It honestly doesn't seem like I've accomplished much, nor does it feel like it's actually hit me yet. I'm not sure if it will ever hit me like it does with other people. In all, it just felt like another day. I haven't gone through my whole graduation ceremony yet, that's not until Sunday. Still, I doubt I'm going to feel that much different once that nonsense is complete with.

Anywho, I don't have much to say about finishing high school. It was mostly a breeze for me, I believe I should end up with exactly a 4.0 GPA factoring in Honor's courses. Not sure how I'm feeling about college yet, or 4 more years of school, especially when I still have no idea what to major in and everything. I will probably finally find some sort of job this summer, but I'll of course be sitting on my ass a lot playing video games, and also trying to get off my ass enough to stay active and whatnot. I hope to write a good chunk of reviews over the course of the Summer as well, and I'm already off to a good start.

One of my last classes I took was a college writing class, and I believed it helped me out a bit with my writing. It remains flawed of course, but I do have a few better strategies now. For instance, it's not a good idea to whip out an entire review in a day, at least it isn't for me. It seems a decent piece of writing needs more than just a day, that way you can come back to it later, look over it, change what you don't like, and, by then, you should have a decent idea of how to continue where you left off. Furthermore, it helps a ton to jot down a bunch of stuff you want to cover in your writing, and at least try to organize the topics of your paragraphs. Of course this all may sound like obvious advice, but it's stuff I've often neglected.

So check out my review if you want: http://www.gamespot.com/littlebigplanet-karting/user-reviews/811404/platform/ps3/

If not, that's always fine. Also, if you happen to be one of the few people who still try to write reviews on here, what strategies do you use? What helps you write a review, whether it be the motivation, structure, or anything else? Do you just take a few hours and call it good, or do you spend a few days taking the time to edit, revise, and all that good stuff?

Yeah, I suck at sticking to one topic in my blogs, sorry about that.

The redesign of the dualshock was interesting. i doesnt look the best, but personally if it is ergonomic and functional, i would take that over looks all day.

It's unfortunate that ps3 games aren't compatible. Gaikai is very a good feature because this is where i see the future of gaming going, online streaming.

Also not showing the console is both good and bad for Sony. Good meaning Microsoft hasnt seen it yet, but bad because fans are all angry for not getting to see it. I dont know if it was a good move or not, but hopefully it will work out for Sony.

Personally, I am still excited for the console. I most likely will not get it at launch because of the backlog of game I have for ps3. But regardless, i will eventually get a ps4. I really hope it's not too expensive as well. Max im spending is 500$ and hopefully it will come with some extra components or games for that price.

Rockstar has finally revealed that the game will come to consoles in the second quarter of 2013, an announcement fans are undoubtedly excited about. After all, what's new that the company prepared to compensate the agony of those who can not wait to return to Los Santos? Unfortunately, we still have to wait a while longer to find out, as the publisher continues its silent policy regarding details on the fifth game in the franchise, releasing new information in small doses -- to our despair. On the other hand, this does not stop us from speculating. While no novel feature has been confirmed, our expectations lie in improvements around what already exists. For as grand and exciting as the games are, they are not perfect. There is always that edge that needs to be trimmed so that the result is even better. But instead of talking about what I want out of GTA V, I decided to just list the points that I dont want to see in GTA V. You know that one feature that made you twist your face in one of the previous games? Chances are theyre exactly what I want out of what is already touted as one of next years most anticipated games.

worst-five-gta-v.jpg

Girlfriends and inconvenient friends

We're obviously not talking about your social life outside of video games, but within them. One of GTAs notable features is focusing on a protagonists non-criminal life, showing that they are also people who come out to have fun and meet new people. The problem is when this game disrupts their "work". Who honestly didnt got angry on hearing the phone ring and discover that your friend wants to go bowling or your girlfriend wants to go to a new restaurant at the exact moment you're doing an important mission or engaged in a police chase? Exploring this social side was at times and brought many possibilities, but it was poorly executed. The phone calls that arose in the worst situations, forced the player into change his route to satisfy the character with whom he made a point. We want GTA, not Sims. This does not mean, however, that Im not up for any side-quests. They give life to the world and makes everything more interesting. In this case, Id rather do them any time I want, not when somebody calls me in a middle of a mission. Flirting and hanging out with friends are cool, as long as it does not break the rhythm of the game's central activity.

