Considering it's free, it's really quite amazing that it can compete with commercial games to this day.

If you have a PC, a good internet connection and at least $0 to hand, this is a game you should invest in. If you don't, invest in a good internet connection a PC and then get this game. As FPS Multiplayers stand, they all seem to be quite generic, especially since the Xbox 360's release, where soon after developers began to think that Deathmatch, Team Deathmatch and Capture the Flag were sufficient to keep interest. Whilst all of these game modes are fun, they grow tiring and leave people wait ing in desperate anticipation for the next Halo to be released. Enemy Territory has mission or objective based game modes (similar to those of Battlefield) and has a great promotional system whereby you can increase your rank by either helping complete the objective, shooting or doing on of your special abilities as a field medic, engineer, sniper and several more. This ranking system gives the player a greater sense of achievement, and allows the lesser experienced to be led to battle by the best. Due to the game being freeware, the servers sometimes can get a little laggy which can deteriorate gameplay slightly, but the better your internet, the less this problem should affect you. The sounds are quite good quality, as are the graphics, although sometimes in slower servers settings should be lowered to improve the gameplay experience. Although there are many other games out in shops that are set in WW2 and follow the Axis vs. Allies regime, enemy territory still remains one of the best thanks to it's original and fresh gameplay. As a freeware game, it's the easiest Multiplayer game to recommend to FPS fans and should hopefully inspire game developers to vary gameplay slightly more.
