Although a short experience, with the trusty aid of a light gun, it's definetely worth checking out.

User Rating: 8.1 | Resident Evil: Dead Aim PS2
Resident Evil Dead Aim is game number four in the "Biohazard Survivor" series (with part 2 only being released in Japan, and part 3 the supposedly terrible Dino Stalker). If you play this game without a light gun, it's pretty much your standard Resident Evil (with the exception of all 3D environments, a camera that follows you, and manual aiming). Lets just say that, if you were a big fan of the first Survivor, you'll probably enjoy this style of game play *cough*. It's if you have a light gun this game REALLY shines. Now, I must explain I used a PS1 Guncon (no directional pad + extra buttons that are on the Guncon 2) and a standard controller at the same time, which worked absolutely perfectly (for me anyways). Essentially it's your standard Resident Evil, BUT NOW you are shooting zombies with and actual gun! (sorta). The fun of manually aiming your gun at the zombies and pulling the trigger is something that will keep you playing through to the end (which unfortunately, comes much too soon, likely would take you 3-5 hours to beat, depending on your survival horror experience). Don't get me wrong, this game isn't all cookies and Kool-Aid. While the zombies may be push-overs for your pistol, its all the other monsters in the game that make quick transitions between shooting in first person and running away in third person somewhat of a chore. Often these creatures are just too quick to shoot, so your best bet is to just avoid them as best you can. This same problem translates over to the boss fights, which often require quick dodges or stealthy movements. You will likely be looking up online how to do almost every boss fight because of the difficulty. In the end, this game is incredibly fun if you have some sort of light gun, but its length makes it hard to recommend a purchess. Your best bet is to rent the game, you'll likely beat it before you get slapped with a late fee.
