I wanted to write about this subject last week, but I had so much work to do on my Master's research.

I know that this subject will cause a lot of controversy. Please remember that this is my opinion, you may like and you may not, either way let me know what you think.

There are a few games and franchises, which I think are overrated or over-hyped. I am going to list them alphabetically and will state my reasons as well.

1- Bayonetta: Totally overrated. Weak story, poor graphics, and ugly voice acting. The action in this game is so fast that sometimes I had no idea what was happening on the screen. I didn't like it at all.

2- Brutal Legend: Poor graphics, tedious gameplay, annoying sound track and an unbelievable story. Totally overrated.

3- Call of Duty (franchise): Don't get me wrong, I loved Modern Warfare when it first came out, but since then, every call of duty is the same. The same engine, the same mechanics and even the same plot over and over. What bothers me the most, is that reviewers use COD as a standard for comparison. Every FPS is compared to COD in some way, and every time COD has to win. I am telling you COD is not even that good. Many FPSs were underrated because of it, andthat is wrong. I know the game has a massive multiplayer mode, but that's it. Battlefield and Medal of honor are better franchises in my opinion.

4- Dead Rising (franchise): Poor concept, repetitive gameplay. You kill zombies and save civilians. That's it. Overrated.

5- God of War (franchise): This franchise is so overrated and over-hyped. I know, I know, God of War III was a technical achievement; the graphics, the scale, but that's it. The other games in the franchise are the same, the only difference is the boss encounters. Why would reviewers compare every action game to GOW, I have no clue. Why is it considered as a standard, I have no clue either. In my opinion Castlevania: Lords of Shadow, and Dante's inferno were better than GOW3. Both were compared to GOD3 and then underrated.

6- Prototype: Where do I start? I don't think this game belonged to this generation of consoles. It should have been released on the PS2 and the XBOX. The concept of the game is very good, but it was delivered poorly. Graphics belong to the past generation, gameplay is tedious and confusing.What really bothers me is that inFAMOUS was compared to it in many reviews, while there is a huge difference between both games.

I would like to continue, there are many gmes that I would like to mention but Idon't wantthe blog to be long and boring. If you liked this blog and would like to read more about overrated games,please let me know.

1.Best Action game:

COD Black Ops

I love call of duty games and this one is my type of action game.The campaign was too short but amazing.The story is the best of it. I finished it twice on Recruit and Veteran.

2.Best Action Adventure game:

Alan Wake

3.Best Strategy game:

Starcraft 2:Wings of Liberty

This game is sweet. SC2:WOL is one of the best strategy games of all time. The campaign is incredible and I love every moment of it. The ending is shocking. I recommend it to everyone whether he/she is a fan of strategy games or not.

4.Best Beat'em up:

Bayonetta

The Character was so hot and the dialogs are funny. The battles are so huge because the bosses are as giants as skyscraper

i)Best AI:

Halo Reach

This game is so tough even on lower difficulties. Your enemies have reactions to all of your shots and actions. You should play this game to understand what I'm saying.It's so challenging.

ii)Best Boss Fights:

Darksiders

I choose Bayonetta for best beat'em up game but in this game,for killing every boss you should use different strategies and weapons.Every weapon you gain in this game is used.

My 2010 game of the year:

ALAN WAKE

You know how muchI love this game. It's a big hit for X360.Unfortunately it came out with great games such as Red Dead Redemption and many gamers forgot to buy or rent this great game. I love its atmosphere,the way of its story telling. For anyone who has X360 and didn't play this game:

"IT'S WORTH AT LEAST TO RENT.YOU WON'T GO WRONG WITH IT"

Can't say the same for gaming however, compared to 2009, and apparently 2011, this year was pretty meh, besides God of War 3, Need for Speed Hot Pursuit, Gran Turismo 5, and Red Dead Redemption.

My reasoning for not getting GoW3 you may ask? Well, I don't want it as badly as I want some other games, such as DQ9. And I'm guessing that DQ9 will last me until Kingdom Hearts: Birth by Sleep comes out on Sep. 7. Hopefully that will last me until Assassin's Creed: Brotherhood comes out, which I still haven't pre-ordered. And if I can't get Brotherhood, THAT'S when I'll get GoW3. The price would've dropped even more, and I wouldn't have bought any games for a while. And if I can't get either, by that time Christmas is just around the corner! It's so crazy it might just work! MWAHAHAHA!!!...Ahem.

Now I just have to hide the fact from my mom that I bought a new game. She was yelling at me yesterday because I wanted to My car was in for its routine inspection, and I texted her asking when my car was going to be back. That's ALL I texted her. She called me at lunch and asked, "Why, what do you want to buy?" I of course said, "Nothing." She knows me all to well

In other news, I still haven't been able to finish Special Ops in MW2. I'm just 8 missions away. The problem is that the servers for it really suck (LAG CITY), and I can never find a partner. However, I would like to thank BboyCG013 and Megaman5364 for helping me get through some of the missions and earn some trophies! Thanks guys!

So, I'm off to play some DQ9! What games have you guys picked up lately?
