I have tried a couple of other R.E. versions and didn't like them too much, but 4 had me completely hooked. Good and Spooky, great monsters and ideas, cut scenes that weren't just an excuse for me to get up drain the elephant trunk. Unfortunately for ME I rented and didn't get the book so I did no understand about combining the treasures to get more PERS, but got plenty of weapons to do what I needed. Playing ADA's game after completing the main game KICKED A**!! Excellent tie in as a seperate story and giving her different weapons (Bow kicked much posterior) as well as moves. Grappling gun added even more. I haven't had the chance for the other mercenary games, putting off to get the title off Ebay when the rage dies down and the prices drop. The only 'complaints' (minor) were some of the restarts going through the same extended cut scene (there were sections I had to replay a dozen times and that got irritiating -- yeah ok I suck, but I got thru dammit!). Also, the bosses I thought would be a little harder. I also wanted to stick a sock in Ashleys mouth a couple of times with all that 'Leon, Help Me !!!" - I'm on my way dammit, quiet down!! Puzzles were good, thought the 5000PERS maps were a waste of time, found most of them anyway.
