Despite being a little rough and unpolished, Rise of the Argonauts is one of the best action RPGs consoles can offer

Sometimes I think reviewers are on something when they review certain games. I can understand not liking a game, but saying it's average because there's too little fighting and too much talking...? Hello? This is a western RPG, of course there's more talking involved than fighting. I think the guy who reviewed this thought he was playing a God of War clone and was pissed because he had to sit through a lot of dialogue. I guess he skipped most of it too, since he says the writing is pitiful and voice acting is bad. Hello?? This game is voiced by the same people who voiced KOTOR and Jade Empire and I see no difference between those games' voice quality and this one. Hell, this game even has the actor who played the Colonel in the Metal Gear Solid series!!

Also, the script is great, with so many well written lines and deep, thought-inducing phylosophical considerations (maybe too deep for some reviewers, I guess). The characters are all great, there isn't a single annoying character throughout the whole game (the same can't be said for some bigger productions). If anything the combat itself is a bit dull at the beginning, (but quickly gets better as you gain new powers) and the whole production could have used some more polish (some animation issues and a few bugs that should have been addressed), but I can't find any major flaw that justifies the reception this game had.

If you're looking for a no brainer hack-em-up go play Ninja gaiden or something like that, cause you'll hate this RPG, but if you like the KOTOR/MASS EFFECT/JADE EMPIRE dialogue mechanic and would like to get involved in a deep, beautiful story with great characters and good real time combat, do yourself a favor and buy this game, you won't regret it.
