It's probably the worst in the series, and therefore a step back. But it's not a bad game.

User Rating: 7 | Resident Evil 6 PS3
PROS:
- Story doesn't disappoint
- Leon's campaign has a touch of survival horror in it.
- The gameplay overall is decent
- Some scenes and events are fun to watch
- Graphics are good
- A long game, with good production values, if in the wrong place.

CONS:
- Like everyone else, I was frustrated with the lack of control. Resident evil has come a long way since the remake (the first I played) which barely had any cutscenes (and all were skippable)
- No atmosphere = no horror. The thing is, you can't have horror without atmosphere, and the cutscenes killed any atmosphere. I would say that you can't have Resident Evil without horror but 4 and 5 have already killed my expectations of that. I still don't understand why Capcom is leaning towards an action game rather than survival horror but whatever.. I could get over it but..
- Everyone besides Leon is boring. Chris' campaign is just.. bad.
- It's long, but before long it gets boring. Most cutscenes are pointless. The story is sprinkled around a long game so you lose incentive to go through.

You can't really judge a game for not being the same as the one's before it. But in 5 and 6, Capcom tried to adapt to the new gamers and in the end stumbled in doing so. I don't think RE6 is bad, but it would be much better if Resident Evil just stuck to it's roots.
