A unique standalone to the Robocop series- much like the third movie. You can now fix Robocop's wounds inbetween levels.

User Rating: 7.3 | RoboCop 3 NES
In Robocop 3, like the original Robocop you are informed at the beginning of each level where you are and what you are doing, in traditional scrolling green Robocop text.

Once the level begins, you side-scroll through various cities firing away at the "Splatterpunks" of Robocop 3's film "fame", and OCP's hired hands.

The game progresses similar to the movie's playout, though that isn't saying much (the third film was, like the second directed by someone other than Paul Verhoeven, and starred a different actor as Robocop, only saving two original actors. It also had a lower MPAA rating and featured less spaghetti-western aspects) though fans of the Robocop series will enjoy the new ability to take the place of Jill Hennessy's character in the Robocop 3 film, repairing Robocop's wounds inbetween levels using P icons found throughout.

Unfortunately, the game's difficulty does infringe at times on the enjoyment of it. Continuing after death leaves you with the same "Efficiency" (life) as before you died.

The power-ups fit the third movie, his weapon attachments are the same as would be expected from the third movie (three-way fire, rapid fire, rocket launcher), just as the original, and best Robocop game (on NES and GB) included the Cobra Assault Cannon and Machine Gun.

It is a very different game from the others in the series, but still a very enjoyable one to avid Roboocop fans.
If you can find it at a reasonable price, I recommend purchasing it.

Blessed Be
