Absolutely Amazing. A must-have game for any Resident Evil or action game.

User Rating: 10 | Resident Evil Code: Veronica X GC
There's not a whole lot that can be said. I'm frustrated with people who give lower scores to ports of games, especially Gamespot. They're supposed to be impartial and objective, but they seem to have little respect for the Resident Evil series, and ports in general.

First of all, this is, in fact, a port of a "completed" version of the highly "successful" DreamCast game Resident Evil: Code Veronica.

Now the basic review:

The graphics, though dated today, were pretty good for the time--that is, the DreamCast days. The "completed" version of the game is a port of the DreamCast game with new content. The cut scenes are sharp, relatively refined, and the voice alignment is arguably the second best, only losing to the equally perfect Resident Evil 4.

The sound is perfect. I thoroughly enjoyed every moment of every sound byte that I heard. The casting is fantastic, with Richard Waugh reprising his role as the amazing Albert Wesker and Alyson Court as Claire Redfield. Chris' voice acting has changed a bit, but his voice is spot-on.

The controls haven't changed from the last Resident Evil game. Also, in case you didn't notice, RE4 had the exact controls as EVERY OTHER RESIDENT EVIL GAME--'Tank' controls. The only difference in RE4 is you can aim where your bullets go. RE:CVX's controls are crisp and responsive.

The story in this game is the best stand-alone story in the history of Resident Evil. The story in this game is as good as the graphics and controls in RE4. It's perfect and second only to a few games including Chrono Trigger and Metal Gear: Solid.

Overall, this game is perfect. I can't say how much fun this was. If it's any consolation, there are 3, one is about 2 minutes, one is about 3 minutes, and the final is over 10 minutes, cut scenes involving Albert Wesker beating the crap out of someone. Buy it, play it, love it.
