Ever wanted to create your own RPG but your not a programmer? Then this is for you.
You create games by making the sprite based maps in the map editor which is easy and then you make "events" that decides what's going to happen on the maps. You also have the database where you can mess around with a whole bunch of different things like heroes, monsters, skills, and much more.
Even though it's pretty easy to learn and use RMXP the system has a lot of depth and you can experiment whit a lot of things and make more complex more events.
RMXP improves on the previous versions RPG Maker 2000 and RPG Maker 2003 in a lot of ways. This time you can have a third layer in map making, unlimited sprite size, better graphics, and more.
The most important improvement comes with the option to go in the engine itself and rewrite the way it works so you can have a much greater freedom and be able to do a lot of things that isn't possible with events alone.
This is done by writing code in a language called RGSS that's a version of the object oriented language Ruby.
This feature adds a lortof needed depth to RMXP that the previous versions didn't have.
So, yet again, if you want ot make RPGs this all you need. I warn you though, it's highly addictive.
