I've played all three Resistance games and this is definitely an improvement over R2. However, in terms of originality, R1 bests R3 slightly. "Fall of Man" had quite the intriguing story line with the British voice-over and the manner in which the telling of the story unfolded. It's a more of a mystery. Who was this Nathan Hale? Anyway, very glad that R3 came back to that type of story telling with Joe Capelli. All three games are great first person shooters, even when R2 went with the more "realistic" limited guns, but that was it's biggest downfall. With R3 returning to having all the guns (eventually) in your arsenal, you get the fun of the original back. R3 does crank up the spookiness factor by throwing a Half Life 2 "Ravenholm" -like segment into the mix. Much enjoyed! R3 improves upon graphics and gameplay and is a very solid, very good game.
