With great gameplay, a great soundtrack, and a ever expanding music store, Rock Band 2 will entertain you for years.

User Rating: 9.5 | Rock Band 2 PS3
Ahh, the ever-popular Rock Band series... Rock Band 2 is the sequel to Rock Band. Obviously, Rock Band inherits a lot of traits from Guitar Hero. In this review, I will look at Rock Band 2's Gameplay, soundtrack (necessary for rhythm games), features, and as a seperate review, presentation, as in graphics and art.

Gameplay: If you have played any plastic controller based video game, you've played them all. This game is fun, but it did not pioneer the whole genre, nor the concept of using a plastic guitar to play popular rock hits so you can humor girlfriend's skills at the game as an excuse to compliment her. So, if your looking for differences in gameplay, Guitar Hero is the way. Gameplay gets an average.

Soundtrack: Let me just start by saying, the soundtrack is amazing. But, that's not really a matter of fact so if your not into the whole rock music genre, there is still hope. This game has a very wide variety of music for everybody. Hey, it even has some death speed screamo metal. So soundtrack is a perfect 10!

Features: This game includes Quickplay, so you can jump right into a song or create a playlist. There is solo quickplay, or band quickplay, offline and online. Then there are the competitive game types: Score Duel and Tug of War. Score Duel is identical to pro-face off in Guitar Hero. For those who don't know what that is, it's where you and somebody else can duel without failing.
Tug of War is the same but notes are divided in half for both players.

Presentation: There isn't much to say. It's basically the same as Rock Band. But the characters are very creative and imaginative. They all fit themselves into almost every music genre, which I find very user-friendly.
