SaGa has been hit and miss. Take the three games on the game Boy (renamed Final Fantasy Legend in the US). Those installments were really good, peaking at the second game. Without a doubt, Fnal Fantasy Legend II one of the greatest original Game Boy games period. SaGa Frontier not so much; the first suffered from vague objectives. The second though, shone with a cast of memorable caracters and stories that were best played one or two at a time, rather than 12 hours at once. Very Nice. Unlimited SaGa is undoubtedly the worst of the lot. A game in which you cannot even walk in ways other than moving what appears to be a little game peice from a boardgame was the coup de grace that killed that one before it began. Good music though. Romancing SaGa id definatley leaps and bounds beyond Unlimited SaGa by a long shot. The music is also terrific. The Character design, while slightly bizzarre, is solid. The environments are lush and full, though invisible walls are a little annoying. And the voice acting (which was a surprise) equally solid, minus the bizarre. The story is complelling enough to keep me playing, and while I can't say it's perfect , with the elements that make up the game as a whole being what they are, it's definatley better than average.
