in real life. So it really hurt me kinda, having to leave, but now that I am back I feel like I belong again.

I hope you all understand and I am back as I said, and am ready to stay.

Thank you all who have read, and thank you all who are still my close friends. Love you all, and have a good night

I have read a little bit about the process and feel confidend that i could pull it off. But before plunging in and spending the money i wanted to run my ideas by some people first to save some hassle hopefully and get some good advice. I already have a few parts picked out that i feel would be a good start. I was hoping i could get some influence as to if they are compatable. Also some inside on some other essentials. Any help is greatly appreciated.

I'm not into hardcore EV training or using several of the different methods to find shinys or anything like that (though who doesn't like shinies?!). I enjoy the gameplay, catching as many as I can, training, etc. Seems they made Black 2 extremly easy to replay, with many side missions and battles to be had after the champion is defeated. Nice additions with the Dream World, and I'm glad you don't have to carry anything around with you like the little Pokewalker thingy.

Obviously my Pokemon game playing back when I was 13 wasn't a big deal. Well how about now when I'm 27? Surprisingly, there's still quite a few people out there that I've run into that still play them. Not many of my real-world friends are gamers, so when I heard that plenty of them enjoy these games I was shocked. Kinda made me feel better about the fact that I still like them.

So, any of you still play them? If so, I'm always looking for trading partners to complete the pokedex and help me evolve those Pokemon that need it. Feel free to PM me your friend code.

P.S. Yes, this is my first blog in almost a year. Sue me

Pharmacy school, like medical school, is a 4 year graduate level program in itself, but you only need 2 years of undergraduate studies before going to pharmacy school so many colleges offer 6 year programs directly out of high school which is what I did. So that puts me in the 2nd year of the actual graduate-level pharmacy curriculum, which is the most difficult yet. But I'm doing fine - academics have never been an issue for me, and while it certainly is tough, I never have been nor will I ever be worried about passing - and I thank God for that.

I'm not back on Gamespot by any stretch of the imagination, I'm simply posting this as an update in case anyone here still cares, and also because I'm bored.

In terms of gaming, I've been playing Halo for the past 2 years and I don't anticipate any other online multiplayer game grabbing my attention away from the Halo franchise for the foreseeable future. I had my time with Uncharted 3, but after a hiatus from it, I just don't find it that appealing anymore now that I've experienced Halo. When I get more time, I will be going through my still huge backlog of PS3 games - probably in the summer. But for now, if you want to play Halo 4 with me, add Chuck Finley BD (GT inspired by Burn Notice) on XBL and let me know GS sent you.

My PSN ID remains Pat_on_your_back and if I should happen to create a new one for the PS4, I will be sure to let you guys know. I do plan on playing GOW Ascension online, and also future Uncharted games online, but I doubt anything will replace Halo as my mainstay of online gaming. I may also try AC3 online but I haven't touched that game yet and it probably won't be so popular anymore by the time I get around to it, if ever.

Part of me misses this place, but the other parts are tired and want to go to sleep.
So to my former and current friends on GS, and anyone else reading this, peace ... until next time

- Patrick

Well, for the next week they are doing "invite a friend get an item" promo.

If you could DL the game, play the tutorial quickly and enter my referral code when you get lvl 10 I'd get an exclusive.

You may end up really liking the game, but even if you don't just playing the game a little would help me out a bundle.

This is a mobile game either for Android or iPhone.

Thanks and enjoy!
