I was expecting the red dot gun like with the RE 4 HD. For $20 this is way too much. You can buy the ps2 version for $5 used and I bought RE5 for 10 bucks. They must be banking on the nastalgia factor because this title doesn't merit $20. At the most 1200 microsoft points and thats pushing it.
The "review" at IGN gave this a 5 and compares it to RE 4 and 5 ???....RE 4 came out 5 years after this game and RE 5 came out almost 10 years later ! Of course its not going to be on the same level as those games. How do these guys get jobs reviewing games is a mystery. I played it on Dreamcast and it was really good back then. Anyone considering getting this game better be prepared for some old school controls and graphics. Don't unfairly rip it apart because it doesn't compare to more modern games in the series like the moron at IGN did.
@dahaoleboy69 I think i can see where Ronin893 is comming from with this, capcom have shown before they are perfectly capable of taking an old game and completely over hauling it not just graphically but make it feel like a new game (like resident evil 1's remake on the gamecube) but here they clearly arent bothering, they're going to charge 30 quid for what is basically a game thats been quickly upscaled and smoothed out ... its not really worth the money
@datca number 1 was already remade on the gamrcube,,,not HD but it looks far superior to this
ahh i see so remastered these days doesnt mean resident evil 1 style remastering in which the game is rebuilt from the ground up ,,, it means upscaling and cleaning up some textures... I think I'll pass
I finished this game 8 years ago on the PS2. Can't freakin wait to play it again ! So much memories !
Code Veronica was probably my 2nd favorite Re game behind RE 2. Can't wait! I got RE fever!
I would LOVE to see the RE1 Gamecube remake on XBLA, as well as the same system overhaul to 2-C:V. I would pay full retail price for those, as I feel they would really be worth it. I'm still gonna get this, 'cos it's one of my fav's in the series, but I hope Capcom will suprise the world with GC remake classics. Ah... a guy can only dream!
The graphics could be alot better to be honest, it just looks like a PS2 game but abit smoother looking, the graphics arent better just less blurry then the old if you compare it. But it does seem to play quicker and better
remake HD resi 1, 2 and 3 please. Especially 2 and 3, I already have resident evil remake, but thats for the wii.
@DiscGuru101 I completely agree on an HD remake of the two Gamecube Resident Evil's They would look absolutely stunning in 1080p. Great games, especially Re-make.
Resident Evil 4 will be the real treat. It still holds up real well, and still looks good -- especially in HD. Code Veronica was a great game (back in 2000), but it's very dated now. Anyone remember that stupid boss character on the airplane that you had to shoot the hell out fo with the gas, flame and explosive rounds? He was a pain in the ass to beat, and the fixed camera angles didn't help at all. He kept me from completing the game without saving and getting the infinite rocket launcher. Damn him!
at least I'd expect faster movements, less loading time, and bigger resonance to the sound effects and music.
Well, despite the negative feedbacks, I will go for it for I am fond of RECVX and I'd love to own it on PS3.
disappointed as hell now, was expected HD graphics not the standard PS2 era stuff. Im not usually fussy about it but this is supposed to be a HD remake of an old game....but to me it looks like another repackaged game without any major improvements
So they added some bloom effect and blurred the graphics a bit and call it HD? What the hell... Why does capcom have to own this great series? I wish another company did so the fans could get something... um, NOT crappy and stingy for a change

It's a good thing, well for me anyway as I have yet to play these games and am a huge fan of Resident Evil. But I was too young to buy the games. This will save me a lot of time searching for a brand new copy of the game, and better yet it's in HD :D
What a pile of rubbish! I love resident evil put talk about money for old rope. Capcom should take a look at Bungie's Halo Combat Evolved to see how you remaster a game rather than polishing a turd and expecting people to shell out for the same game all over again. Poor show Capcom, very disappointing from what I can see in this video.
i don't know if i can actually play this game at this time being since it's plain weird at this moment regarding the surrounding environment....but i'll give RE 4 HD a shot
This won't look any better than Veronica X did on the PS2, but it will make it so you can play it on a widescreen HDTV without sacrificing quality.