Exaggerated realism

One of Rockstars secrets on GTAs success is betting on a formula that combines extreme realism with fantastical elements that would never be possible in the streets of real cities. After all, who ever imagined taking a car would be easy regardless of any traffic law? In Los Santos, the police are unforgiving. That's exactly what we do not want to lose in the new game. Some of the rumors surrounding GTA V state that the police will be more attentive. Even "minor" crimes such as speeding or passing a red light will earn you a star on the meter pursuit. Actually, this is an issue that can potentially divide opinion. On one hand, it may be an interesting addition. That would put more realism, so long as the arrest is ordered only if you are caught red-handed. Under these conditions, I wont complain. However, if it happens automatically I still get caught regardless, it can turn frustrating fairly quickly. Much of the fun sandbox-type games is stepping on the gas and destroying everything that appears in front of you, despite what the DMV Los Santos has to say. Half of that charm dies if you are forced to stop in traffic or have to escape the car all the time.

Weapon customization

GTA is not primarily a shooter, even with its extensive list of available weapons. The essence of the series has always been something looser where the fun is you approach a particular situation. That's why customization and equipment evolution is risky. Improving your weapons can be quite useful in other games, but it does not always fit. Think about how often you actually cared about every single weapon used in previous games. Virtually none, right? That's because what makes the franchise so much fun is exactly the uncompromising freedom we have at our disposal. In the end, we do not care if that rifle because 12 or 15 damage, but if he is able to kill one opponent before the police arrive. Risking this approach can make GTA V to approach many third-person shooter games of out there - something that we do not want in any way.

Multiplayer

One of the worst trends of this generation is that everything has to have multiplayer. Games that were heavily focused on the single player campaign received an extra mode so you can challenge or collaborate with others. Although some titles like Assassins Creed III have managed to bring something unique and deviate from shooting other people in the face others have not. Rockstar has put multiplayer modes in previous GTA games, but the results were never satisfactory. As much as the idea of putting everyone in town in a huge Deathmatch looks interesting, it is shallow and does not have a lasting impact. That's why, in GTA V, we want a multiplayer thats actually worth investing hours in. The idea of exploring Los Santos in online mode can even be reused, provided that we have different ways to explore the vastness of the map optimally. If Rockstar is able to create something different and implement creative ways to explore multiplayer, Im on board. Otherwise, Rockstar should stick with the single player, a fact that they do best.

Zombie mode

By all that is holy in this world, thats enough! Zombies are cool, but that's no excuse to put them in everything. see it as more of a joke, especially when games introduce "new" modes that arent exactly new. I kindly ask Rockstar to not do the same with GTA V. This basically started with Red Dead Redemption, but because the game entered in a context entirely consistent with the proposed theme. Moreover, killing hordes of zombies can get old fast. The whole infestation has lasted three years is no longer amusing to me., In fact, it is absurd youre to do something slightly different, let the dead out in their tombs and bet on another niche, like dinosaurs, aliens or anything else - but no more zombies!

I could go on about things I dont want in Grand Theft Auto V, but thats where Ill stop. Though I think Rockstar is an exceptional developer, it does not mean theyre exempt in making mistakes. Now that Ive gotten that out of the way, I want to know what features or elements you dont want to see in GTA V. Surely there must be some characteristic you think does not fit the games universe. Feel free to say it in the comments. But what if the studio decides to ignore us and put it all in the final product? As frustrating as it is to say, I'm sure that fact will matter little and we'll buy the game anyway.

Hey everyone! How are you all been? I've been doing all right. Just wanted to do a quick update on my goals for the remainder of 2012. It's been about just a bit under a month. It's been going surprisingly well so far. Here's the progress I've made so far.

Goal #1. Running consistently running three to four times a week. I'm almost there. I'm currently running 2 times a week and glad to say that my ankle hasn't been a bother. Only have been doing 4-5 miles on those runs so hoping that sometime soon that I can get get a third run in and keep it going at it consistently from here on out.

Goal #2. Lose 20 lbs. Kinda wish that I have lost more than 3 lbs so far but it is what it is. I have been eating a lot better now than before but still room for improvement. Been drinking tea a lot more often now. I usually have one first thing in the morning or in the evenings. Hoping to lose maybe 6 lbs in October.

Goal #3. Find a job. Eh, job market sucks but got two interviews this upcoming week so we will see how they go. Just received a phone call from a recruiter earlier today and they said they were interested in me so that sounds good.

Oh last time I said I had a fourth goal which I forgot what it was but now I remembered. It was to try and go to sleep consistently at a better time. Two weeks ago I was sleeping about at midnight but last week it was very inconsistent with sleep times from 3 am to 8 am. Need to find a way to stay consistent with that.

Really not much else going on. Hope you are all doing well.

