Just getting back into mmo took a few years off. Was thinking of this game or waiting for elderscrolls or defiance. was wondering how this game was and how hard is it to find guilds willing to take on newbs.

Newb friendly guilds are common.
I liked this game a lot, but just found other things more interesting after Storm Legion dropped.

Try Rift lite first, there are lots of guilds that would like to see you in their ranks.
