Rome Total War is truly one of the best games I have ever played, it is the best of both in terms of strategy games, as it has a turn based campaign with real time battles. The depth it shows in both the campaign and battles is astonishing.

After a helpful tutorial you will know the basics of the battles and the campaign. In the campaign you will play as a faction, though you only start off with 3, you'll soon realise that there is a lot more once you conquer certain factions. You will manage the economy, the military, diplomacy and your family's expansion.

In historical battle mode you will be put into one of many great battles of the late BC times, battles such as Lake Trasimene or Teutoburg Forest and many other battles.

In custom battle mode you can create all kinds of battles with numinous different units to choose from and many battle maps.

If the AI is not a good enough challenge, vs a human opponent on multiplayer.

Overall if you are a fan of strategy then this is a must buy.