Fri, 23 Mar 2012 09:25:26 -0700 DR-ZMBK writes: So overrated "over-hyped" (3 of 3) http://www.gamespot.com/users/DR-ZMBK/show_blog_entry.php?topic_id=m-100-25977370 Hi everyone,

I wanted to write about this subject last week, but I had so much work to do on my Master's research.

I know that this subject will cause a lot of controversy. Please remember that this is my opinion, you may like and you may not, either way let me know what you think.

There are a few games and franchises, which I think are overrated or over-hyped. I am going to list them alphabetically and will state my reasons as well.

1- Bayonetta: Totally overrated. Weak story, poor graphics, and ugly voice acting. The action in this game is so fast that sometimes I had no idea what was happening on the screen. I didn't like it at all.

2- Brutal Legend: Poor graphics, tedious gameplay, annoying sound track and an unbelievable story. Totally overrated.

3- Call of Duty (franchise): Don't get me wrong, I loved Modern Warfare when it first came out, but since then, every call of duty is the same. The same engine, the same mechanics and even the same plot over and over. What bothers me the most, is that reviewers use COD as a standard for comparison. Every FPS is compared to COD in some way, and every time COD has to win. I am telling you COD is not even that good. Many FPSs were underrated because of it, andthat is wrong. I know the game has a massive multiplayer mode, but that's it. Battlefield and Medal of honor are better franchises in my opinion.

4- Dead Rising (franchise): Poor concept, repetitive gameplay. You kill zombies and save civilians. That's it. Overrated.

5- God of War (franchise): This franchise is so overrated and over-hyped. I know, I know, God of War III was a technical achievement; the graphics, the scale, but that's it. The other games in the franchise are the same, the only difference is the boss encounters. Why would reviewers compare every action game to GOW, I have no clue. Why is it considered as a standard, I have no clue either. In my opinion Castlevania: Lords of Shadow, and Dante's inferno were better than GOW3. Both were compared to GOD3 and then underrated.

6- Prototype: Where do I start? I don't think this game belonged to this generation of consoles. It should have been released on the PS2 and the XBOX. The concept of the game is very good, but it was delivered poorly. Graphics belong to the past generation, gameplay is tedious and confusing. What really bothers me is that inFAMOUS was compared to it in many reviews, while there is a huge difference between both games.

I would like to continue, there are many gmes that I would like to mention but Idon't wantthe blog to be long and boring. If you liked this blog and would like to read more about overrated games, please let me know.

Please remember, this is my opinion. Some of you will agree, many will not. Either way, please let me know what you think and why?

Are there any overrated "over-hyped" games that you would add to this list?

Thank you for reading.

Peace!

1. Dark Souls

2. Skyrim

3. Portal 2

4. The Witcher 2

5. Magicka

6. Battlefield 3

7. Infamous 2

8. Sonic Generation

9. Little Big Planet 2

10. Orcs Must Die

Note that I only own a PC and PS3 so any 360 or Wii exlusive did not have a chance to make it in. I also currently own Deus Ex: Human Revolution, Saints Row: The Third, Batman Arkham City, and Crysis 2 but have not played enough of any of them to consider them for my Top 10. Of course after I play them I'd assume my list would be changed but I am just letting you know hwy those games are absent from this list.

Yesterday , I finally earned my 6th platinum trophy . I admit , after starting this game three months back , I did'nt think earning the platinum for it would turn out to be such a difficult task . When I first saw the kind of things I'd have to complete on my way to a Platinum , I did feel a little intimidated . The task felt daunting at first , but I pulled through .

Prototype

Definately the hardest game I've ever platinum'd . It was a great and fun journey though ( with a few frustrating moments here and there )

And I just got Assassin's Creed 2 about a week back . Now that I've platinum'd Prototype , I guess I'll be moving onto AC2 , and yes , I will be aiming to earn my 7th platinum with it as well .

Along with AC2 , I've got a pretty jam packed christmas . My dad will be coming down from the gulf , so we'll be having a nice family re-union . And I'll be getting a brand new 4th generation ipod touch for christmas as well . So I'm really psyched about that . I'll definately post pictures when I get it . This is my first apple product . I've never really owned an mp3 player of my own before , inspite of me being such a music nut .

AS for my GOTY 2010 , I feel that Red Dead Redemption truly deserves this title ( although I have'nt played ME2 ) . Either way , it's been a crazy year of gaming , filled with a lot of surprisingly awesome games , and quite a few disappointments as well .

Anyways , a ...

VERY ...

MERRY ...

CHRISTMAS ...

TO ALL MY GS FRIENDS . . Hope y'all have a good one ...
