One of the best games ever made, no contest

Capcom's Resident Evil has fortunatly graced the crevasses of many of my systems over the years, now with Resident Evil 4, my Gamecube has been blessed with this fine new addition to my gaming library. Now where can I start on this game. The gameplay for Resident Evil is top notch, with the newly implemented over the shoulder view, the game gives you a good view of the action but in a way that sets an atmospheric mood, further accentuated when you draw a weapon and aim down the sights. The aiming is also instense as well as realistic as Leon Kennedy (the protagonist) will have a hard time aiming after holding his weapon after some time. The Graphics and Sound further set the mood, as you'll be bombarded by fantastic visuals and the right kind of music for the right kind of situation. Lets just say that I've never been so entertained by exploding heads. Another excelent implementation to the game is that there is never a moment in the game where you should set your controller down, as even the cinematic cutscenes are action packed filled with timed button presses that if not done right, will lead to certain demise. The story though a surprising departure from the zombie ridden halls of the Racoon mountain manor, or the apocalyptic Racoon City itself; this Resident Evil takes you into a village in Spain infested with psycotic Spaniards. But you'll quickly forget of our beloved zombies, after fighting these villagers and the rest of the enemies of the game. The only problem I had with the game was that there wasnt some sort of quick weapon switch mechanic in the game, as I often found myself switching between different guns during intense fire fights. After beating the several times there are several entertaining mini games that can provide you with additional guns for the game. This review doesnt even begin to describe the gaming greatness that is Resident Evil 4, this game quite frankly is the best in the series, one of the best horror/action games ever and easily one of the best games ever made.
