The first thing that you will notice about this game is the graphics. not only are the graphics high rendered detailed textures and fantastic lighting effects, but they are extremely colourful, with gorgeous environments. Some of the best console graphics as well. It really goes for a cinematic experience. For example, the first level of the game puts the hero of the first one, Nathan Hale, at a base that is being attacked by a humongous mech. The whole level is an epic boss battle. at all times you can see this very detailed goliath towering in the distance and destroying your allies.
The story picks up where the first on leaves off. I must admit the story doesnt really feel like there is much development throughout other than key points where something immense is revealed about the chimera or something along those lines. Mostly you are given the instructions for your mission and you proceed through the level.
The gameplay is also very good. after tweaking the controls a bit i was able to set the controls to be exactly like Call of duty 4, which made gameplay a lot more convenient since the game does play a lot like call of duty. Aiming down the sights plays a much bigger role, and there is a sprint button. Its tonnes of fun using various weapons to blow the chimera to pieces , such as a revolver that shoots explosive rounds that are detonated on your command, and a weapon that shoots spinning blades that dismember your enemies. There are many returning weaps like the far eye, auger, bullseye, but they all are upgraded and look different. the sound for these weapons is also very good. they all have a unique feel and sound. the single player campaign is about 10hours and is very memorable and you will find yourself going through it 2 or 3 times. But wait, that is only one third of the game. there is a competitive multiplayer that allows you to level up and unlock special ablities to carry into battle depending on whether you chose a human or chimera. With 60 player maps as well as 10 player maps, the competitive is very balanced and pretty fun. but wait there is more! there is a co-op mode, that supports 8 players online and i believe 2 offline, that is a completely separate adventure from the single player campaign. you are allowed to chose from 3 classes, specops, soldier and medic. This mode is very long, there are tones of missions that can be very difficult if u dont work as a team. All in all i did not really enjoy this mode because the classes only have a handful of weapons at their disposal until you reach a very high level, and it takes very long to level up.

On the negative side. the game does not feel as unique in terms of level design for the single player campaign as it did for the first one. Also the competitive multi is not up there with the greater games to make you keep playing it for much longer than 10 hours or so.
However the singleplayer is still very good, very cinematic , and very action packed with a good story and a fantastic ending. this game is a must have for those of you who played the first one.
