Chimera and warp holes....

User Rating: 9.5 | Resistance 3 PS3
Four years after the release, we arrived at the third part in the Resistance franchise, which we will again take on the Chimera. The first part was a great game and the second was mainly a game that the continued success embroidered. Resistance 3 is a title here and there to be quite different and the first impression with the preview version was pretty positive. So it was cheering when the full game arrived. We pushed the disc into the PlayStation 3 and began a new adventure.

In this third part gives you control of Joseph Capelli. This guy lives for several years underground in southern North America with a group of inmates. He has declared the fight against the Chimera, and still hopes to grow old in the underground world. Resistance Resistance but would not if he headfirst back into the fight with the Chimera would end. The game starts too quiet, where you walk around a bit in the underground corridors. You get some weapons to practice and there appears shortly after an army of Chimera to approach the city, including where you live.

What begins with a quiet observation mission to not attract attention of the Chimera, is rapidly getting out of a fierce battle. Within fifteen minutes after starting the game you're hard at fighting the Chimera and several other large enemies that only one goal and that is destroying mankind. After having successfully averted the attack is suddenly a familiar face in front of you. This is Professor Malikov, and he tries to persuade you to go to New York. Capelli here has no appetite and poor professor there by himself for.

Yet you know your wife and shortly afterwards to persuade you to decide to go to New York Malikov. This is not without reason, since New York is a huge tower that functions as a wormhole into space. This tower also makes sure that the world is slowly but surely turns into a new ice age, which no man can survive. Not so fine prospect and you will go to New York Capelli as to destroy the tower and the Chimera once and for all off. Will that work? Play the game it self but for.

The story in this game there is good and fits well with the story of the previous two sections. Now the story is not an element that prevails, but it should be clear guidance as between levels. While you are on your way to New York you will find in several states and cities, where there is always something you are trying to work against. One moment your ship sinks and the next moment the train you're in the rammed and more consistent. It is not a journey that will take you just, it's more whether it is to survive at all.

The whole game done repeatedly in varied environments. One moment you walk through a dead city back and the next minute you are in a dilapidated prison and again at another time you walk through a snowy New York and destroyed. The variation in the environment is good and the new visual style contributes well to the fearful, but strong atmosphere that the game exudes. Where the first two parts were visually rather static set, Resistance 3 huge gray and rough set. The game is full of delicious details that the current state of America exhibit very clearly.

The violent storms that caused by gigantic Chimera machinery or heavy snowfall also look pretty spectacular. You really feel like in a climate that is not entirely correct, but clearly not caused by a natural element. Another extra point for the strong atmosphere of the game exudes. There is a downside and that is that the game is not visually very strong. Absolutely, it's a beautiful game, but if you go to an upcoming exclusive Uncharted looks like, the latter clearly a higher level and perhaps a little pity.

Nevertheless, we have little else to complain. Yes, it is visually less than other leaders, but despite all his animations and top, it looks fine in terms of variety and setting breathes every time an unknown atmosphere. The same can be said about the audio. The music is varied and sounds fantastic. It is clear that Insomniac has paid much attention to the audio of the game, because every time you hear music that almost can be described as epic, and then there's the quality voice acting, which is also fat and fat in order. There is also a section in the game that just a little more extreme.

The game shows violence even better. The blood flies past your ears and if you at some point with a sledgehammer blow to the enemies, and others may crap to hit it, you get a euphoric feeling of power. You find that so incredibly hard hammer arrives at the enemy that you start to grin. Anyhow the game in terms of violence rougher. Insomniac warned not really gruesome images. So do not look weird in half if you popped apart people is lying. The highlight is even if someone blows his head from horrible, but it is up to you to explore.

Just to revert to the earlier impression that I wrote about the game, I named the game felt very linear and it was hoped that this would be less present in the final game. Now you have the first four hours to deal with people who have opened doors for you, because you simply can not own it. These people are very slow and not very encouraging pace. Also, are you really from A to B without actually running to get free space. But fortunately it is not rocket science. Because as you progress you get more freedom in fighting the enemies, what is so good.

Yet there were moments that depend on computer-controlled characters, such as opening doors and more and they are so slow, that's boring, but it is manageable, so that makes a difference. Another point of criticism is the way you select your weapons. By pressing the button, one wheel on the screen and through your analog stick in the right direction to push select to use the weapon. This does not always work well and that's because sometimes you want a quick change of weapon, but you all too often the weapon that's alongside selected instead of the weapon you have to. Advantage is that the game pauses when you choose your weapon, otherwise it was quite annoying.

Talking about the weapons. The game accommodates both good old all-new weapons, which only can be made by Insomniac. This allows you to tackle enemies in various ways and that results in half on trough undoubtedly other battles. It is also possible for individual weapons to level. As many enemies you kill with a certain weapon, then you will at some point a star. Any weapon can fetch up to three stars, equal to the maximum with a weapon to be gained in terms of possibilities. The action will continue in the game becoming victim, and that's because the weapons by leveling the upgrade itself and by itself it works fine in the game.

Other important new features in the game, the possibilities for the game to play with the PlayStation Move. We just tried this. It takes some getting used to, but once you busy for some time, then you'll also have little difficulty and can not support any shooter PlayStation Move said. We must also not forget cooperative option, because the entire single with two men going through a television and that is perfect for a nice Saturday evening with a beer.

Do not have friends, you can use the game in co-op play online without problems and if you're tired, you know the game the necessary and extensive multiplayer capabilities. There are plenty of modes available, and maps give you a long time to keep playing. Above is very important, it's fun to play multiplayer. But whether it can survive this fall against the other great shooters is still questionable. However, we recommend everyone to check the multiplayer, as we can tell you that you will find it just as cool as the singleplayer us from A to Z managed to captivate.

Insomniac Games Resistance 3 delivers with a great new deal on the franchise. The game exudes atmosphere and the action is great and the new weapons that good again absurd. Visually, the game very strong, but not as strong as Uncharted to name a few. The downside is that the game aural very strong with good voice acting and a wonderful soundtrack. The gameplay itself is action-packed, varied, and above all very entertaining and we must control the functioning PlayStation Move remember, and not the fine co. Are you single sitting then there are hours of fun to do in the multiplayer.
