Rez HD is a very awsome and creative gameplay as you shoot down enemies to create beats along with the techno music involved. Even though the game is short its creativity of the verteral world will bring an impact on your arcade playing experience on shooters. Explore 4 stages of this cyber world resembling mostly egypt archetecture and other famous symbols and use of many different neon colors for the enviroment. Dont forget to unlock the 5th stage on your way after unlocking the 4th one which is a great challenge to look forward to beat the game and to find out who you are and why you were downloaded into a new world full of vicious cybernetic enemies to take down.
GAMEPLAY: The controlls are very easy to figure out and makes this game a pure shoot-em-up type game. Your objective is to blast your way through cybernetic enemies until you find a small glowing box that will bring you into the next level of the world. Once you reach the 10th level you will come across a boss level which you must defeat in order to blast into the next level. The boss battles is very creative in each way to specifically fit with the enviroment but the thing that doesnt make sense is that the boss may look like a computer firewall but the smaller enemies you fight resemble ships or animals. Your character starts off as a computer desinged human as you level up you begin to look like an embryo but be careful because once you are hit by a missle then you have to gain all 7 blue cubes to level back up again otherwise its gameover once you level down all the way to 0. The controlls may get boring after awhile because they are so simple. You aim and hold down the A button to scroll along the enemies as you automatically shoot. You will come across an overdrive which is like a massive bomb taking everything out making life a little easier.
Sound/Music: The creator has done an impressive job with the techno beats and singularity for the game and really makes it fun to play having it fit for the neon enviroment.
OVERALL: Gameplay, controlls,sound/music really put together a masterpeice of arcade shooters and for those who really like techno and dance would really apperciate playing Rez HD and for fans that are dying to play it again on a better system no need to be excited anymore because its available for $10 in the Xbox Arcade store. The only bad that comes from it is that the music can become old and the game might be boring with having to aim, scroll, and hold A through all 5 levels, but if it wasnt for the creativity involved then Rez would have been a total letdown.
