A welcome relief from RE6 nonsense
There is plenty of backtracking throughout, but I found this more nostalgic than annoying. A cool new scanning device that unearths items keeps the experience feeling fresh, and weapons are upgradeable via collecting hidden 'custom parts' scattered throughout the game.
There are a couple of dumb characters that are introduced into the mix, and although RE has always sported camp and clunky dialogue, these new characters manage to sink to an all new ridiculous level. But still, easily forgiven in my eyes.
All in all, this is a good game. At times it feels a bit thin, but that's to be expected for a game that was originally released for the 3DS. There is still plenty of room for innovation, but this game is a good stop gap for any RE fan looking for an old school buzz.
