Chris Cornell is screaming.. he is screaming!! Why? What has been going on in my ps2 for 10 yrs?

User Rating: 8.5 | Road Rash PS
Chris Cornell is screaming because he is alive in the Super Unknown. He is also screaming because the fire around the motorcycle has exploded into a chain rapping around the mighty logo that is: ROAD RASH.
I found road rash years ago on my Sega Genesis system. It was highly addictive then, even with the cheesy music. Then Sega CD came along, and I discovered this band "Soundgarden" with the release of Road Rash for the Sega CD (may have been road rash 3d.. I think that was for N64 or something though.. )
Imagine the tears welling in my eyes when I stumbled across this port for the PS1 in my local game shop, having just purchased a ps2 not a week before. My hands couldn't grab up this little hottie fast enough.
Nostalgia wise, it's a 10. Takes my right back to the Sega Genesis and the days when Grunge was something new, not merely the background music for every commercial with a "tween" demographic.
The graphics are obviously a little spongy.. well ok they are pretty awful, but the game play more than makes up for it. As others have said before, nothing beats an illegal motorcycle race down busy streets with a length of steel pipe and a chain as your "tools of persuasion". It's just good old fashioned fun.
Now the best part - yes the cutscenes. Shot in glorious pink and blue, these are true gems of late 80's "lets do it ourselves" cinema! Oh, when computer programmers decide that if they put on leather jackets they might look like bikers.. oh the glorious pain! And the shampoo girl.. well I don't want to spoil everything.
You know, I just realized I could be playing this instead of talking about it.
If you ever caught the Rash, it's worth another flare up.
