Cool. I've been playing drums for a few years and I agree with most of the stuff you said.

Good stuff. i highly believe many pedals get broken by people stomping on them rather then tapping their foot.

Just curious but does anyone else have absolutely no problem at all using their entire leg?
I mean yeah, my leg gets tired after an hour or so of constant play with high speed songs but isn't that a good thing?
I mean excersize is good mkay?
Only thing I wish is you could alternate legs to work them both out lol.
I will try the whole toe thing though (I'm sorry but the whole stretching before playing is a bit insane though...but yeah you do always get that advice before you exersize......I don't follow it t hough and have never had problems (35 now and have played many sports and exersize regularly without stretching first).
Also I have had a problem hitting the pedal to many times (especially if I get into a beat and then it suddenly stops or changes without warning) but rarely have a problem NOT hitting the pedal...it's the other way around for me...I feel like I SHOULD have hit it but the game does not call for one

Games are like life. If it's a good one, you really don't want it to end. Winning isn't everything, enjoying the game as much as possible is.

Just so you know, you dont own the copyright on your posts. There's something when you sign up saying that you give up the rights to anything posted on the boards.
I tried getting some stuff that I posted deleted(it was stuff that I posted before and someone else used in another topic with my permission at the time, so I couldnt delete it myself) and they wouldnt do it, Hell, they barely even acknowledged me.
Just for your information.

Good topic. I'm not a drummer but I hung out with drummers in high school and a lot of this agrees with what they taught me. I particularly liked the "double Tap" technique, as I had forgotten about it. Looking forward to the completion of your Advanced Techniques section.

Good advice I must say, I'm gonna have to practice the hands/feet rhythmic seperation. That alone has plagued me the most.
Also, I really don't understand the explanation of your double bass technique. I was trying it and yeah, my foot just kinda slides up to the top of the pedal. Maybe I just don't know what you mean by a skip, exactly? Or how, in moving my foot UP the pedal, I'm supposed to end up bringing it back down in the same spot? It needs some clarification...

Great advice man, thank you for taking the time to type it and post it up. Ignore the hater kiddies on here that bash the content though, they have no life other than doing that.

This ought to be helpful advice for some non-drummers. Thanks for the post, Crotch. You ought to go ahead and submit this as an FAQ. After all, that's what this site was originally all about. Being a contributer makes you better than the rest of the scum here.
When I heard about this game before release, I thought to myself that it had better have pedals for both the bass drum and the hi-hat. Imagine how much trouble THAT would've been causing for some folks.
I don't have the game yet, but I'll have it in a week or so, and I can't wait. I played drums in a local band for several years and look forward to the challenge. I can't play Guitar Hero for spit and will hardly use the guitar on this game. Without having to work the hi-hat, it ought to be a breeze playing drums, though.

Consider adding something about if your drumkit slides forward.
After I adapted my bass pedal methods to yours, I seem to have become quite a bit more accurate on the pedal notes in most cases, but now my drumkit gradually slides away from me while playing a song, due to the rocking movement of my heel and foot. It is quite aggravating, and nothing I've tried (pushing the whole set firmly down into the carpet first, taping it to things) really seems to hold it in place.
It feels a little more strenuous the way I am doing it right now but I can see how overall it will end up being easier on my whole leg. Part of the problem, though, is I'm not really clear on what you mean by the "midpoint" of the bass pedal. Is it that widest part where the orange line is? or are you talking about the exact center of the pedal? Because if I put my toe at the exact center, yeah...it takes quite a bit more effort than it should.
