First of all Risen is not Gothic 3, at all. So if your looking for a more polished, bug free, and well organized version of Gothic 3 you will not find it here. Instead the game returns to its founding qualties that made us fall in love with the Gothic series. The game is challenaging, sucks you in, and in all is a true hardcore RPG. The story is interesting and I for one love the combat system, it is a combination of personal skill and your characters overall level. Risen returns to the harsh and unforgiving gameplay the orginal Gothic games introduced, meaning exploring can be profitable and more than likely deadly, causing you load often. Again the factions are anything but easy to rise the ranks in, giving you a great feeling of accomplishment once you finally do get some decent armor and training, you finally feel like a somebody rather than a helpless bystander. Given the hardwork this game is very rewarding and challenging. Its good to have PB back.
