i could not get mine to work, but it's one of the gamestop knock offs so that may be the reason.

i tried using my usb 360 controller which works on Trine and COD:WAW and some other games, but it won't work on Risen, no option to select to GamePad either in the game.

No native gamepad support is annoying, but you can always download Xpadder and map it out yourself.

Why in the world would anyone ever want to use an awful gamepad? keyboard and mouse is the only way to play.

because its nice to play from a comfy couch on a nice HD-TV. I dont see how anybody could prefer sitting bent over a keayboard in front of a monitor. I blame ignorance.
And dont tell me i should get the xbox version. I will most likely get it, but i would prefer a better looking and cheaper pc game with gamepad controlls.

i like your thinking mird99
there's way too many pc gaming freeks that are against playing on control pads.
i will never understand them.

I'm still curious as to what a "K&B" is .....

Jeez have people not heard of a wireless keyboard and mouse ??,you can still sit at ya TV AND play the Game the way its meant to be played on a PC.But why anyone would want to play on there TV with a PC is beyond me,Buy a big 22"+ monitor a big comfy leather office chair with recline lean back place feet on desk with a can of beer within small wrist movement and ENJOYYYY.

Sure I have a wireless keyboard.. wireless mouse.. TBH I think this game plays fairly well with a gamepad too though.
The thing is that it's downright unacceptable that a game that is simultaneously released on the Xbox 360 and PC doesn't have 360 controller support on the PC version. I mean how blindsighted can a company be ???
Anyway... there's an easy workaround. Download 'Pinnacle Game Profiler' and get the 'Risen' game profile (which will be uploaded by a user within a few days, or you could be the first and upload it yourself) and you'll be able to play it just like you can on the actual Xbox 360.

Why get angsty that someone wants to use a gamepad rather than a K&M?
I like my gamepad for certain games - GTA and Saint's Row especially - but I also use k&m for other games .... so?

What's weird is the game has the "Games For WIndows" thing at the top of the cover. 360 controller should work, but it don't.
In my mind, I think any PC game that is First Person, needs to have gamepad support.
If it's RTS, like C&C, then K&M is perfect for it.

Because I have a 54 inch LCD. Would that not be a good reason?? I'm really asking, because I'm planning on getting a PC and plan on using my TV.

I played to hours, sometimes 12+ at a time.
But can I use the LCD TV with my PC and have it diplay just like a monitor, right?

Well not the same most TV's will go upto 1440x900 in VGA mode or 1080p in HD mode, but it should still look great at those 2 resolutions, what i meant was your eyes and head move ALOT more looking at a big TV,you possible wont notice it at first but after a while you will,if your a young lad then you could be OK ,but me I'm a 42yr old fossil and feel the pain of years of gaming abuse lol.
