Searching through the net I came upon Wolfenstein which would eventually become one of the best FPS I would ever play online. The best thing about this game is that it is free. Free sounds crazy but this game, well at least the multiplayer part called enemy territory is. I recommend every try it once because they have little to loose as it is free. The gameplay is fun because it is so varied. There dozens of weapons which control differently from each other. There is your mortar if you want to get those kills from far away or the knife if you want to get close. But the gem to use in many levels is the flamethrower which is a thrill to use. But the main point is the killing is fun. No matter if your using the mortar or the MP40 if your axis. The gameplay has enough weapons to keep you entertained. But why have I pulled more then 300 hours in Enemy territory? The Xp system keeps you coming back for more. Your Xp on most servers is saved and you have various skills that can be filled to 4 stars. Every class gets upgraded as you play them more until they hit 4 starts. This is a nice add on as games like Call of Duty cant me interested enough to play them for a extended time. The Xp system is both innovative and interesting to see. The diversity of maps is always growing as more and more people create their own maps and start servers. Overall the gameplay wont get boring quickly. For the release date for this game the graphics where very good. Well today they can’t compete with Quake 4 or Call of Duty 2 but they’re still playable and decent. Some of the uniforms could use a graphic upgrade as they generally lack detail and most of them are poorly researched. But then again one must remind himself that where getting this game free. Some level have horrible water animations and bland environment detail. But again nothing to complain about and its playable. So in this area it does ok but nothing you’ll be amazed at. The sounds in this game from the water to the guns are quite realistic. But the sound varies form server to server many times. Depending on how good the map is designed or what sound pack the administrator is using for the guns will determine the quality of the sound. But from the servers I have played there pretty well down. So its quite average here and it wont ever distract from the killing. Again it varies so this is an average score.
The value is huge in this multiplayer only game. Although there is a small amount of modes to pick on the servers the XP system keeps things interesting. What saves this game from being been there done that like Call of Duty 2s multiplayer is again the Xp system which I cannot stop praising for finally binding a RPG like attribute to a FPS game. The endless amount of friends and even enemies you’ll make while playing this game can be truly un ending and so making some friend son the way is part of the game and keeps you coming back and trying out new rivalries. Those the difficulty level is notable. Beginners will be continuously slaughtered by intermediate players. Expert players won’t even let beginners get close to them and they will also make even quicker work of them. It’s hard starting off but as you get better and train the value also increases. With all said and done this game is very, very, very and again very good for being free. We as gamers have gotten a gem which happens to be free given to us. It’s a great game that nay with an interest in FPS games or World War 2 should check out. Or even if you’re not sure download it and play it. If you don’t like it uninstall it. If you do like it get ready for many sleepless nights and late homework assignments because you’ve just started a long addiction to Wolfenstein
