I think it's awesome how this will teach players to play a real instrument, as opposed to just timing and buttons. Definitely in on this.

Get the inside scoop on the Career mode in Rock Band 3.
This is gonna be ROCK!!!....RB games are incredible.. I can't wait for put my hands on this one!!!...
For all the instrument haters, and their "go play a real instrument" rants. For all you FPS players - go shoot a real gun. Go overseas and fight real wars. The purpose of games is to escape the realities of real life. I have been playing drums in real life for over 15 years, but I also play Rock Band - both are fun.
@lozvil I'm not a music game hater!!! But I'd like to see people take more interest in instruments, not just game. Nowadays music is very crappy and we need more people to make new a good songs
I don't see what the whole "instrument fuss" is all about. I mean, I don't think that anyone playing Rockband actually thinks that they are playing a real instrument. I personally am grateful to the game; I started playing drums after playing Rockband because it created an interest in the instrument for me. It is a great way to attract people to learning the real thing. It's a way to learn the bare-bone basics of any instrument as it helps improve your coordination. I believe this to be true with racing sims too; you get a small feeling of how cars handle and the absolute basics of how a car moves along the road. I am not saying that someone who plays sims is going to be amazing at either playing instruments or driving, however it creates a basic platform of interest.
@clap-trap0095 Dude, no need to call him a douche. I play real guitar and i dont play RB or GH. But I agree with Slash_out. Everyone should stop complain that its not like real instruments. Of course its not, its a game. If dont like it, dont play and leave the people who like alone.
@clap-trap How long would it take you to pick up a keyboard and play the organ part in Roundabout? And how long would it take your friends to learn the guitar, bass, drum and vocal parts to said song? Weeks? Months? Years? And this is assuming you have the skill in the first place, and a way to learn the music (a really good ear or lucky enough to find sheet music). Is it fun every step along the way? Conversely, how long would it take you to pick up a Rock Band controller with a bunch of your friends, crank up the surround sound and pretend like you are the epic band Yes? Music games and musical instruments are two different things which serve two different purposes. It simply doesn't make sense to say "you should play the real instrument instead", because people aren't playing Rock Band to *learn* how to play an instrument, they are playing to *pretend*. That's what video games are.
@Slash_out haha of course i read your comment you douche! i attacked you and then was talking to you but stating the obvious and talking to every one. dont waste your time on the game when you can learn the instrument and be good at the real thing. thats what i was saying to every one. haha and dude i know you didnt say that playing pro mode was like playing the instrument but you were close enough to saying that. and ok dude you play the piano well done. when people say you should play the real instrument instead of thinking you can on a game they are right.
@clap-trap0095 Dude... You should read my post before attacking it... Where does this "you shouldn't spend all your time on games" comes from? I never said anything remotly related to that. I merely stated that when people purchase Rock Band they do so because they want a game... because RB does not require lessons which are an imposition on your life... because RB is still a game unlike real instruments. And where did I say that playing in pro mode is like playing the real guitar? I stated precisely word for word that pro mode "added realism to the play style but in the end it's still a game". And what about that stuff you being in a band and playing RB/GH ? I never said you couldn't do both... Actually I said you could do both, or one or the other... I don't think you read me at all dude :p. Oh and I play the piano and have one. I know what a real instrument is like.
ingame cutscenes, cool, train up on instruments and get stuff? nice... I kinda wish you could choose where you go like have 2 or 3 locations to choose from, i am looking forward to rb3, but the guitar price, OUCH... but it's a real guitar, but still...
Rock Band games are the best music games ever. And, unlike GH's ups and downs, this series keep moving forward towards perfection. Can't wait to put my hands on RB3 (and the DLC to come!).
@lbptoady You said everything that I was thinkingThe Beatles Rock Band 2 is almost definitely not happening but I would buy it day one if it did. Plus I am a piano player and Imagine is one main reason I want this game.
@Slash_out look i play guitar hero and rock band and they are brilliant games. but i also play drums and bass guitar in real life. when people are telling you to play the real instrument and not spend all of your time on a game they are right. i have known people that think they can play guitar because they play guitar hero! and dude playing the game on pro mode is no where near as real to actually playing the real instrument! im in a band so trust me try out the real instruments its awesome to live out what you are playing in a the game
the game just keeps sounding better and better. excellent setlist, excellent gameplay, pro mode sounds epic, and the graphics look amazing! superhyped for this game!
Why are people even saying "Buy an instrument instead of the game"? When you play street racing games, do people say "go buy a car to street race rather than play"? When you play a Flying simualtion do people say "go take flying lessons instead"? Do people say go play football in a club in real life instead of purchasing Fifa/maden? Seriously people. When you get Rock band you look for a game, and in this case you just have an added realism to the play style but in the end it's still a game, you do not need lessons, it's not an imposition on your life. You get the game to have some fun and play with friends. If you wish to, you can try out for the pro mode, which is still a game but more complicated. You can play the game and do music, or one without the other... One doesn't prevent enjoying the other.
@macaque12 People here know that! This is a game! If you're a Music game hater why are you even here posting comments and watching this video? I'm a drummer and singer myself but i love these kinds of games!
Have anyone one realize that the guitar and bass have no strap? that...make the all good visual abit...er....negative feeling to me...:(
@someGAMEcream It also helps the game because of the fact that "Imagine" is in it. Thats a big reason I'm getting it. Also for the piano. (Hoping for The Beatles Rock Band 2) Nice picture BTW
@TheAntiFacebook - You must be either extremly high saying rb3 is going to fail, or you're just plain stupid. This game looks amazing. I dont care for Whitesnake that much, but that moment from :30-35 looked so well crafted. The designers did an amazing job. This is going to be awesome.
Holy crap! Is Casey Malone wearing a "Guild of Calamitus Intent" shirt from Venture Brothers???? Go Team Venture!
Finally, Quickplay became about 90% of my play on RB2 after the main goals of World Tour was over, so I'm really glad to see the band progress without the restrictive tour mode.
My only issue with the game is that they're recycling waaaay too many character animations for the guitarists and bassists.
