Rock Band 3 will feature a new mode called Rock Band Pro. We go into greater depth about it here.
Pretty damn cool. Though it doesn't really teach you the proper technique or how to read music. Still, it's a video game, this is pretty awesome.
cool i dea but needs to be cheaper im mean 150 dollor guitar dang
@ckynick256 Actually, they do mention you can still play expert difficulty. And btw, GH is not comparable to RB, don't confuse Activi$ion with Harmonix.
I can see what he's saying with the real guitar but you are not a keyboardist if you can only play 2 octaves...
@vers1on My guitar/bass doesn't have to have the technology to read finger positioning, there are guitar tuners out there that can actually tell what note you're playing. Just put that software into the game to read the tones that are actually being played. If you're not a musician you wouldn't know this.
This is now way better than guitar hero. They aren't much of a hero anymore. More like lame guitar game. the only problem i see in this game is they have not stated is if you can still play at expert speed but like in rockband 1 and 2 not notes just keys. So if you do not want to learn the guitar or it is too hard you can still have speed fun not some slow easy bull.
@jojoforpres I'm not bashing music games and even if I was it's MY OPINION whether I think they suck or not, that's not trolling and I am allowed to voice my opinion as long as I'm not singling out or attacking people on an individual basis unlike you. Understand?? Probably not.

why is Mr. Interviewer so freaking awkward?
I thought Guitar Hero and Rock Band were a blast at first, but they got old very quickly. I'd always wondered why no one bothered to make a game that actually teaches you how to play the instruments. This actually seems like something I would invest in, if it works as a tutorial for playing instruments.
Personally I think this is cool (judgding from the video alone) it appeared to actually show what chords the guitars were playing. I think this will definately bring kids to wanted to learn music and instrument playing to a new level. Especially since a lot of music programs are being cut from schools. Just my 2 cents.
I wanted to know about the singing... did you f%&$ing fix it harmonix hmmm
@jojoforpres Actually, no, me saying the game is ridiculous and getting out of hand is not trolling, it's called expressing my opinion. Just because you don't share that viewpoint doesn't mean it's trolling. What kind of site is this turning into if you can't say a game is ridiculous without little goodie two shoes crying about "trolls."

So you're a keyboardist if you can play expert pro mode, eh? Sorry, you still need to learn how to read music, bud. I'm still intrigued by this new expansion of difficulty though. I know I'll be taking a shot at the keyboard pro. I've been waiting to translate my piano skills to the gaming world.
you will see keyboard on guitar hero
cooolll
LONG LIVE THE MUSIC!!!
Looking forward to it!
how many more music games there be??
My question is will all my DLC for rock band 1 and 2 and my green day tracks be compatible with this? I really hope so. I have a lot of Queen and I wanna add Bohemian Rhapsody to my playlist, not start a new one :P

how will Guitar Hero be able to keep up with this...?? Look forward to seeing : )
sweet can't wait

I can't wait for this. I will be poor again.
@kwanzudood: Too bad your standard guitar/bass doesn't have the technology in the neck to read your finger positioning and translate it on screen. However, if you buy the Squire Controller, you'll be able to plug it into an amp and play it like a real guitar. Same thing goes for the PowerGig Guitar controller.
very cool. I can't wait to check it out when it finally hits the AU market.
something useful indeed while having fun aswell
about freaking time make the time spent playing educationally FUN!
it's just a new wave of virtual games, i'm sure that i will love it, and the world too!
i'm not buying another guitar hero/rock band until it comes with a quarter-inch cable jack peripheral that i can plug my actual guitar and bass into.
Don t worry the next guitar hero will bring a new mode called "pro tour" or something like that...XD. Very original
I'm least impress by Guitar Hero making the characters appear like animals, but more impressed by Rock Band improving on ideas and functionality. Good job Harmonix, keep it up.
can't wait
I'm looking forward to Rock Band Pro. The guitar pro feature is cool!
This is really cool. Though it won't really help you learn to play an instrument, it can just teach you how to play specific songs. If you go buy a songbook for keys it isn't going to have a 10 key track on it, it's going to have notes. The guitar one might be a it more helpful since it looks a lot like playing with tab, you just won't know any chords.
I've hoping for a feature like this for a very long time judging how this game turns out this might be the first music rhythm game ive bought in a long time
This will definitely set your wallet back a bit. Plus we're gonna have to deal with a whole bunch of new "musicians" once every one starts learning their tricks on pro mode. As if there aren't enough of those dbags around. Looks like an innovative change though. Kudos!
I'd actually buy this :)
This is really promising. It looks a little complicated, but hey, it's actually opening the door to the actual instruments.

Man, I cannot wait 'till Rock Band 3 comes out now! 8D
realy need mony for this one, im start to believe lady gaga song!?!!?!?! thats money honey!
OK, this all sounds dandy but how much is it gonna cost me?
+1 at harmonix for attempting innovation.
Anticipation set to MAAAAAXX! You did not disappoint Harmonix. I knew you had something brewing.
im gonna be so poor after i buy this, but it looks to be worth the money, especially since my drums are on their last leg.
This loks very expensive for the whole band kit. it'll be worth it though ;)
now this, I'm excited for
Rock Band 3
