An alright game, but it won't suck you in

I originally found Rocketmen on PSN as a free demo. Why not? It looked like a pretty alright game. I was right. Rocketmen, is a top-down shooter similar to Neo Contra. However, Neo Contra had a few edges on this game. First off, it's story made you care somewhat, however in Rocketmen, you really don't care about the story or hear about it because the characters have some pretty annoying dialog and obnoxious voices. One bummer in Rocketmen is that you need to find weapons to use them, so unless you find that really good assault rifle, you're stuck with your crap-wad of a pistol. And guess what? You're timed with your weapons. That's right. instead of getting ammo when you collect weapons, you get more time. Then again, it really doesn't matter because most enemies die in or two hits. The game also does a pretty bad job at telling you how to do some things, such as currency. On a positive note, the controls for the most part are smooth and easy to pick up and play. I believe it has online and it also has co-op so it gets points for that. at the end of the day, Rocketmen has an old-school appeal, cell-shaded graphics, and a nice pick up and play value. the demo has only one level, and that really dosn't justify shelling out ten bucks on the full version so all I can do is leave it up to you.
