When people talk about video games as an "art-form," Rez is an outstandin example.

User Rating: 8.7 | Rez PS2
Where can one begin to describe Rez? Graphics, as wild and imaginary as the first time you saw a Behind the Minds Eye video. The sound, mind-blowing. The gameplay, unlike anything you have ever played before. This game came out of left feild for me. At the time, I was on a strict RPG diet and no one, save the hand of god could pull me away. Perhaps that's what happened. Because when I saw this game on the shelf of my local Gamestop, something told me to get it. And I did.

And when I got home and popped this little masterpeice into my PS2, I was hooked. I played for several days straight, or shall I say, several nights straight. Absorbing everything this game was. Often times, I felt as though something was missing, some substance. Substance as in gameplay or otherwise, I wasn't sure. This shooter/music-generator game is the kind of thing that comes from your deepest slumbering dream to the height of your imagination. In the words of the only Tommy Chong:
"Wow, man, that's far out."
It's only a shame that this has become an elusive title due to it's almost cult popularity. I seemed to have lost it recently. I can only hope for a sequel on a newer console, perhaps the 360.
