- Feb 10, 2008 7:39 am GMTOK, there's some topics that get repeated a LOT, and I'm hoping to help curb those with this topic
Q: I finished areas 1-4, but area 5 didn't unlock! Help!
A: You need to get 100% analyzation on all 4 areas. To get 100% analyzation, you need to shoot every password protector that shows up, and then shoot the network opening (cube) 8 times to go to the next layer level. It's pretty hard to miss these, if you pay attention you should get them all no problem. You should be on layer level 10 before the boss if you did it right.
Q: I need help getting 95% shot down in area 5!
A: Well, there's really not much you can do aside from practice. This video shows someone getting 100% analyzation, shot down, and support on area 5, so if you watch it you might figure out some new strategies for enemies or parts of the area that can net you the extra percentage you need: http://video.google.com/videoplay?docid=-435065682899786051
Q: I just beat Direct Assault, but it didn't give me the achievement! Help!
A: Notice the achievement says to beat Direct Assault (Trance)? You just beat Direct Assault (Normal). Keep beating Direct Assault and after you're 5th time through, you'll unlock Direct Assault (Trance).
Q: What's the point of Trance Mission? Does it ever end? How long do I have to play to get the achievement?
A: Let's start off with the most important one: Trance Mission is not Direct Assault (Trance). (And yes, I've seen people make that mistake before.) Trance Mission is a never-ending level that's just for fun. You don't ever have to play it but you might find it interesting.
Q: Can I just leave the game on for 10 hours to get the Rezident achievement?
A: No, you have to actually be playing the game, in either Play mode, Traveling mode, Score Attack mode, Direct Assault mode, Lost Area, Trance Mission, or Boss Rush mode. (Yes, you could just leave Trance Mission on for 10 hours, but it's much more fun to actually play the game. Plus if you're going for all the achievements and unlockables, that'll take you more than 10 hours anyways.)
Q: I can't for the life of me get a high score, even with 100% analyzation, shot down, and support! What am I doing wrong?
A: You're not shooting the enemies with high enough combos. The more enemies you lock on to at one time, the more points you'll get for killing them all. Also, in Score Attack mode, enemies will tend to fire missiles at you a lot more, so if you hold of on killing enemies, you can hit those missiles for extra points. Also, at the boss, try not to hit the core if you can help it, because the core isn't worth any points, while all the other stuff you can hit generally is worth points. However, make sure you kill the boss before it self-destructs, or else you won't get the bonus for killing the boss. If you get over 98% shot down, you'll fight the Tera form of the boss, which is worth a whopping 20,000 points for killing it. Under 90% will get you the Mega form, which, although I've never personally gotten it, I'm guessing is worth either 5,000 points, or absolutely nothing. The Giga form (between 90% and 98%) with net you 10,000 points. And one last thing, there are some enemies with multiple parts, if you kill all the parts then you'll get a pretty hefty bonus. (Enemies that spring to mind are the dragon-type things in area 3, and those big things that shoot out those little jumping purple things in area 4, and even the red panels that shoot out fish while fighting Venus.)

Exciter you should put this in a txt and submit it to GF as a mini FAQ - Feb 10, 2008 8:20 am GMTIt would probably be more effective as a sticky here on the forum. People tend to open new topics on the forum sooner than looking at the FAQs.
Good job on the FAQ by the way.

- Feb 11, 2008 6:41 am GMTI'd also like to point out that Overdrive Infinity makes Trance Hacker much easier to get. Map your overdrive button to something you won't mind tapping for an hour, and then keep firing overdrives until you get the achievement. You might get The Rezident while you're doing it, too.

You can get hit and use overdrives, but you have to get all the items

http://www.mygamercard.net/clboard.php?id=tdgrlVsz - LUE´s 360 Leaderboard - Feb 24, 2008 9:42 pm GMTI have a question, when it says 100% shot down, does that include the power ups for with 100%? Thanks.

...And I knew that whenever I got there he would be there. Out there up ahead. Then I woke up.
GT: No Coun7ry
- Feb 26, 2008 7:37 pm GMTNope, the powerups count towards your support percentage
Also, some enemies will shoot missiles and stuff but those don't count towards the shot down percentage so you don't have to worry too much about those

- Mar 6, 2008 7:35 am GMT......Spoiler Related Questions.........Please don't read if you haven't finished the game!!!!!!!!!
I have some questions that I didn't see answered here I apologize in advance if they have been answered somewhere else.
1) When I finish Stage 5 I get a really short ending and it says something to the effect of "She is still trapped in the system" or something like that. I'm by no means kicking the hell out of the game but I'm not doing terrible either. Is there multiple endings to this game? How do you get different endings.
2) I don't really know when I first noticed it but I'm certain now that the bosses at least are harder in the standard game. For example the boss for the first level near the end of his life puts out 2 green orbital bands instead of one. Also I swear that the Mars Boss launches walls at me much faster then it used to. Does anyone know anything about this why the bosses are getting harder?
With out a doubt this is one of the best games I have ever played, I remember downloading it on a whim and putting it in my dreamcast It's such good news that they released it for XBOX live.
Thx in advance for any insite offered. - Mar 6, 2008 2:13 pm GMT1) When I finish Stage 5 I get a really short ending and it says something to the effect of "She is still trapped in the system" or something like that. Worst ending - Finish the game in form 0-5
Bad ending - Finish the game in Final form
Good ending - Finish the game in Final form with 98% shot down (not certain about that percentage but it definitely has to do with your shot down percentage)
Best ending - Finish the game in Final form with 100% shot down

If you get under 90% shot down, you fight the Mega form, which is the easiest form
If you get between 90% and 98% shot down, you fight the Giga form, which is the normal form
If you get over 98% shot down, you fight the Tera form, which is the hardest form

That answered my questions perfectly. I guess I'm not doing very well on the final boss at all, time to step up my game
Thx again. - Mar 18, 2008 3:04 pm GMTWill I get the Trance achievement if I play with Final Form or whatever? Or do I have to play it with the first form?
