If you like big robots at all, don't let this one slip by.

I like the old Godzilla movies. I feel uneasy around very large objects (some sort of phobia about being essentially helpless if disaster struck). I also have a healthy fear of heights. I also think that these odd qualities endear me to this game intensely.

As mentioned in the Gamespot review, one does get an unprecedented appreciation for the sense of scale of the mechs. I'd dare say that its ability to convey a staggering sense scale is rivaled only by that of the terrific "Shadow Of The Colossus". Of course, S.O.T.C. didn't allow for the colossus to battle each other so in a sense this game surpasses it in that specific regard.

There are parts of the game that are under polished but it gets the most important stuff right...dead right. From the sense of inertia in the robot's arms when they swing them, to the textures of the robots and the color palette of the game allowing for realistic shading and 3D, this game does a lot of things right. This game can only be compared to Armored Core and other mech games in theme and spirit. No other mech game touches this one for attempting to make mechs seem "real".

A video game is important to me when it does something unprecedented and it does it well. For this reason alone I think this game belongs in the collection of anyone with the slightest interest in the subject matter.
