These bunny gamestop commericals need to end. The first one was funny, the second one wasn't because they didn't do anything new with it so it wasn't surprising, now they're just annoying. Also in this trailor they're playing epic music to scenes of people standing around and farming to begin with. Not that impressed so far, if you can't even figure out how to tailor your trailer to the music you chose how can you make a great game?
Looks ok, but this trailer doesn't really show a whole lot. Might wait a bit for reviews before committing to buy
Animations are clearly from Gothic 3(spells, sword swing, civs sweeping...etc), hopefully they worked on the engine since then. I'll look forward to this game if it is far more stable than Gothic 3.
looks like fable 2 and sacred 2 were playing chicken and neither of them turned, lol thats a stupid thing to imagine but funny at the same time. it may be a great game or it may be just another RPG with minimal items and lots of space for you to waste time running across *cough* oblivion *cough* or maybe no maps and no items but lots of stupid things to do *cough* fable 2 *cough* you get the picture
That trailor music is one of the best I ever heard, that double kick really gets your blood moving. Games looks good to :)

@promba1995 You realize that's not a mmorpg, but just a rpg.. But yeh the graphics are following the gothic theme.. which is good imo.. ------------------- It sure is better than Gothic 3 from what I read.. No crashes, wherelse gothic 3 crashed even when they sent it in to be reviewed by magazines, didn't install etc.. It remains to be seen how good this is.. Hope they haven't messed with the control on the PC version, because of the consoles... Gothic 1 was imo one of the best rpgs.. hope there are some de javu moments in Risen..
yep, the graphics are worst than oblivion's (apparently). Anyway, its worth a try! And, to the people that never payed for any game since 1995, thanks a lot :( ! Its your fault that all developers are giving more attention to consoles and forgetting the good-old PC. If you want to test it, download a demo. Game-piracy sucks!
I've read 3 reviews for this game and seen the score of a 4th and they were; 8/10, 8/10, 8/10 and 84% which is pretty darn good
i disagree with you joe_elwick, my computer has 2 years and all the games are working awesome, i did not spent any money on my computer in 2 years and if i will upgrade it i will do it not just for games or movies or s*****y programs but for a full package....but i agree that it isn't worth spending money on graphic cards or cpu if you only want to play or watch a movie better buy a ps3 or xbox or something........and the graphics are good for a real rpg (because if it is made by Piranha this is a real rpg), but i think it will get a max 8 because not all of us will like a big world with little things to do
You cannot be too suprised the graphics are not top notch when it is a general release on pc and consoles! this is the problem these days..alot of games that used to be pc only are now getting preferential treatment for the consoles...makes you ask yourself..was it worth spending all that hard earned cash on the latest cpu and graphics card or sli set-up??? not really!!
Excellent trailer! And I know all the graphic whores are going to complain about the graphics - but the days of having to upgrade PC's every 18 months is over. Current consoles are getting omn for 5 years old, so the pressure is off the PC at the moment! When you look at the biggest selling games, do they have fantastic graphics like Crysis - or medium graphics like The Sims and WoW?! And which sells? So bring on medium level graphics - it's the gameplay that counts! Risen will be the only true RPG released this year - if you call yourself a PC RPG'er, you have to get this game!!!
By the look of things, standard fantasy fare. But who knows, might be something worthwhile. Am willing to give it a shot. *shrug*
still afraid the 360 graphics will not be up to standard. too bad my pc can't take heavy games anymore.
I was disappointed by Gothic 3 hopefully this one will be better I can`t see much of a difference in combat though and the evil tyranny setting is so overused but we must have hope, best case scenario it redeems everything wrong wit the Gothic series, worst case scenario its gothic 3 with prettier graphics and I disagree with rafael987654 entirely those graphics look pretty sweet to me. Cross your fingers!!!
Ok, at first i was remotely intrigued having been disappointed by many game makers as of late. I then saw Deep Silver producing it. These guys absolutely rock. The did Stalker 1 and 2. One of the the most in depth, story driven, realistic games I've ever played. I worship game makers that focus on fun first and formost. Deep Silver is one of the few game makers ( and now producers, apparently) that completely encapsulates this concept. THE GAME MUST BE FUN REGARDLESS OF ANYTHING ELSE. They also dont try to 'dumb' thier games down for the younger demographics. If you hesitate like me, then rest assured, your in good hands with Deep Silvers's backing -- I love you, man!

Great use of Nightwish's last opening track I must say :) Risen (so far) looks a little bit "two worlds" in my opinion. I'm going to wait until there's more facts available before I speculate any further. But (as with any "promising" fantasy rpg, this HAS got my attention
How the hell can you compare two games that havent been released yet. Stop being a hype nerd and look beyond the surface. Go play Gothic 1 and 2 and then talk crap about PB. As for Dragon Age we shall see how it fares when it's out. I hope both games will be great. We need quality games!
i don't expect anything from this game... it isn't even promising. its graphics are very bad in my opinion.

one month within release date and still no actual ingame footage, what does tell you? this game will get slaughtered in this holiday season by Dragon Age so why not just push it back to like Jan 2010
it indeed looks a lot like Gothic 3 and i think that's probably what we can expect but Gothic 3 wasn't that bad so i might order this game and play it till Dragon Age comes out :p
@mithrixx- Possible, but unlikely. Great graphics and great music only take a game so far before you leave it out of frustration for poor gameplay, or broken controls (fighting a wolf vs. fighting an army of orcs in G3 comes to mind). I enjoyed the gothic series very much... but the video doesn't really show anything I'd call an 'improvement' over the gameplay/combat - something I'm sure a lot of us would like to see done correctly. Still, it's a game I'm looking forward to trying out at the very least!
@ pai-may More like a Gothic clone. Or maybe that should be a Gothic port since it's the same developers as Gothic. In either case, better start over-clocking your video cards now (if you're getting for PC); the lag-monster approaches.
I'd rather cut out my ears than listen to Shightwish again. What a terrible looking Oblivion clone.
