Resident Evil is back and without zombies (GASP!!) but who would've known that this is just what the series needed.

Enter the world of Resident Evil 4. Umbrella is finished after the whole Raccoon City incident. The government has shut em down for good. (Don't worry though you know they'll be back.) You are Leon Kennedy the rookie cop from Resident Evil 2. Apparently you accepted the cushy government job as the President's personal government job. And on the very first day, well his daughter gets kidnapped. After searching around she is reported being seen near an old European village from an unknown source. So this is where the game begins you're in the peaceful old country side just driving along until you come across a bridge. The road is blocked and your 2 policia partners and crime tell you to go check it out while they stay in the car to make sure they don't get any parking tickets. Well to not spoil anything let's just say they'll regret that :). Than all hell breaks loose. All you do is ask some freaky freaky European guy if she has seen this girl and then he decides to attack you with an axe so you go through the typical freeze crap and then you kill him. Now THIS is where the action begins.

Now that you're all pumped up for the game I'm not going to tell you anymore I'm just going to talk about the good stuff. The graphics in Resident Evil 4 are superb. There was talk how this game's graphics would suck out loud compared to the GameCube's but all those were rumors were wrong. You could sit these games side by side and barley even tell one single difference. I challenge you to name 5. The gameplay is really where this game shines. Instead of the hold R1 shoot up straight or down you know have a laser sight and you shoot very well you would please. This makes for a lot of fun as you watch your enemies assorted reactions. The new camera is great and adds for lots of fun. Say goodbye to the cinematic camera views (for now) and say hellow to behind the back. This is a great new addition and many people will agree that it adds to RE4's fresh new experience. Another new feature is well.. let's call it the X factor. You'll now be given certain options such as pushing down ladders, pushing cabnets to block doors, catching the damsel in distress, and even to kick your enemies in the face all at the push of the X button. Than definitly the thing that makes this game so great is the excitement. Sometimes you'll have so many enemies on you at once you can't count them. I couldn't believe my how hard my heart was pumping in the game's first major battle sequence with those countless enemies. Be warned that segment drove me off at first due to it's difficulty. It took me about 8 times to beat it but hey, you HAVE to give this game a chance. I had no idea what I was missing and I flirted with taking this game back. That would've been one of the biggest mistakes of my life. Now be warned. This game is not easy and may be harder for the less experienced and those new to this game. But don't worry you'll get used to it and no time. Now wait let me say this one more time... GIVE THIS GAME A CHANCE!!!
As for the story in this game, it's pretty good. It'll feel good to see some old faces who you can't believe are still around after six years (which it's been since the Raccoon incident.) And to give you a hint of who it is, let's just say sunglasses and a red dress. THAT's ALL I AM SAYING ABOUT THAT!!! The sound in Resident Evil is great and you'll hear plenty of grunts and unnnsss for those of you missing the zombies. The new enemies cry in pain too!!! The A.I. in RE4 is incredibly smart. You try to run for them and they'll run after you or they might throw an axe at you. (that kinda hurts.) For those of you who already have the gamecube version I honestly wouldn't buy it a second time until the price drops. If you have sometime on your hands to rent it and play the main game through so you can play Seperate Ways than it's a welcome idea. The PS2 version has all the extras of the Gamecube plus the Seperate Ways mode which has all the excitement of the main mode. Plus you get to play as a familiar face! The gametime in this game is awesome. It contains over 20 hours of gameplay for the main game PLUS more than 20 for the extras. NOW THAT's VALUE!!!!
Now for those of you looking for the best game of the Resident Evil series and the best game of 2005. This is you game. All it does to you is keep you coming back for more and more. Now what are you waiting for??? Stop reading this review and go BUY THIS GAME!!!!!!!!!!

P.S.: Thank you for reading my review. I greatly apprecitate it. :)
