The storyline was great but the load times KILL the experience!

In the end, I finally ran out of patience with three things. First, I could not get the crouch to work smoothly, even when I was lined up on an opening perfectly. As there are many tight places where this is necessary, this becomes a hassle. Secondly, the gravity gun never worked well. I spent way too much time stacking boxes, just to watch them fall in a heap because I moved too soon. This gets old real fast. While I appreciate the break from the shooting, this activity just does not have the puzzle solving element of Splinter Cell.
Finally, the load times just kill the immersive experience that this game promises. Just when I was really getting into the game, a level ended and the wait was too long to load the next level. I did appreciate the frequent checkpoints, reducing the need to replay portions of the game again and again.
Too bad there was no multi player mode. The settings in the game would make for some great battles with rifles, pistols and of course, the crowbar.
In conclusion, Half Life 2 delivers on the story and graphics, but the load times destroy the flow of the game. Perhaps the 360 version will solve this problem.
