I only need say one thing "God has blessed the gamer!"

I started using the RPG maker XP about 5 months ago and I have to say it's amazing. At first I didn't really have any idea how to even make a map but within a few weeks I had that figured out and was onto understanding the whole "events" thing. Though I had to look up a help file in English from the net, the system is very user friendly and just takes time to play with things and experiment. The biggest trouble I found I had was just wrapping my head around using the switches and variables but I have a really solid understanding now. These guys made an awesome tool for gamers, importing graphics is time consuming and can be a real pain at times but it's well worth it in the end. Sounds and music are a walking in the park to add but I suggest you get an audio editing tool or they [the sounds/music] wont fit the context very well. The "events" [something a lot like blizzards triggers for warcraft3 or starcraft] are really powerful especially if you take the time to play with them and try out new sequences [speaking of sequences that concept proved to be very important in the code]. I went from just being able to make map transitions and enemy encounters to being able to make complete animations, new weapons/skills [that's granting a player and or character a skill(s) if X weapon is equipped], and even mini games which can take place in real time and are not turn-based like the combat is. I'll admit while I still don't really understand how to use the scripts or even write my own I haven't needed them, this software's creators made it so flexible I haven't needed them [yet, I may one day]. There is so much one can do with a little creativity, ingenuity, and elbow grease, you don't have to have any understanding of programming or game design to use this software [but it doesn't hurt]. I would recommend this to anyone who has ever wanted to make a game, it is accessible to almost anyone and can make quite a large variety of games [not all RPGs and the scripts still aren't necessary as the creators suggest]. These guys [and any gals on the team] hold a very special place in my heart because of their work on this project. I would like to make one last point: I have tried a number of other different game making programs over the years and none of them has had this much flexibility or been as easy to pick up and that is the heart of the matter. For something like this to be really any good it has to have power without being to hard for an amateur to pick up and this has it in spades.
