Rock Band is probably the best music game I have ever played.

User Rating: 9.5 | Rock Band PS2
Guitar Hero, GHII, Encore, GHIII...

All were good, but after the first two, it's originality and fun lessened. Don't get me wrong; it's fun, but thats all it is. Nothing special.

When Rock Band was announced, I didn't really care. "It's just a waste of money and room," I said to myself. But then at my friends party, I played Rock Band on the 360. At first, I didn't exactly find it appealing - I heard it was too easy. However, after about one song, I was instantly hooked. I then proceeded to play World Tour for the rest of the night...

I was now ready to buy Rock Band, but I encountered a problem: RB on PS2 was lessened, no character customization, a stripped-down Band World Tour, and no Online.
But I still decided to get it, since I heard other than that, it was really the same thing.
I got it, and opened it with anticipation.

Upon opening it, I found a mic, a Fender Stratocaster Guitar controller, and peices to the drum set, all in strange boxes. What suprised me was that the contollers were PS3 controllers - but of course, the USB hub was included, so I didn't have to worry. However, I wondered why it didn't come with a bass guitar controller. I know it would have been too much, but I wish they had it in. Other than that, it's all good. I like the drum sticks.

Next, the game. It takes a long to load, but other than that, it's nearly perfect. The intro is a little awkward, but you can skip it, so that was good. When I began playing with my friends, it was a lot of fun. The song choice was good, and the way the game works was great.
Overdrive (this game's starpower) is much more useful than in GH, and is used to save fallen bandmates when they fail. I also like how you can veiw your stars form.

Solo is also fun, but isn't quite as good. The guitar is fun, and singing is okay, but they aren't as good as the drums. The drums are really fun and innovative to have in a music game. And they work well.

So overall, this game is nearly perfect. It's missing some of the things that do make it perfect, but overall, it's good. When I get a PS3, I'll definantly get that, but Rock Band for PS2 is still a good game.
