I do apologise for knocking several people down. I just wanted to quickly blog about my new purchase of Xenoblade Chronicles on the Wii.

It's bloody awesome.

Europe 1 America 567, 002

(that's the score of the better games in our regions)

I mean seriously, though we're lucky to get one of the three Operation Rainfall games, Europe regularly gets shafted over games. We missed out on all six Final Fantasies, Earthbound, Chrono Trigger. Even Australia got a game that Europe never got a look in, Chibi Robo Park Control for the DS, which I have and is great.

I will say for the American friends I have, it's definitely worth fighting for and I recommend that you should get a Classic Controller Pro for it. But even using the standard Wiimote-Nunchuk setup is still pretty good but it's more intuitive and natural with a proper controller.

The Wii is sooo undernourished and having a game of this quality highlights that.

I might do a review of it soon.

I don't plan to keep playing it but I'm a big fan of Warcraft 3 and it felt like the right time to see what was the fuss about.

I cannot really understand why the game needs 10gb but somehow it installed in under 5 minutes. As evidenced by this pic, time flows oddly in the magical world of Azeroth

30% is around half the wait

On another news I'm using my free time for pointless websites. I'm giving the final touches to a tribute to the infamous Clock channel from the simpsons www.theclockpage.com and I'm starting a social network to write poetry. Which is less say, unproductive, illogical, inmonetarizable.

I want to play some games, but nothing is catching my attention for the PS3. There are a lot of good games in the horizon however. Dark Souls and the ICO collection and I'll probably will get Uncharted 3 and The Elder Scrolls which looks really really cool. Oh and I suppose I'll have to wait for FF Versus too, though it seems Square decided to work in a sequel to their horrendous main IP and put it on hold. I'm holding my breath to see if Square Enix announces a KH or something but they've gone from being my favorite dev to the least.

What are you playing now and which games are you waiting to get?

I've worked on several games in that time but Bastion is the one that's far and away the most personal since our team was so small. It's also the first game I've worked on as writer and creative director. If you have a chance to try it, please let me know what you think.

I have been working a lot (still) and I still love it. Add to that the fact that I do work in Video Games now and so I try to curtail what I do post to avoid sounding like I'm speaking for my company (I'm not, any opinion expressed here is my own solely) and/or accidentially commenting on something where I have more knowledge than is publically availible.

No, I won't reveal which company I work for, but I've helped on several games and I couldn't be prouder of where I'm at today.

Thanks to all for the good times and I wish I could check this more often, but it is amazing that when you love your work you actually do work harder and more.

*hugs to all*

Dawn

Wed, 19 Mar 2008 01:40:15 -0700 Brad writes: Happy trails... http://www.gamespot.com/users/Brad/show_blog_entry.php?topic_id=m-100-25354359 ...to you, until we meet again (and I'm sure we will). Just a quick note to say this Friday will be my last day at GameSpot.

I hate long goodbyes, so this will be quick. Believe it or not, GameSpot has been paying my bills for well over eight years now, first as a freelancer, then an intern, then a freelancer again, then finally an editor, at which point I packed my bags and headed from North Carolina out to the left coast to work in the office fulltime. I'm learning that leaving a job after so many years feels more like a breakup than a simple professional transition, but it's time for a break all the same.

The hardest part will be leaving all my coworkers behind, whom I admire and will miss each in their own way. You wouldn't believe the number of talented and inspiring people I've been lucky enough to cross paths with--and in some cases, truly befriend--in my years here. Pretty humbling, really. Keep on keepin' on, y'all.

As has become the fashion, I've set up a blog if you want to keep up with my exploits:

http://verbocracy.blogspot.com/

I've had a blast busting out content for you guys and gals all these years. Catch you on the flipside.
