Resident Evil 5 is a solid game on its own but doesn't live up to the standards set by Resident Evil 4.

The story takes place in Africa where the main character Chris Redfield meets up with a local and fellow B. S. A. A. ( a paramilitary anti bio weapons organization) member named Sheva who is helping him search for the biological weapons that were made by the now-defunct Umbrella Corporation and have fallen into the hands of a terrorist group in the region.

The game is broken up into three parts per most of the chapters with a total of only six. You can usually get through each part very quickly making the game considerably shorter than one might expect out of a RE game.

Game play wise it is very similar to Resident Evil 4 with some new additions like a forced co-op and a real-time menu system that does not pause the action when you search for items, weapons, and ammo in your inventory.

The co-op game play is mandatory and can be a real pain for anyone playing it solo because Sheva is not very effective at covering you in the heat of battle during the later stages of the game and often gets in your way.

The graphics are outstanding and the various locations are very pleasant to the eyes with a good bit of variety.

The series is well known for having epic boss battles and this entry is no different and does not disappoint in that department.

Resident Evil 5 is a very good game with lots of action and intense moments but suffers from artificial intelligence issues brought about by the co-operative design when playing alone but is a blast to play with a friend.

I would recommend the game to anyone looking for a fast-paced thrill ride because it's fun, action packed, and it answers some long awaited questions from previous games in the series with a satisfactory ending.
