i'm actually surprised at how good this game looks, always loved ridge racer and this looks just as good as the ps2 if not better.

We talk to the director of Ridge Racer 3D, Masamichi Yamazaki, about what's new for this long-running franchise now in brilliant 3D!
@ambridget did they agree a launch price for the NGP? they havent even got a name for it yet have they? :)
@ambridget Come to think of it, i was a little harsh to go for nintendo on this one, as there are some titles that stand out (no pun intended) but the ridgeracer series has a long history and the graphics on this version seem outdated compared to other titles. perhaps NAMCO need to sort it out a bit more :)
this actually looks ok! it compares to a VERY well made playstation1 game. if i'm a little bold, i could say it even could be on the PSP and the graphics would still be no shame.
Didn't get to play on this at the recent nintendo event. But if Namco have ANY sense they will release a Full featured Soul calibur game and an Ace combat game on the 3DS, Ace combat would work wonderfully on the machine.
Ive been with you since my 64 days. Ridge Racer, how i love you so :) Only you and MGS have give me 22 years of satisfaction. I delight to see you in all your 3D glory!
I'm happy that even Nintendo fans are starting to demand more from their company...Nintendo always have great ideas but don't follow through as far as technology(In terms of power only). I like the 3DS though, so the people trying to diss the system? Don't get mad at me when I'm playing N64 classics like Zelda, or new titles like SSFIV or Resident Evil because the 3DS graphics are not that far from the NPG(Which I'm also considering). I'll say this one last thing about Nintendo, they better put more funding into their next console...that's it, not trying to imply anything else, please don't hurt me lol
Ninbackwords is always behind. First the Wii is a joke that it only does 480p. Games in HD look great even in 720p yet the Wii they look terrible on my HDTV. As for the 3DS the graphics look dated and low resolution compaired to the NGP. I stick with Sony products which actually are next generation.
@LeMeAtOm Let's not forget there's a $250 price tag on the 3DS and a $300-350 price tag on the NGP...
I was a little excited about the 3DS, but now it just fails to grab my attention since the NGP was anounced. 3D or no 3D theres just no excuse for graphics quality like this now, handheld or not. and with a price tag that doesnt adjust comparatively, when will Nintendo ever evolve beyond the gimmicks :/
What? The graphics look better on the PSP! I thought the graphics were supposed to be better than a PSP.
besides the 3d i feel like the 3ds suffers graphically from the low-res screen. when compared to a high res screen of psp and a high res screen of psp2 coming out it really needs one..the graphics for 3ds are great a huge step up from the ds, its basically like playing a portable wii as you can see with some games, but with others i dont feel that. this game being one of the them..i feel like if they really pushed on the DS they couldve gotten close to the graphics we are seing. its too bad i think its mostly because of the low res, if it was high res it wouldve made sucha big difference..but this game looks fun.
Looks more ridgeracerish than the other RR they announced for PS3 and 360. But it seems as if they're re-using some courses from RR6 and RR7.
