One of the best games I have ever played and I own a lot of games.

Where do I begin? Everything has already been said about this game. I will start off with what I do not like about this game. I do not like not being able to shoot and move and you cannot move side to side. Other then that this game is awesome. Multiplayer would have been cool but I guess it is not a high priority with no online. The game play is near perfect. If it had the couple things I mentioned above I would have given it a 10. The first time I through it took me about 31 hours. I explored everything and I left the game on pause so my real time should have been in the mid 20's. It is not a real long game but I wouldn't say it is short either. When you finish the first time there is enough to make you to want to go through it again. Not many single player games make me want to play again after I beat it. The extra modes you unlock after you go through the first time are really cool. It is something else to look forward to. Being able to keep your inventory the second time around is cool too. There are a few more weapons to get on the second round too. Being able to shoot people in the knee, have them grab their leg and fall to one knee, and then shoot them in the head is pretty cool. Even though the enemies come at you slowly at times there is still a sense of panic. It makes you jump when snakes fly at you or wolves lung at you. You hear the music, don't see anyone, and then turn around and they are grabbing for your throat 2 feet behind you. Graphics are pretty good. I have a HDTV but only have my Cube hooked up through regular composite video. I am sure it would look much better through S-Video or component cables. It is nice they went to the new camera angle in this game. It put it over the top. For the most part everything looks and feels pretty good. I would have been nice for most of the enemies to have more of a different look. Too many people looked the same. I think there is about 5 different villagers. The game sounded really nice. The music gets eerie when there are people near. The weapons and their reloading sounded pretty good. It would have been nice to hear this in 5.1. Everything fits nicely in the game as far as sound goes. The value of this game I gave a 10 because it has a good amount of length to it and it makes you not want to put the game down. There is a desire to play through it at least one more time and there are a couple extra modes to unlock after you beat it once. Even without multiplayer it still has excellent value. I gave it a 10 on the tilt because it is a game that is just fun to play. I can play it for hours and not get sick of playing it. The puzzles and riddles are fun to figure out. It makes me want to keep playing until I get everything. The Mercenaries modes are really fun for some run and gun action. This is my first RE game and I am hooked. It makes me sad to think how long it will be before the next one is out. If you own a GameCube there is no reason you shouldn't have this game. It is like a Xbox owner without Halo or a PS2 owner without GTA. This game has a nice story that leaves you guessing in the end. Things aren't as they seem and it isn't very predictable. Of all 150+ games I own I like this one the best. That is saying a lot since I own PC, Xbox, PS2, GameCube, GBA, and SNES. This is an easy no brainer to buy.
